"Sister Xiao Xi, I’m not ready yet. Please don’t tell Song Yan that I like him."
Zhuang Lian put her phone in her bag, feeling inexplicably nervous. She was afraid that if she confessed and got rejected, she wouldn’t even have the chance to stay by Song Yan’s side in the future.
"Alright, I’ll keep it a secret for you."
No sooner had Han Xi finished speaking than Song Yan pushed the door open and walked in: "What are you two chatting about?"
"We’re just talking casually. Brother, later can you take us to the nearby mall to buy ingredients for tonight?"
"Okay," Song Yan glanced at his watch: "Let’s go now."
Han Xi nodded, picked up her bag from the coat hanger, and pulled Zhuang Lian out of the office.
The three of them took the elevator together to the underground parking lot. Han Xi intentionally gave the front passenger seat to Zhuang Lian.
Song Yan walked around the front of the car to get into the driver’s seat, fastened his seatbelt, then turned the steering wheel to drive off.
The car soon stopped at a nearby mall. After getting out, Zhuang Lian linked arms with Han Xi: "Sister Xiao Xi, what are we having for dinner?"
"Let Sister Zhang cook you her specialty dishes, and we’ll buy so seafood to take back."
The two walked ahead, chatting and laughing, while Song Yan followed behind with his hands in his pockets.
Once inside the supermarket, Han Xi pushed the shopping cart and said she’d go get the seafood, while Song Yan and Zhuang Lian should get the vegetables to save ti.
Zhuang Lian could tell that Han Xi was creating an opportunity for her to spend ti alone with Song Yan.
Song Yan pushed the cart as he and Zhuang Lian headed to the vegetable section. Following Han Xi’s earlier instructions, Zhuang Lian bought all the vegetables.
"Song Yan, let’s buy so snacks for ng ng."
"Sure." Song Yan nodded and walked beside Zhuang Lian with the cart.
Just as they reached the snack area, a tall pyramid of cans, likely part of a promotion, was accidentally knocked over by soone in the middle of the aisle.
With a loud "crash," all the cans fell over, and Song Yan dropped the shopping cart and quickly turned to shield Zhuang Lian in his arms.
People nearby quickly stepped aside, with so crying out in pain as their feet got hit.
Zhuang Lian leaned into Song Yan’s embrace, her heart racing out of control.
"Are you alright? Did you get hit?" Song Yan released Zhuang Lian, looking at her with concern.
"I’m fine."
Zhuang Lian raised her head, belatedly realizing: "Are you hurt?"
"I’m fine too." Song Yan took Zhuang Lian’s wrist and moved aside: "Let’s go buy things for ng ng."
Having just finished buying seafood and now coming over, Han Xi saw the cans scattered all over the floor. She quickly walked up to them worriedly: "Brother, are you and Lianlian unhard? What happened?"
The nearby staff were already cleaning up and repeatedly apologizing to the custors who got hit.
"It’s nothing, soone accidentally bumped it, and this happened."
"It’s good that you’re okay."
After picking out so snacks for ng ng, the three of them went to check out.
Leaving the mall, Song Yan placed two bags of items into the trunk and got into the driver’s seat to drive away.
About twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the villa, just as Lu Jinghan got out of the Maybach with ng ng.
The little one let go of Lu Jinghan’s hand and ran toward Han Xi and the others: "Brother, Sister, ng ng missed you."
The chubby little hands hugged Han Xi’s leg, and the bangs on his forehead were slightly tousled by the wind.
