Leaving the hospital room, Lu Jinghan instructed Jiang Dachuan a few things before departing the hospital.

Feng Yi had been waiting at the hospital entrance for so ti. Seeing Lu Jinghan co out, he casually extinguished the cigarette he was holding and got into the driver’s seat.

Lu Jinghan entered the car, his eyes dark and deep, and asked, "Where is the person now?"

"I’ve arranged for them to stay at a hotel. Don’t worry, there’s soone watching over them."

Feng Yi held the steering wheel with one hand and loosened his tie with the other: "Lu Qing An, that old bastard, is certainly cunning. I wondered how he could stay so calm. Luckily, you had keep an eye on his wife beforehand, otherwise, we wouldn’t have found the evidence."

Lu Jinghan took a cigarette box from the car’s storage compartnt, drew out a cigarette, tilted his head to light it, and after taking a few drags, rested the cigarette-holding hand on the half-opened car window.

"Let’s go to the hotel first."

Feng Yi nodded, turned the steering wheel, floored the accelerator, and the car sped off with a whoosh.

.......

In the hotel corridor, Lu Jinghan walked ahead with his hands in his pockets, his deep eyes exuding coldness.

The two bodyguards at the entrance respectfully nodded to Lu Jinghan and Feng Yi, then opened the door.

Seeing soone co in, the man and woman inside looked up in panic, their faces marked with bruises, green and blue.

Lu Jinghan’s sharp gaze swept over them, as he crossed his legs and sat on the sofa, a chilling smile tugging at his lips: "Director Wang, back then it was you who took Lu Qing An’s money and fabricated the evidence of the car accident, hmm?"

This Director Wang was the police chief of An City at that ti, and the woman beside him was his mistress outside.

Years ago, Lu Qing An sent them money, turning an intentional murder into an accidental car crash.

Director Wang trembled as he nodded in acknowledgnt. Although he had been managed into another post, Lu Jinghan knew that he still wielded considerable power, making him a formidable figure in An City, with few daring to oppose him.

"Years ago, Lu Qing An said if I didn’t comply, he’d reveal my affair outside. My wife’s family is very influential, so how could I dare to let her find out? I reluctantly agreed."

The woman beside him, Zhang Jingxian, also spoke up fearfully: "Lu Qing An also wired a large hush money into my account back then, saying that after the matter concluded, we should leave An City."

On the sofa, Feng Yi unbuttoned a few buttons of his shirt collar, frowned, and asked, "How much money?"

"Twenty million."

"Damn, that old guy surely isn’t stingy with money. But I’ve checked his accounts thoroughly before, how co I never found this twenty million transfer?"

"The money wasn’t handled directly by Lu Qing An. It was transferred from an account under the na Ji Feng."

Ji Feng is Lu Qing An’s wife, Ji Qing’s brother. So, the Ji family was also involved in this matter.

Lu Jinghan’s eyes grew even darker. He took out a cigarette from his pants pocket, lit it, took a drag, and white mist seeped from his mouth.

Intimidated by the commanding aura emanating from Lu Jinghan, Zhang Jingxian shakily retrieved a voice recorder from her bag and handed it to him.

"Here’s the recording of our conversation with Lu Qing An at that ti. I kept it as a precaution in case things went south later."

Lu Jinghan accepted the voice recorder, a mysterious and aningful smile curling at his lips: "Tomorrow, head to the Lu Family’s old house with . You know what to say, right?"
