"Why is your stomach suddenly hurting?"
Han Xi frowned as she helped Chu Ci up, "I’ll take you to the obstetrics departnt for a checkup first."
In the elevator, Chu Ci was so scared she was about to cry, "Xiao Xi, do you think the baby will be okay?"
"Don’t worry, the baby will definitely be fine. Why isn’t Fu Bin here with you?"
Chu Ci was less than three months pregnant, and stomach pain could be either a big or small issue, yet Fu Bin wasn’t by her side.
"I didn’t tell him."
Chu Ci was still angry about the other day’s incident and hadn’t spoken to Fu Bin at all.
When they got out of the elevator, Han Xi directly supported Chu Ci into the doctor’s office, "Doctor Wang, my friend is less than three months pregnant and suddenly has a stomachache. Please check her out."
"Did you bump into anything or have a fall, any bleeding below?"
Doctor Wang, sitting at the desk, nodded to Han Xi, then carefully queried Chu Ci.
"I didn’t fall, I’ve been at ho all morning, and there’s no bleeding below."
"Don’t worry, I’ll check for you." Doctor Wang gestured for Chu Ci to go into the inner room.
A dozen minutes later, Han Xi helped Chu Ci out of the room, "Doctor Wang, the baby should be okay, right?"
"The baby is developing well. Did you eat sothing today that caused the stomach pain?"
Doctor Wang removed the disposable gloves from his hands and adjusted the black fra on his nose bridge.
Chu Ci thought for a mont, "I think I drank a cup of cold water today."
"Next ti, please be careful and don’t drink cold water. You are pregnant now, so try to avoid dication. Going ho and applying a hot water bag to your stomach should help."
Fortunately, it was just a false alarm, and Chu Ci’s heart had nearly jumped to her throat a mont ago.
"Thank you, Doctor Wang."
"Doctor Han, no need to be so formal, just a small effort."
After coming out of the office, Han Xi raised her hand and lightly poked Chu Ci’s forehead, "You almost scared to death. How can soone your age not know how to take care of yourself?"
"I was just really thirsty when I woke up and didn’t have any warm water, so I ended up drinking so cold water."
Han Xi helped Chu Ci take the elevator back to her office and poured her a cup of warm water, "Drink so warm water first, it might help. I just sent a ssage to Fu Bin, he should be here soon."
"Why did you tell him?"
Chu Ci took a sip of water, frowning so intensely that it could kill a fly.
"What’s wrong, did you have a fight?"
"I wouldn’t call it a fight, I just don’t want him to continue living at my place. I feel like he and his family have seriously affected my life."
Han Xi had just opened her mouth to speak when Fu Bin ran in, looking tense, "Why do you have a sudden stomachache, are you okay?"
Fu Bin half-squatted beside Chu Ci, holding her hands tightly, deep concern etched in his intense gaze.
"I’m fine, and so is the baby."
Chu Ci withdrew her hand from Fu Bin’s grip, her tone cold and devoid of warmth.
Han Xi leaned against the desk, smiling lightly at Fu Bin, "She just drank so cold water today, which is why her stomach hurt. Just go ho and use a hot water bottle, and she’ll be fine."
"Then I’ll take her ho now, Little Sister-in-law."
"Yeah, take good care of her and the baby."
Fu Bin nodded, helped Chu Ci up from the sofa, "Let’s go ho."
When Fu Bin first saw Han Xi’s ssage, he was genuinely terrified, fearing sothing had happened to Chu Ci and the baby, so he rushed out leaving the executives in the eting room.
