"Xiao Xi, did Manman tell you yesterday why she had a falling out with Feng Yi?"
Han Xi was resting on the sofa, and upon hearing Xu Lan’s voice, she sat up imdiately: "Auntie, Manman wasn’t with yesterday. Did she argue with Feng Yi?"
"She said last night that she was going to stay at your place. She just ca back a bit tipsy. Xiao Xi, please help Auntie talk so sense into this girl. She won’t tell anything and won’t let or your uncle go to Feng Yi."
"Auntie, don’t worry. After work tonight, I’ll ask Manman out and have a good talk with her."
"Alright, you must make sure to talk so sense into this girl."
Xu Lan could see that her daughter really liked Feng Yi, and she and Li Shitian already regarded Feng Yi as a son-in-law. They certainly didn’t want anything else to go wrong between the two.
After hanging up the phone, Han Xi imdiately dialed Li Manman’s number. The phone rang for a long ti before it was answered.
"Manman, did you have a fight with Feng Yi?"
Hearing Han Xi’s voice, Li Manman erged from beneath her covers, her red-rimd eyes filled with misty tears: "I broke up with him last night."
"Weren’t you two doing well? Why would you suddenly break up?"
"I said I wanted to break up, and he didn’t try to stop or co looking for . Xiao Xi, I feel terrible."
Li Manman couldn’t help but start crying, feeling as if a dagger was piercing her heart.
Han Xi suddenly realized that this was serious, not just a petty argunt: "Manman, stop crying. Tonight we’ll go out to eat with Chu Ci. Tell us whatever is bothering you, and we’ll help you figure it out, okay?"
"Alright, send the address later."
Li Manman wiped away her tears, suddenly feeling how lucky she was to have two close friends who were always willing to listen to her grievances and pains.
After hanging up, Han Xi called Chu Ci, explaining what happened between Manman and Feng Yi, and asked for her help in advising Manman during dinner.
Chu Ci put down her phone and looked at Fu Bin, who was eating at the dining table: "What did Feng Yi do to Manman that made them break up?"
"I don’t know either. Feng Yi never ntioned breaking up. Maybe it’s Manman throwing a tantrum."
Fu Bin picked up a piece of fish and placed it in Chu Ci’s bowl: "Why don’t you send the dinner address later, and I’ll have Feng Yi join us."
"Alright, tell Feng Yi to soften up no matter what happened."
Fu Bin leaned over to Chu Ci, a mischievous grin playing at his lips: "I promise never to make you mad in the future, and if I do, I’ll surrender imdiately."
"You better not make mad, or I’ll leave with our daughter and never look back."
Chu Ci propped her chin with one hand, her eyes filled with a playful glint.
"Can I sleep in the master bedroom tonight?"
"Fu Bin, I realized you just want to get into bed; you don’t really want to date ."
"I think deepening our understanding while dating would enhance our relationship."
"You’re such an animal driven by your lower instincts; don’t even think about it." Chu Ci shot Fu Bin a side-eye and continued eating.
Fu Bin was speechless. It’s not normal for them to still sleep in separate rooms when they already have a child.

That evening, Han Xi left the operating room, gave a few instructions to the nurse, and returned to her office to change clothes. She walked out of the hospital and flagged down a taxi by the roadside.
