Deng Feifei didn’t know what was going on, her luck had been bad lately. Looking back, it seed she hadn’t been seen on TV playing the innocent for a long ti, and now she had offended Mu Shuoqian, she feared her career in this industry was over.
Just after Gu Qili finished a piece of bread, Mu Shuoqian sent a text ssage: "I’m at Xiangshan Club, co over."
Gu Qili couldn’t be bothered to move, texting back: "Can I not go? I have class early tomorrow morning and want to go to bed early."
She sent the ssage and waited a long ti without a response. Unable to fathom his thoughts, she reluctantly got ready and left. Provoking his anger wouldn’t be wise.
The Maybach wasn’t ho; his other Range Rover Evoque was parked in the tandem garage spot. Finding the keys, she drove straight to Xiangshan Club.
Xiangshan Club is a top-tier luxury leisure club in Aus City, blending dining and entertainnt—it’s pricey, and they don’t just accept anyone.
Gu Qili parked the car and headed straight into the club’s lobby. Soon, a polite staff mber approached and asked, "Miss, are you here to dine or sing?"
"Which room is Young Master Qian in?" she asked, cutting to the chase.
The server paused, sizing her up and then glanced at the car keys in her hand before gesturing for her to follow: "Miss, please co with . Young Master Qian is in the VIP room."
The server led the way, and just then, Gu Qili’s phone rang—it was a ssage from Mu Shuoqian, just a simple "?".
Gu Qili was puzzled, but as the server knocked and pushed the door open after a response, they smiled at her: "Miss, please, Young Master Qian is inside."
Compared to the glittering hallway, the atmosphere in the room was lively and unrestrained. Soone was singing enthusiastically but stopped abruptly upon noticing Gu Qili standing at the doorway against the light.
Gu Qili was sowhat taken aback.
She had thought Mu Shuoqian would be alone in the room, but a quick scan revealed nearly every leather sofa arranged at right angles was occupied, with red wine bottles and various snacks piled on the coffee tables.
She rubbed her eyes, thinking she was in the wrong place. Mu Shuoqian had never cared for such noisy scenes, and just monts before, soone was howling into a microphone.
About to leave, suddenly soone called her na.
The indoor lighting was dim, but upon hearing the call, she turned back, only to et a pair of sharp, probing eyes. He was seated on a sofa in the corner, legs crossed, a half-burned cigarette between his slender fingers, his narrow eyes still dazzle bright even in the dark.
Gu Qili swallowed dryly; that really was Mu Shuoqian, sitting there as if utterly bored.
But what was that look in his eyes, as if she shouldn’t have co? Yet he was the one who texted her to co over.
"Miss Gu, long ti no see."
This familiar, magnetic voice made Gu Qili quickly divert her gaze as Nan Zhan stood up and ca over, a curious smile playing on his lips as he extended his hand for a handshake.
This was the basic etiquette between acquaintances, and as Gu Qili was about to shake hands, a figure quite naturally stepped in front of Nan Zhan, his defined and attractive palms taking her hand and leading her unceremoniously to the corner of the couch.
Gu Qili thought she heard the sound of jaws dropping all over the room.
Nan Zhan looked at his hand, still hanging in mid-air, with a helpless expression, then flexed his nimble fingers before casually picking up a beer bottle. They sure keep a tight leash on her.
Gu Qili sneakily glanced at those present, instantly feeling uneasy.
