As expected, there were hardly any people in the library, with most of the big tables empty.

The teacher managing the library recognized her, placed the books she had organized into the shelves, and turned to ask her, "Who is this?"

"He’s a guest of the principal," Gu Qili hurried to explain.

The teacher politely nodded her head. Seeing his dignified and extraordinary deanor, which indeed made him look like a prominent figure and knowing he was the principal’s guest, she naturally allowed him through smoothly.

"This is the foreign language section I often visit," Gu Qili pointed to a few rows of bookshelves in front of them and explained, "There are many reference materials and foreign language novels here."

"Over there are the electronic reading room, the reference reading room, and the current journals reading room for arts and sciences. Would you like to take a look?"

Mu Shuoqian obviously didn’t show much interest in the layout of the library; he casually pulled out a book from the shelf, flipped through it, and then put it back.

The place was very quiet and the space between two rows of bookshelves was very secluded, probably having witnessed quite a few couples testing boundaries here.

Mu Shuoqian pushed the wooden shelf with his hand, feeling its sturdiness, thinking that wall-banging wouldn’t lose its charm due to poor quality.

Naturally, Gu Qili didn’t know the indecent thoughts in his mind. Seeing him pushing the wooden fra, she explained in detail, "These bookshelves are quite old, but they are still sturdy. There was one ti an earthquake knocked down a few rows, but they didn’t break."

Mu Shuoqian nodded seriously, then suddenly staggered and fell forward. Gu Qili instinctively went to support him, but ended up being pulled toward the shelf behind them. Her back hit the shelf, and a few books fell down. He raised his arm to block the thick hardcover books for her. She heard the books hit his shoulder and then fall to the ground, making quite a loud noise.

Everything happened so suddenly, Gu Qili couldn’t fully react yet,

Her back was tightly pressed against the bookshelf, one long arm extended over her shoulder and leaned on the shelf, and his unique, clear scent, along with his deep gaze, entwined her.

The difference in height made him lower his head slightly, looking down on her as if from above, his bottomless dark eyes reflecting her image, making her feel so small all of a sudden.

Gu Qili’s face unconsciously blushed, and for a mont she even forgot to push him away, only to stay staring dumbly as his face enlarged in front of her, his breath light like a breeze, his scent rugged, compelling her to close her eyes.

Her heartbeat was pounding, so fast.

"Why are you blushing?" he narrowed his eyes.

Gu Qili glared at him, furious, "You did that on purpose."

He straightened his body unconcerned, the oppressive pressure also fading away, "I was just verifying if these shelves are as sturdy as you said."

Gu Qili: "..."

Don’t stop her, she’s determined not to kill him today.

Her clearly furious yet unable to do anything about him appearance amused Mu Shuoqian greatly. He took two steps backwards ready to leave, his gaze unintentionally falling onto the ground.

Among them, a post-it note had fallen out from one of the books, with a row of nice handwriting: Qili, I like you, will you be my girlfriend?

Signed: Chen Yishu.
