Gu Qili had no idea how much money it would take to buy a Pizza Hut on a bustling street; all she knew was that she was eating her al with a mix of excitent and trepidation, looking at the pizzas and chicken wings in front of her as if they were gilded, instantly feeling like they were worth a fortune.
Mu Shuoqian did not eat anything, only drinking a glass of plain water, and spent the whole ti watching her eat.
However, after feeling nervous for a while, she soon forgot about the costly price of the al and contentedly gnawed on the fragrant and tender chicken wings.
"Pack up when we get back, we have a plane to catch tomorrow." He glanced at his watch indifferently, "If you eat a bit faster, you’ll have half a day left to shop."
Gu Qili imdiately set down the chicken wing she was eating and asked with her oily lips, "Wasn’t it next week?"
"The plan’s been moved up."
She wiped her mouth: "Alright then, let’s go shopping."
Suddenly having to go abroad, there were many things to prepare. She decided to focus her ti on the latter, but didn’t forget to take two pieces of cake with her as she left.
Mu Shuoqian frowned slightly, "From now on, this restaurant is yours. Whenever you want to co, just co. You can have eat-in or takeaway."
"Ah? We’re not serving other custors anymore?" Gu Qili asked in surprise, her mouth agape, thinking how wasteful that would be.
"What do you think?" he said, striding ahead, "Co on, keep up."
Gu Qili had no choice but to scurry after him. When they reached the doorway, she couldn’t help looking back one more ti; the servers were all bowing to her politely, it felt like a dream. In this bustling district, there was a Pizza Hut that was open for her alone – it felt incredibly surreal.
Shopping alone in the mall, Gu Qili knew that Mu Shuoqian would certainly not join her – with his high status, accompanying her for a al at Pizza Hut had ant buying the place out; were he to accompany her shopping, he might just buy the entire mall.
In fact, she didn’t really like shopping all that much, always heading straight for what she wanted. She had made a list before she ca, and now she was shopping item by item from the list.
After all the shopping was done, Gu Qili was extrely thirsty. Conveniently, there was a milk tea shop ahead, fad for its delicious beverages.
She was queuing up at the store with her items when she received a text ssage from Mu Shuoqian.
"Are you finished shopping?"
"Yeah, I bought quite a lot." Gu Qili was holding her phone between her ear and shoulder, freeing her hands to count each item – it really was a lot, her own things, plus so for him.
"I’ll be working late, co to my office and wait for ."
"Ah?" Gu Qili didn’t quite catch on.
He texted her quickly: "Administrative building, room 2407."
After that, there were no more ssages.
Gu Qili held her phone, stunned for a while, until the screen slowly dimd.
He was asking her to wait in his office for him? What did he an by that?
She didn’t have ti to think more about it because it was her turn to order. The cashier asked chanically, "What would you like to drink?"
Gu Qili looked up at the colorful signs, unsure of what to choose, and said, "Please give a specialty milk tea from your shop."
After a pause, she added, "Make it two, and both in large size, one with ice, please."
Although it was unlikely his office would be short of beverages, she impulsively wanted him to give it a try.
Carrying shopping bags and two cups of milk tea, Gu Qili arrived at the building. The mall wasn’t far away, she had walked there.
As she entered the glittering lobby, Gu Qili was imdiately stopped by the receptionist. The beautiful receptionist asked politely, "Miss, which floor are you visiting? Do you have an appointnt?"
Gu Qili replied, "2407."
The receptionist’s expression changed, looking quite nervous, but she still spoke politely, "I apologize, but the 24th floor doesn’t receive female visitors."
Room 2407 was the President’s office.
