"Dad, how can you guys pressure into marriage like this? You even personally went to find Nancy, making it seem like I can’t find a husband."

Isn’t it supposed to be the guy who makes the move when it cos to marriage? It’s weird for the girl’s dad to go proposing.

In the kitchen, the auntie brought the plate of sliced fruit to the living room. Yu Lu leaned over, placing a kiwi slice into Zhong Li’s mouth, "Your dad and I mainly want to have a grandchild while we’re still young enough to help take care of them."

Suddenly, Zhong Li didn’t know what to say. Not only was she being pressured to get married, but now also to have a child.

"This is sothing Nancy and I will discuss, you don’t need to worry about it." Qi Weidong quickly intervened with a cheerful deanor.

"It’s just... we’re so busy, we don’t have ti for a wedding. Dad, I think it’s best not to ntion it to Nancy."

"If there’s no ti for a wedding, you can at least get the marriage certificate first."

.....

After dinner in the evening, Zhong Li noticed Qi Weidong calling Gu Nanxi into the study room. They were in there talking for quite so ti before coming out.

"Mom, Zhong Li and I are heading ho now."

Gu Nanxi walked into the living room, leaning over to pick up Zhong Li’s bag from the sofa.

Yu Lu put down the remote, waving them off, "Alright, drive safely on the way back."

"I got it, Mom."

With that, Gu Nanxi took Zhong Li’s hand and started heading toward the door.

Once in the car, Zhong Li leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, coughing lightly before starting to speak, "What did my dad want to talk to you about just now?"

Gu Nanxi glanced at Zhong Li with a charming smile on his lips.

"Why are you looking at like that?" Whether it was her imagination or not, Zhong Li felt his gaze was different from usual.

"Uncle said I should hurry and marry you, then give them a big, chubby grandson soon after."

"What my dad said doesn’t count. I haven’t agreed to anything yet."

Gu Nanxi propped one arm on the open window while steered with the other hand, "But I’ve already agreed with your dad, seems like it’s a bit late for you to back out now."

"Back out? I never even agreed in the first place."

In truth, Zhong Li wanted him to propose, but she was too embarrassed to say it. Anyway, if he didn’t propose, she definitely wouldn’t marry him.

Gu Nanxi rely chuckled and didn’t continue the conversation.

......

The following morning, Zhong Li was jolted awake by her alarm clock. She had gotten used to waking up naturally, so the early start was a bit of an adjustnt.

Propping herself up, Zhong Li gathered her slightly ssy long hair into a high ponytail and got out of bed.

After washing up in the bathroom, she put on a sowhat professional dress and applied so light makeup at the vanity before heading out.

In the dining room, Gu Nanxi placed the freshly cooked soup on the table, looking up at Zhong Li, "Hurry and co have breakfast."

"Slls great! What delicious food have you made?"

Zhong Li walked over with a smile. Ever since they got together, it seed Gu Nanxi had taken over the cooking duties.

Rolling down the cuffs of his shirt, Gu Nanxi leaned over, taking a seat as well, "I made all your favorites. By the way, want to accompany you to the office later?"

Gu Nanxi was worried Qi Shangyu might still try to bother her.

Zhong Li grabbed a small bun, popping it into her mouth, "No need, I can handle it myself."

After breakfast, Gu Nanxi drove Zhong Li to her office building, only driving away once he saw her go inside.
