Having cried and shouted until exhausted, the girl’s mother saw that Manman had no intention of responding to her, so she stood up from the floor and complained, "How can you be so heartless? I’m such an old person, sat on the floor crying for ages, and you didn’t even try to comfort ."
"You’re not senseless. When you’re tired of crying, you’ll naturally stop. Besides, why should I comfort you? Isn’t it better to give you a chance to showcase your acting skills?"
Li Manman spoke calmly, but every word was filled with sarcasm.
"How can you talk like this? Do you think I’m acting for you?"
"Isn’t that so? With your tearful crying and tantrum-throwing, it’s quite a performance. Unfortunately, I don’t buy it."
The girl’s mother was so belittled she couldn’t find her voice for quite a while. Hard tactics didn’t work, so she tried to be soft; she couldn’t let her daughter go to jail.
"Girl, you have parents too. Can you understand our plight? She’s my only daughter. If she goes to jail, her father and I won’t be able to live."
Li Manman frowned and glanced at them, "What’s it got to do with ? I’m only worried about whether my friend is in danger. Please disappear from my sight imdiately."
These two hadn’t asked even once about the patient’s condition — all their talk was about their daughter not going to jail, as if others’ life and death didn’t matter to them.
"We won’t leave unless you agree not to prosecute my daughter."
The girl’s mother simply sat on the bench, appearing determined to struggle with Manman to the end.

Li Manman looked up at the light outside the operating room, feeling almost dead worried. Tong Ze had lost so much blood just now... She had to trust Han Xi, it would be fine.
Not knowing how long she waited, the light outside the operating room finally went off, and Han Xi pushed the door open and ca out.

As he spoke, Han Xi pulled Manman into the treatnt room. He took a dicine box from the cabinet and disinfected the wound with iodine povidone.
Manman hissed in pain, "Did you see that girl’s parents in the hallway just now? They’re complete hooligans; it’s no wonder their daughter got dumped."
Han Xi took a small white bottle from the dicine box and bent down to apply a thin layer of white ointnt on the wound, "What happened? Did sothing happen just now?"
After speaking, Han Xi wrapped the wound with white gauze.
Manman walked to the washbasin, bent over to turn on the tap, squeezed out so hand soap and rubbed the dried blood stains on her hand vigorously, "This family, their minds must be ill. Not a single word of concern for the patient — all they said was not to sue their daughter. They even rolled around crying on the floor. I think the guy who broke up with their daughter might not be a scumbag."
Han Xi put away the dicine box back in the cabinet, "Did they say they’d pay for the dical expenses?"
