Mu Shuoqian grunted a response, turned around, and walked away. When he reached the door, he took out the two packets of dicine and threw them away.
He wasn’t sick.
Gu Qili made herself a simple al and had just started eating when her phone rang with an unfamiliar number.
She picked up and the voice on the other end was formal, "Miss Gu Qili, please co to the Human Resources Departnt on the thirteenth floor of Pujing Business Building for an interview tomorrow."
Gu Qili was both surprised and delighted, but still uncertain, she asked, "May I ask what is the interview for?"
The caller answered in a flat tone, "Didn’t you send in any resus? Don’t you know?"
Gu Qili had only sent out one resu, and that was for a waiter at the French Restaurant.
After stating she would be there on ti, the other party hung up.
After hanging up the phone, Gu Qili was sowhat thrilled. She knew that getting a call from Pujing for an interview must have been with Mu Shuoqian’s approval. Did that an he was no longer angry and not opposing her anymore?
Gu Qili was happy and imdiately sent him a ssage on WeChat: Thank you, I knew you were the best.
Mu Shuoqian was in a eting. His phone vibrated on the desk and after a glance, he quietly turned his gaze away and asked Xiao Ran beside him, "What ti is the interview tomorrow?"
Xiao Ran replied, "At three in the afternoon."
"Clear my schedule for that ti."
"Understood, Young Master Qian."
Mu Shuoqian continued flipping through the docunts in his hand, "Where were we before the interruption?"
The manager whom he had interrupted resud his report imdiately, but mid-speech, soone pushed the door and walked in, sat down casually next to Mu Shuoqian without knocking and straightened his clothes, "Sorry, I’m late."
But his arrogant tone carried not a trace of apology.
The other managers in the room didn’t dare to speak, and the interrupted manager looked at Mu Shuoqian for guidance. Mu Shuoqian acted as if the person beside him didn’t exist and signaled for him to continue.
"Hold on, how co I don’t know about this project?" Mu Hewen suddenly interrupted the manager’s narrative.
The manager hesitantly said, "Mu Shao, I’ve already sent you the detailed report to your email, and I’ve confird it with your secretary too."
Mu Hewen turned to his secretary beside him, "Did you receive it?"
The secretary hurriedly replied, "Yes, Mu Shao, I just ntioned it to you the day before yesterday."
"Really? I don’t rember. What kind of secretary are you, not reminding persistently until I am aware of it?"
The secretary stood there, wronged, unable to refute and could only swallow her grievances.
"I don’t need this secretary anymore, too incompetent. I will recruit a new one," Mu Hewen announced and then stood up to leave the eting room, "I will have Jiang Jingda recruit a new one."
The people present exchanged looks while the secretary felt even more wronged, her eyes reddening as she looked at Mu Shuoqian, "President, I..."
"You, step out," Mu Shuoqian said without being affected by Mu Hewen’s behaviour, ignoring his presence.
After hearing this, the secretary bit her lip and left first.
Mu Hewen left the eting room and went straight to Jiang Jingda’s office, sat down in front of him, and bluntly said, "I want to recruit a new secretary."
Jiang Jingda was embarrassed and asked with a smile, "Mu Shao, why are you changing secretaries again?"
If he rembered correctly, Mu Shao had changed at least six or seven secretaries in the past six months, each one carefully selected by him, yet the young master was never satisfied.
"How dare you ask , if it weren’t for the incompetent people you recruit, would I need to keep changing secretaries?" Mu Hewen crossed his legs, lit a cigarette, placed the exquisite lighter on the table, smoked, and blew out a puff of smoke, "There was soone nad Hu Jiaojiao who ca for an interview before, right? I want her, find her resu for ."
That resu was still lying around, just thrown among so unused magazines. Since Mu Hewen wanted it, Jiang Jingda promptly found and handed it to him.
Mu Hewen flipped through it briefly and tossed the resu onto the table, saying casually, "That’s settled then. You bring her on board for ."
Jiang Jingda was in a difficult position, because this woman was clearly unwanted by the president’s office; how could he possibly call her back?
"Mu Shao, have you asked President Mu for his opinion?"
Mu Hewen imdiately beca infuriated, "Do I need his opinion? Am I, as the Executive Vice President, a re figurehead without this much authority? It’s just hiring a secretary, why are you making such a fuss?"
"Mu Shao, you should still ask for the President’s opinion first," Jiang Jingda insisted. Having worked at Pujing for many years, he saw things clearly; Mu Shuoqian was the genuine owner of Pujing, while Mu Hewen was just soone placed here by Mu Haotian to pass the ti.
"Mu Shao, I still stand by my suggestion, please consult with the President first."
"I’ve said it already, no need to ask him. Does he control everything including who I hire as my secretary?" Mu Hewen was furious.
Jiang Jingda was at a loss as to what to do when his gaze suddenly focused and he saw the person who appeared behind him. The intimidating presence imdiately made Mu Hewen aware of it.
He turned his head and saw Mu Shuoqian walking in from outside, not even bothering to look at him.
"President," Jiang Jingda quickly stood up, "Vice President Mu wants to hire a secretary, here is her resu."
Mu Shuoqian glanced at it briefly, then picked up the lighter that Mu Hewen had previously placed on the table and tossed it to Jiang Jingda.
Jiang Jingda was initially puzzled, but then understood his aning. He promptly lit the lighter without hesitation and set the resu on fire. Hu Jiaojiao’s photo on the resu was quickly engulfed by the flas, her facial expression becoming sinister as it burned.
"You..." Mu Hewen stood up abruptly, his face twisting as he pointed at him, "What are you doing?"
Mu Shuoqian still didn’t look at him, hands in his pockets as he coldly walked away, his severe words echoing with the sound of the closing door, "This person, permanently unemployable."
