Han Xi held a spoon in her right hand, stirring it randomly in the bowl, while her left elbow rested on the dining table, absentmindedly twisting her long hanging hair. After a few seconds of silence, she finally asked, "Why did you have a bodyguard follow ?"
He knew she would ask this. It wasn’t until he watched the video and read the ssage sent by Fu Bin yesterday that Lu Jinghan decided to tell Han Xi that Jiang Dachuan was intentionally placed by him.

He was more worried that after Lu Qing An found out the blood transfusion after the car accident was from Han Xi, he might target Han Xi.

Once out the door, they each got into their own cars, and the cars drove in different directions at the neighborhood’s exit.
Arriving at the hospital, Han Xi parked her car in the lot, walked towards the elevator, and upon returning to the office, hung her shoulder bag, put on her white coat, and pulled her long hair out from the clothes.
Initially planning to perform routine checks on patients, she received a call from the ergency departnt saying several workers had accidentally fallen from the construction site, with one in critical condition requiring imdiate surgery. They briefly explained the situation to Han Xi.
After hanging up, Han Xi went to Chen Zheng’s office, realizing that if she perford the surgery alone, ti would be crucial, and the patient might not survive. So, she needed Chen Zheng to assist her with the surgery.
After a brief explanation of the situation, they walked together towards the operating room.
The patient suffered intracranial hemorrhage, and their abdon and chest had been pierced by steel pipes or similar objects, resulting in severe blood loss. Han Xi frowned while looking at the patient lying on the operating table, glanced at Chen Zheng, signaling that he could begin.

Nearing the end of the seven-hour surgery, Han Xi was drenched in sweat, feeling exhausted but relieved they had saved the patient against all odds.

Standing at the operating table for seven hours straight, she had moved past hunger and now felt completely drained, only wishing to lie down and nap for a mont.
