"Xiao Xi, I need to go on a business trip to the United States tomorrow. I might not be back for three or four days." Lu Jinghan served Han Xi a piece of fish.
Han Xi looked up at Lu Jinghan, her clear eyes filled with reluctance. "It’ll take three or four days to co back, huh."
"So I want you to co with . It should be hard to endure these days without you by my side."
Han Xi’s eyelashes trembled. Although she didn’t want to be separated from this man, she still had her job, and she couldn’t keep taking leave from the hospital.
"I think I better not go. I have to return to the hospital in a couple of days."
"Then I’ll have Jiang Dachuan stay with you. With him there, I can be assured."
Since being discharged from the hospital, Han Xi refused to let Jiang Dachuan follow her. Having such a burly man around always felt awkward to her.
Han Xi swallowed the food in her mouth. "I’m just a doctor; what danger could I possibly face? I really don’t need protection."
"You’re still my wife, Lu Jinghan’s. If I’m not by your side, there has to be soone to protect you."
Han Xi couldn’t argue with him and could only nod in agreent.
The next day, when Han Xi woke up, it was already around two in the afternoon. She propped her sore body up from the bed and smiled sweetly as she looked at the roses on the bedside table.
Han Xi took her phone from under the pillow and sent a WeChat ssage to Lu Jinghan, "How could you just leave without waking up?"
She admitted that she already missed this man.
Lu Jinghan saw Han Xi’s WeChat as soon as he got off the plane. His deep-set brows and eyes were all smiles, "Miss ?"
Han Xi lay on the bed, almost drifting off, but the ssage on the screen instantly woke her, "Missed you..."
She especially missed Lu Jinghan now.
Having just parted, she was already eager to et again. Maybe that’s how people in love all feel.
Lu Jinghan and assistant Xiao Zhang got into a luxury business car, and upon sitting in the back seat, Lu Jinghan’s attractive fingers quickly typed a few words on the screen and sent them to Han Xi.
"I asked Sister Zhang to make you so soup. Is your body in pain?"
Lu Jinghan hadn’t forgotten how he had tornted Han Xi last night.
"I’m okay, I’m fine. You focus on your work; I think I’ll take a nap."
"Be good and wait for at ho."
Han Xi smiled softly and turned off her phone. She initially planned to nap so more, but then her stomach started to ache. Having skipped breakfast and lunch, her belly growled in protest.
With no choice, Han Xi got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up, though her legs felt as if they could give out at any mont.
After washing up and changing into loungewear, Han Xi finally headed downstairs.
"Madam, I’ve kept the al warm for you. Would you like to eat now?" Sister Zhang asked when she saw Han Xi coming down, putting aside what she was doing.
Han Xi nodded. "Sorry for the trouble, Sister Zhang."
Sister Zhang chuckled as she walked towards the kitchen. "Sir told not to disturb you when he left. He also asked to make so soup. Oh, and he asked to stay overnight for the next few days to keep you company because he’s worried you might get scared alone."
Han Xi sat down at the dining table and casually tied her hair up. "Will it be okay for you to stay here with at night, Sister Zhang? Is everything alright at ho?"
"It’s fine, really. They don’t need at ho."
Han Xi took the bowl of soup Sister Zhang handed her and thanked her with a smile. "Then I’ll trouble you, Sister Zhang."
After eating, Han Xi took two stomach pills before returning to her bedroom, finally feeling a bit of energy.
Han Xi placed the roses from the bedside table in a vase, then casually picked up a dical book she’d been reading from the drawer and nestled into bed with it.

The next morning, Han Xi got up early. She planned to return to the hospital for work today.
After freshening up and having breakfast, Han Xi left the house with her bag.
After canceling her leave at the hospital, she went to find Chen Zheng to hand over so work. During her hospitalization and leave, Chen Zheng had been taking care of her patients.
The morning’s work had been relatively light, and just as Han Xi finished changing her clothes, Chen Zheng ca in. "Let’s go, you owe a good al today."
That morning, Chen Zheng had ntioned that Han Xi owed him a al in return for covering her work during her absence.
Han Xi grabbed her bag and smiled gently. "I’ll treat you to whatever you want. Manman just called, saying she’s already waiting for us at the entrance."
Han Xi had called Li Manman to join them, mainly because she was aware of Chen Zheng’s feelings towards her and didn’t want him to get the wrong idea.
