Chapter 278: Battle of the Peerless

Translator: Alsey Editor: Chrissy

Moo!

The demon ox roared. The sound wasn’t made by Chu Feng but ca from the fluctuations of his fist intent. When one reached a certain level of proficiency with the Demon Ox Fist, the fists would erupt with black light and emit a mystical sound. The attack would not only damage the enemy physically but also spiritually.

This fist technique was truly special!

Chu Feng rushed through the air and covered a few kiloters with every step. He chased after the Cat King and bombarded him with attacks.

The Nine-lives Cat’s hair all stood on end due to the shock. The enemy’s speed was simply too fast. Chu Feng was even faster than himself, a peerless expert with six severed shackles known for his agility.

"Clang!"

He turned around and swiped his large claws, which were like dazzling sharp hooks which illuminated the void. The surging murderous intent it produced was penetrative like brilliant sword lights.

With a bang, an explosion rang out midair like a clap of thunder!

Chu Feng’s fist clashed with the giant claw. The fist was like a jet black bull charging upon the enemy.

During this clash, however, the Cat King was badly shaken. His agility was one of the best in the world but strength wasn’t his forte. He trembled all over and coughed up a large amount of blood after being attacked by Chu Feng’s most familiar technique.

Chu Feng hadn’t landed yet. He rushed forth from midair and his second fist ca crashing down upon the enemy. This was the Demon Flood Dragon Fist.

It was similarly enclosed in surging black lights. The left fist emitted the cry of a flood dragon, a sound which thoroughly shook one’s heart and spirit.

The image of a flood dragon could be seen rolling around this left fist. This was the true form of his fist intent. It erupted with a terrifying aura, poised to grind the Cat King to death.

Pfft!

The Nine-lives Cat raised his claws to defend, however, his body felt as if it was struck by lightning. He was flung away after suffering a strike from the demon ox fist then another from the flood dragon fist, bleeding from his nose and mouth.

As an expert with six severed shackles, the heavy injuries he suffered ca as a huge setback.

Swoosh!

The Cat King disappeared. He had used his stealth ability to flee.

Chu Feng frowned. He raised his divine instinct to its fullest extent as hs heart began to emit bright light like a sparkling and radiant sun, emitting large amounts of energy and vitality.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

Chu Feng’s heart began to beat like a drum. The sound could be heard clearly even across great distances. Any normal person nearby would surely be stunned in terror.

How could a person’s heart be so powerful! It was unimaginable.

His biological functions had reached their maximum capacity. The spiritual energy fused within the blood was also rising rapidly and was being guided by the special breathing technique to circulate furiously along with his blood energy.

"You can’t escape. I’ve found you!" Chu Feng shouted

He had raised his energy levels to their most powerful state with divine splendor pouring out of his pores. He leapt up once again and rushed out to pursue in a certain direction, raising his speed to five and a half tis that of sound. The air exploded as he ran, demolishing everything in his path like pulling out dried weeds. All the trees and rocks he brushed past were shattered.

The Cat King turned invisible and hid all traces of himself at the expense of reduced speed.

Boom!

It seed as if the air had exploded as Chu Feng broke through the sound barrier and arrived before the Cat King in a flash. He blocked off the latter’s escape and threw out a barrage of attacks.

"Aou, Moo!"

The roars of two primordial beasts seemingly reverberated across the aeons. The shock caused the void to explode as a black flood dragon and a bull appeared to suppress the region.

Chu Feng’s twin fists arrived with a montum that could suppress the whole mountain ridge. A majestic aura amidst the rolling fist intent caused the earth to crack open, destroying everything in its wake.

The Cat King howled. His fur puffed up and stood on end as he resisted the attack with all his might.

Thump!

His shoulders were bent under the incoming attack. The glow of his sharp claws diminished, and so of them even directly broke apart and fell to the floor amidst tallic clangs.

The Cat King was forced to the ground by a massive force. He was smashed down harshly by Chu Feng like a nail being hamred into the wall.

Boom!

The earth and rocks were blown apart. The Cat King’s eyes were frosty. There were nurous traces of blood on his body, but he was still calm and unperturbed. He disappeared once again with a swoosh.

Chu Feng gave chase after sensing a certain weak aura and attacked once again.

Chi!

However, this ti, the Cat King had only feigned a retreat with plans to retaliate. He decided to ambush Chu Feng after seeing that he had raised his attack power but lost the defensive golden bell.

He unpredictably flashed about and suddenly appeared behind Chu Feng as he began to attack. He leapt out of the void and swiped down towards Chu Feng’s back.

The Cat tribe’s attacks were all quite similar. He had used a standard "black tiger claws at the heart" move from Chu Feng’s back.

Clang!

However, he was shocked to find that a golden bell had rapidly appeared around Chu Feng once more and he was still indomitable like before. The Cat King’s attack had failed.

In truth, Chu Feng could freely switch between the Xingyi True Forms and his Demon Ox Fist.

The bell tolled pensively as Chu Feng switched back to his Xingyi Form.

The shock and recoil from the strike left the Cat King’s claws bleeding. He retreated once again after failing the attack.

"Where do you think you’re going?!"

The large bell covered his whole body as he tore through the air to give chase as if he was flying.

The Cat King felt quite distressed—he had never been so passive in battle. His assassination techniques were almost unrivaled in the world and had been successful in every endeavor. It was truly difficult to guard against.

But today, he felt like spitting out blood after being thoroughly restrained by Chu Feng.

"Don’t force my hand! I might have to pay the ultimate price, but I’ll definitely drag you down with !" The Cat King growled.

Within a split second, the color of his fur had changed from light yellow to snowy white. There wasn’t a single hair of a different color on his body as if it was refined from silver.

Roar...

The cat roared and spat out white light from his mouth, which, akin to sword intent, shot towards Chu Feng. Apparently, the strength of this attack had increased rapidly.

Clang! Clang! Clang...

The golden bell around Chu Feng swayed under the assault and was almost broken through by the white beams.

"This ager ability isn’t enough!" Chu Feng growled.

Chu Feng beca increasingly fierce. Under the protection of the golden bell which blocked the incoming white beams, he charged out to deliver yet another twin strike. A flood dragon and a bull intertwined and rushed out from his fists.

"Eh?"

The Cat King sensed significant danger. Chu Feng had traded his defensive bell for offensive strength. His hands erupted with black light and ford an impenetrable black wall.

This was the Demon Ox and Demon Flood Dragon Fist combination being perford to an astonishing level.

The Demon Ox Fist fluctuated wildly, causing the Cat King’s body to resonate. This terrifying rhythm was magnifying energy almost boundlessly and was poised to shatter its victim.

The Demon Flood Dragon Fist carried with it an unusual helical force which revolved from the inside to tear the Cat King apart.

Chu Feng was most familiar with these two fist techniques and, at present, were the most powerful ones at his disposal. The attack badly wounded the Cat King and tore his body into two, causing blood to spurt out in all directions.

"ow!"

A terrifying change ensued. Half of the Cat King’s white body turned black while the other remained snowy white. It looked rather eerie as if yin and yang, life and death had been separated.

This was especially true for his eyes. One was jet black like the abyss of hell, while the other was snowy white. The bitterness in them was absolutely terrifying.

Cats were considered spiritual and said to be capable of communicating yin and yang. They could supposedly see through life and death. Chu Feng sensed danger from the Nine-lives Cat in his current state.

Boom!

The air exploded as Chu Feng rapidly retreated. He had employed his divine feet to fall back at many tis the speed of sound, but he couldn’t outrun light no matter how fast he was. The Cat King’s eyes each shot out a beam of different color. One of those frightening beams was jet black, while the other a snowy white.

Goosebumps spread throughout Chu Feng’s skin. He sensed the power of yin and yang. He felt the rotation of life and death about to engulf him.

He couldn’t help but sigh in admiration—truly as expected of the Peacock King’s ally who dared do battle at the Pilgrimage Grounds. This opponent had caused even his blood to run cold after going all out.

Dang!

Chu Feng activated the Xingyi True Forms; six true forms materialized around him and rotated rapidly to form a protective golden bell.

The peaceful toll of the bell reverberated throughout the mountain ridge.

The six animals of the Xingyi Fist were carved on the bell’s walls which protected Chu Feng within. However, the danger wasn’t so easily overco. The yin-yang beam with its life-death energy actually pierced through the bell, unable to be stopped.

At least, the six animals couldn’t completely stop it and only served to weaken the two beams.

Boom!

At this dangerous mont, Chu Feng drew in large mouthfuls of free energy from the surroundings and circulated the breathing technique which Yellow Ox had taught him. All his pores spewed out blinding lights as he exchanged energy with the whole of the heaven and earth.

Suddenly, his body erupted with vitality. Even his spiritual energy was boiling.

He didn’t use any fist technique and was only following a certain instinct. He extended his body and crossed his arms before pushing out rapidly.

At this mont, boundless radiance burst forth.

It was as if a sea of golden colors had erupted from him to engulf everything.

Pfft!

In the end, Chu Feng’s arms were both torn by the black and white beams and he beca drenched in blood. His body, on the other hand, remained relatively unhard. It seed he had successfully defended against that energy.

In addition, the golden energy waves which burst out from his arms smashed into the Cat King’s body. The attack inflicted grievous wounds, distorting the latter’s body and breaking nurous bones.

"Huh?!" Chu Feng was astonished. He felt the vitality in his arms declining rapidly. The rotating life and death energies were consuming the essence energy from his flesh and blood, turning them into death energy.

Thump!

Chu Feng madly circulated his mysterious breathing technique. Soon, his arms spurted out black and white radiance as he forced them out of his wounds. Only then did the wound begin to wiggle and close up.

Chu Feng couldn’t help but feel frightened at the Nine-lives Cat’s excessive power. Any other person would die without a doubt. Even he had almost encountered a calamity.

The Cat King’s body had begun to change colors once again. His skin and fur were rapidly drying up, and his blood energy was withering as if he had suddenly aged a hundred years.

Apparently, the backlash from using this yin-yang energy was also disastrous.

"Die!"

Chu Feng raised his fist and launched a barrage of attacks.

"Aou..."

In another battlefield, the Manchurian Tiger was incomparably miserable. He was drenched in blood after being tornted by the Golden Crow. He was truly not the latter’s match and had co close to being killed on many occasions.

The Golden Crow’s strength was terrifying. He also possessed extraordinary intuition which allowed him to detect surrounding danger. He pounced upon them to launch a few attacks and then retreated soon afterward.

Otherwise, the Manchurian Tiger would be in grave danger.

The black yak gritted his teeth. He had wanted to activate the Buddhist Staff on many occasions but the Golden Crow only advanced montarily before retreating. His instincts were indeed terrifying. But it was also fortunate that he had the Buddhist Staff to secretly intimidate the Golden Crow, otherwise, the Manchurian Tiger might’ve fallen into deep trouble.

"Dammit, you’re just bullying because I only recently obtained a breathing technique and haven’t achieved proficiency! Co back in a month if you dare and I’ll pluck all your crow feathers clean!" The Manchurian Tiger loudly cursed.

But, he had to shut up montarily because a huge wave of golden feathers were flying towards him. He had to run frantically under what seed like a rain of arrows.

Boom!

The Golden Crow abandoned the Manchurian Tiger and made his way to Chu Feng. Amidst raging flas, he opened his large claws and grabbed at Chu Feng’s skull.

The grass and trees in the vicinity were reduced to ashes while rocks lted away, turning the earth into a land of scarlet magma.

It was as if the legendary divine bird had co into being in order to immolate the nine heavens and ten realms.

Boom!

Chu Feng threw a fist into the air to forcefully defend against the incoming attack while another fist was aid towards the Cat King to take his life.

Thump!

The Cat King extended a gigantic claw to block but was still reduced to a ss of blood and flesh. Chu Feng’s attack broke nurous bones and pierced through his chest before activating the spiral force of the Flood Dragon Fist which ground his feline heart into pieces.

The Cat King roared in terror!

The Golden Crow let out a long cry midair as his feathers began to glow. He couldn’t wait to tear Chu Feng apart.

Boom!

Chu Feng knocked away the Golden Crow’s claws with one hand. He withdrew his hand from within the Cat King’s chest before reaching for his neck and imdiately snapping it.

He was battling alone against two peerless experts!
