Han Xi was almost speechless, so she could only lower her head obediently to eat.

After finishing her al, she returned to the office, threw herself onto the sofa, and pulled out her phone from the pocket of her white coat to text Lu Jinghan.

[You’re too overbearing, making my brother watch eat.]

At the dining table, Lu Jinghan saw the ssage from Han Xi and smiled lightly as he typed a few words on the screen and sent them back.

[You’re already very slim, losing more weight isn’t good for your health. Listen to .]

Han Xi could feel Lu Jinghan’s concern for her, and with a slight smile on her face, she turned off her phone, lay on her side on the sofa, and prepared to take a nap.

After dozing off for more than half an hour, Han Xi got up, glanced at her wristwatch, and got to work.

.....

In the evening, Han Xi was still organizing case files. There were a lot of patients in their departnt today, and she needed to archive the case files.

She tiredly rubbed her shoulders, took a sip from the cup on the desk, and was just about to get up to grab so food from the cafeteria when the office door was pushed open from the outside.

Lu Jinghan walked in carrying a paper bag.

"Why are you here so early? Didn’t I tell you to co at nine?"

"Ca to have dinner with you."

Lu Jinghan placed the paper bag on the table and gestured for Han Xi to co over.

Han Xi walked over and sat down beside Lu Jinghan, lightly leaning her head against his shoulder.

"Are you tired?"

"Yeah, I just want to lean on you for a bit."

Lu Jinghan reached out and embraced Han Xi, his fingers softly caressing her delicate hand: "Alright, just a little while, or else the food will get cold."

Just as he finished speaking, the office door was pushed open from the outside, and a nurse’s anxious voice ca through with panting: "Doctor Han, the patient in bed fifteen suddenly has a high fever, please go check it out quickly."

"Alright, I’ll go right away."

Han Xi stood up from her chair, her expression serious, and left with the nurse.

"What’s the condition of bed fifteen now?"

The nurse handed the patient’s chart to Han Xi: "Doctor Wang just perford a craniotomy on the patient this afternoon, but for so reason, the patient suddenly developed a high fever."

Han Xi glanced at the chart in her hand and quickened her pace.

After reaching the ward, Han Xi conducted various examinations on the patient, and with a frown, she said: "There’s so postoperative infection. Go get so antibiotics for a drip, and keep monitoring. If there’s any change, call imdiately."

"Got it, Doctor Han."

With that, the nurse quickly went to prepare antibiotics and give the patient a drip.

The patient’s family was terribly worried, repeatedly asking: "Doctor, is he in any danger?"

"He’s not in danger. A high fever after a craniotomy can happen. As long as we control the infection, he’ll be fine. Don’t worry."

"Thank you, doctor, thank you."

Han Xi gave a gentle smile and nodded before turning to leave.

When she returned to the office, Lu Jinghan was standing by the window smoking. Hearing footsteps, he extinguished the cigarette and closed the slightly open window.

"Co and eat quickly."

Lu Jinghan walked to the table, bent down, and opened the bag, taking out the food one by one.

Han Xi sat down on a chair, took the chopsticks Lu Jinghan handed her, and started eating.

After they finished eating, Lu Jinghan tidied up the table, and Han Xi continued sitting at the desk sorting case files.
