Li Manman was really quite angry. They say that for n pursuing won, it’s like crossing a mountain, whereas for won pursuing n, it’s just a veil. But since last night, she’s been taking initiative, yet hasn’t seen this guy give any reaction!

Li Manman glared at Feng Yi angrily, then turned around and strode towards the private room. Feng Yi didn’t speak, just followed her with a silent smile.

Back in the private room, Han Xi looked at Li Manman’s expression as if consud with fury, then looked at the calm and collected Feng Yi, feeling a bit of a headache. It didn’t take much thought to guess that Li Manman had once again co up empty-handed.

After the al, Li Manman drove herself ho in a foul mood. Lu Jinghan dropped Han Xi off at the hospital entrance. Before getting out of the car, Han Xi ntioned that she had to stay on duty at the hospital tonight and couldn’t go ho.

Lu Jinghan initially planned to co and accompany her in the evening, but Han Xi refused. After all, she was at work, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for Lu Jinghan to accompany her every ti she was on duty; otherwise, colleagues might gossip behind her back over ti.

Upon returning to the hospital, the head nurse ntioned to Han Xi that many patients had co in today, and currently, the beds were in tight supply. Doctors were conducting check-ups on their patients, and if the results showed no major issues, they were advised to proceed with discharge procedures to free up bed space.

Han Xi went to her office to change clothes, then headed to Li Chenghao’s ward. Among her patients, other than Li Chenghao, the rest were in relatively severe condition and couldn’t be discharged.

When she opened the door and entered, Li Chenghao was standing by the window looking outside. Sitting on the sofa peeling an apple, Han Siyu looked up, her delicately made-up face with lips moving: "Xiao Xi, you’re here."

Han Xi smiled lightly and nodded: "I’m here to arrange for Chenghao to undergo so check-ups—if everything is fine, he can proceed with discharge procedures tomorrow."

Upon hearing her voice, Li Chenghao turned around, a hint of disappointnt flashing in his deep black eyes: "Xiao Xi, I feel that the wound occasionally still hurts; perhaps it’s better to continue staying in the hospital."

Han Siyu tightened her grip on the fruit knife, her lowered eyelashes effectively concealing the jealousy in her eyes.

He simply wants to stay close to Han Xi.

Han Xi looked at Li Chenghao helplessly, raising her hand to tuck a few stray strands of hair behind her ear: "Chenghao, many patients have co in today, and bed space is particularly tight. Actually, your health is already fine, you can totally recuperate at ho."

Having heard Han Xi say this, Li Chenghao couldn’t bear to make things difficult for her and reluctantly agreed: "Alright then, I’ll arrange for soone to process the discharge procedures first thing in the morning."

"Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be off first."

With a light smile on her lips, Han Xi turned to leave, but suddenly, she was tightly embraced from behind.

Han Xi was startled, Han Siyu was also taken aback, and the fruit knife she held dropped to the floor with a "clack".

Li Chenghao didn’t know what had gotten into him; perhaps the thought of not being able to see Han Xi daily anymore left him feeling hollow and uncomfortable inside.

"Li Chenghao, what do you think you’re doing? Let go of right now." Because of Li Chenghao’s injuries, Han Xi didn’t dare shove him forcibly and could only shout sternly.

Li Chenghao didn’t loosen his grip despite Han Xi’s anger, instead, he held her even tighter. His cheek was tentatively pressed against hers, and at the mont their skin touched, Han Xi froze entirely.

"Xiao Xi, just let hold you for a mont—just a mont is all I ask."
