After cooking the porridge, Lu Jinghan poured a bowl and then carried it to the bedroom upstairs.
When Lu Jinghan pushed the door open and ca in, Han Xi was already half-asleep, her eyes a bit bleary. She rubbed her eyes and sat up on the bed, "It’s ready so soon."
"Well, there’s hardly anything at ho, so I just made a bit of porridge. We’ll have to make do," Lu Jinghan said, ladling so porridge and blowing it cool, then bringing it to Han Xi’s lips.
Han Xi opened her mouth, and as soon as the porridge went in, her tongue was pierced with sharp pain. She forced herself to swallow it down.
"Does it hurt a lot? Can you drink more?" Lu Jinghan’s eyes, usually restrained, were now filled with a fiercely controlled anger, knowing Han Xi’s tongue was also bitten.
Han Xi shook her head, "I don’t want any more. Pain might be bearable, but cuddle with to sleep for a while."
"Alright, I’ll hold you as we sleep." Lu Jinghan placed the bowl on the bedside table, then lay down beside Han Xi, wrapping her in his arms, "Mrs. Lu, goodnight."
Han Xi nestled into Lu Jinghan’s embrace, greedily enjoying the closeness, interlocking fingers with his other hand, "Lu Jinghan, I love you... Goodnight."
Lu Jinghan held Han Xi closer, planted a gentle kiss on her smooth forehead, his heart lting softly.
It was not until he heard the gentle, even breathing of the woman in his arms that Lu Jinghan got up from the bed, slipped on his slippers, and pushed the door open before stepping out.
Before the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, Lu Jinghan held a cigarette at the corner of his lips, gazing into the distance with eyes filled with a biting cold light. His long fingers rhythmically tapped the lighter in his hand, exuding a natural authority in the dim moonlight.
With a "click", the fla from the lighter illuminated Lu Jinghan’s frosty face, his eyes chilling like a Rakshasa from Hell, making one’s hair stand on end.
Amidst the swirling smoke, Lu Jinghan pulled out a phone from his pants pocket and dialed a number.

Li Manman ca out of the villa and dialed Li Chenghao, arranging to et at a café. She avoided the hospital to prevent causing trouble for Han Xi, knowing that the nurses there were all very gossipy.
Li Manman’s car parked at the café entrance, and when she walked in, Li Chenghao was already there. Li Manman strutted over in high heels and sat across from him.
"How’s Xiao Xi doing?" Li Chenghao couldn’t wait to speak, his deep eyes reflecting anxiety.
Li Manman looked at him with a mocking expression, speaking slowly, "Her husband is with her."
Li Chenghao’s hand on the table clenched into a fist tightly, perhaps due to the force, the veins on the back of his hand beca visible.
"Where is Xiao Xi now? I want to see her."
Li Manman sneered coldly, "Look at your nerve, doing things like that to Han Xi, and still daring to say you want to see her?"
"I just can’t stand that she fell for another man. I want to win her back," Li Chenghao said confidently.
Li Manman sipped the coffee on the table, her nails painted, fingers teasing her slightly curled long hair, and her red lips moved slowly, "If I rember correctly, it was you who cheated and rolled in bed with Han Siyu back then. Han Xi managed to walk out from the shadows of you both, yet here you go, trying to harm her again. I just don’t get why you and Han Siyu can’t bear to see her happy?"
Li Chenghao slowly released his clenched fist, his lifted brows conveying helplessness, "I don’t intend to harm Xiao Xi, there are so many mories between us. I can’t believe she can easily forget , forget our feelings."
