Luan Yi walked out with her bag while weeping. As she passed by Gu Qili, she couldn’t help but give her a fierce glare, as if everything was Gu Qili’s fault.
Now that Luan Yi was out of the ga, everyone dispersed, ready to have dinner and rest, for there was a physical fitness training at the beach scheduled for tomorrow.
As everyone else had left, Gu Qili was still tidying up; she knew Qi ihui had sothing to ask her, and now it was just the two of them in the eting room.
"What exactly did you do?" Qi ihui asked through gritted teeth, filled with hate. She had never been sched against like this before,
Gu Qili did not hide the truth from her. After packing the docunts into her backpack, she looked at Qi ihui indifferently: "It’s simple. I prepared two test papers, handed in one, and secretly slipped the other into the instructor’s folder."
"How can you be so scheming at such a young age? You must have wished for Luan Yi to be eliminated, haven’t you? You’ve always looked down on her, so you plotted against her by all ans." Qi ihui’s eyes were red with anger, appearing like a tigress ready to pounce in a fight, but being a lady of a distinguished family, she would not actually start a physical altercation.
Gu Qili snorted coldly: "If you hadn’t switched my test paper secretly, would she be eliminated now? You were the ones who started with dirty thoughts, and now you’re blaming for playing mind gas with you? I have never seen anyone as thick-skinned as you and your niece."
"If you didn’t sche against Luan Yi, why would you submit two test papers?"
"Well, you should ask your lovely niece that question. Didn’t she secretly hide my notes in the hopes that I would fail the test?"
Qi ihui was unaware of this developnt, she asked doubtfully, "Luan Yi hid your notes?"
Notes don’t just disappear out of the blue. And at that ti, Luan Yi was the most suspect. Gu Qili had begun to suspect her scheming intentions early on, thus she took extra precautions, deliberately spilling water to wet the papers, and answered both sets of the test. However, the one she submitted was almost randomly filled, while the one snuck into the instructor’s folder was the one she seriously answered.
She was worried Qi ihui would tamper with her test paper, so she gave herself an insurance policy. As expected, Qi ihui did indeed tamper with her paper, but the result backfired, and Qi ihui inadvertently changed the na on the paper to Luan Yi’s, leading to Luan Yi’s elimination.
Qi ihui was not a fool; she thought it through and realized the logic behind Gu Qili’s moves. It was truly a foolproof plan; if Gu Qili had the lowest score, she could claim to the instructor that she had mistakenly submitted a spoiled test paper, and then present the correct one from the folder. If the submitted test paper had been altered or gone missing, the one from the folder could save the day.
It was just Luan Yi’s bad luck that the test paper Gu Qili had answered haphazardly actually received the lowest score. Qi ihui certainly couldn’t declare in front of everyone that it wasn’t Luan Yi’s paper.
"All I did was take precautions to protect myself. Luan Yi’s fate is a result of her own doing," said Gu Qili.
Qi ihui was so frustrated that her teeth itched with the need to retaliate, but she was helpless against Gu Qili.
Gu Qili didn’t bother to continue the conflict, slung her backpack over her shoulder, stood up, and left. Behind her, Qi ihui slamd her fist on the table, her eyes instantly filled with a sinister chill.
After returning to her room, Gu Qili kicked off her shoes and lay down on the bed, picking up her phone to check it.
No calls, no WeChat ssages, no news from Mu Shuoqian at all.
Doesn’t he miss her? Why hasn’t he been in contact for so long, while she, during her spare ti, can hardly stop thinking about him minute by minute?
Yet, she still refrained from contacting him first. She didn’t want him to think she was too eager, and at the sa ti, she wanted to know if he really didn’t miss her.
After looking at a picture of the two of them together, Gu Qili casually cooked a bowl of instant noodles and ate it.
As soon as Qi ihui stepped out of the eting room, Luan Yi, crying, rushed up and hugged her, "Auntie, I don’t want to be eliminated. Grandfather will be angry if he finds out."
"You know your grandfather will be angry? He let arrange this for you because you said you wanted to experience life in the restaurant, but now you’ve been eliminated before even starting. Since it’s co to this, just go ho and continue writing your novel. Don’t co here to cause more trouble," Qi ihui said, venting all her frustration on Luan Yi.
Clutching her aunt’s arm tightly, Luan Yi pleaded, "Auntie, please, let back in. Don’t let grandfather know, or he will scold for being unsuccessful and incompetent. He already dislikes my novel writing."
Suddenly, Luan Yi thought of sothing and said through gritted teeth, "It’s all because of that Gu Qili. She set up. Auntie, I must have my revenge. If I can’t have peace, neither should she. Kick her out and let take her spot."
"That Gu Qili has a powerful backer," said Qi ihui.
"A backer? Could her backer be bigger than you, Auntie?"
Qi ihui frowned, "Her backer is Mu Shuoqian, so unless she makes a mistake, I really cannot just do anything to her."
"What?" Luan Yi was stunned, her mouth agape in disbelief for quite so ti. She thought Gu Qili’s claim of Mu Shuoqian being her second uncle was just a joke.
She was truly capable, to be able to involve Mu Shuoqian, whose status within the Mu family was well-known.
While they were speaking, Leader Zhang entered. He was sent by the event planning company.
Seeing Qi ihui, Leader Zhang imdiately smiled sycophantically and said, "Manager Qi."
Qi ihui slled the strong scent of alcohol on him. Although he didn’t have much to do, drinking during the training period was not acceptable.
Normally, she would have scolded him strictly, but Qi ihui seed to have an idea, her eyes shifting: "Leader Zhang, which room are you in?"
Leader Zhang gave his room number, his breath reeking of alcohol.
"You’ve worked hard these past few days. I’ve got two bottles of red wine in my place to reward you. Go get them later; you know," she said.
Leader Zhang was pleasantly surprised; for soone with a love for alcohol, having wine was everything.
After Leader Zhang left, Luan Yi looked puzzled and asked, "Auntie, why would you give that kind of person wine? Isn’t it a waste to let him drink such fine wine?"
Qi ihui watched Leader Zhang’s departing figure, the corners of her mouth bearing a cold smile, "Since Gu Qili has Mu Shuoqian helping her, let’s see."
