Capítulo 408: Chapter 526 — The Sky-Shaking Conspiracy

Chapter 526 — The Sky-Shaking Conspiracy

In the distant province of Songzhou, deep within the ancient estate of the Nie Clan, a courtyard lay veiled in mist and stillness. Beneath a carved wooden pavilion sat four middle-aged n, their auras faint yet vast—like dormant volcanoes that could erupt at any ti.

To ordinary eyes, they appeared as re n drinking tea.

But if the world knew who they were, a single glance would be enough to send ripples of awe across the entire Heavenly Origin Realm—for these were no common cultivators, but the heads of four Primordial Clans, ancient families whose authority could shake continents. Each held dominion over millions, each was a pillar in the pantheon of power.

A jade teapot sat upon the stone table, steam curling in delicate spirals. The tea’s fragrance drifted through the air, potent and transcendent; a single breath of its aroma could spark enlightennt in a lesser cultivator.

The Patriarch of the Pei Clan set his cup down with a faint clink.

“Brother Nie,” he said evenly, his eyes sharp as blades, “you wouldn’t have summoned us rely for tea. Speak your mind.”

The other two patriarchs nodded, curiosity flickering in their eyes. It had been tens of thousands of years since these four giants had last sat together—such a gathering could only herald an earth-shaking matter.

The Nie Clan Patriarch smiled faintly, his expression calm, though a glimr of ambition stirred within his gaze.

“Tell ,” he began softly, “what do you three know of the Immortal Physique?”

The words hung in the air like thunder.

At once, the others’ expressions changed.

“The Immortal Physique?” The Lu Patriarch frowned. “A body said to exist only in legends. Yet now two have appeared in our world—guarded like treasures by the Xuantian Sacred Sect and the Ethereal Immortal Palace. Who could claim ignorance of such a thing?”

Nie’s smile deepened. “And do you not find it curious,” he asked, “that both of these so-called Immortal Bodies… originate from the sa family?”

At that, even the impassive Cang Patriarch shifted uncomfortably. His patience waned. “Enough riddles, Nie. Speak plainly. Why have you called us here?”

Their tempers were not mild ones—each man was used to commanding armies with a word. Small talk was not their way.

Nie inclined his head slightly. “Very well,” he said. “Then I shall be direct.”

He placed his teacup down and looked at each of them in turn.

“All cultivators seek the sa thing—to ascend, to beco immortal. Yet for endless eons, ascension has remained but myth. The Immortal Physique, however, is different. It is not rely a gift—it is a bridge to the divine. If we can unravel its secrets, we may finally glimpse the truth of immortality itself.”

The others listened in silence. This much they already knew. What mattered was how far Nie was willing to go to obtain such a secret.

The Lu Patriarch’s eyes narrowed. “You intend,” he said slowly, “to wage war against the Xuantian Sect and the Ethereal Palace—to seize the Immortal Bodies?”

The question dropped like a blade.

Nie did not confirm nor deny. He only smiled—slowly, aningfully. “Tell , brothers… are you not the least bit curious why one family could give birth to two immortal constitutions?”

That struck ho. All three n fell into uneasy silence. The idea was irresistible. Even if the Immortal Physiques themselves were beyond their grasp, uncovering the bloodline that birthed them would be priceless.

After a long pause, the Lu Patriarch spoke again.

“Nie, even if we were to move, the risk would be imnse. The Xuantian Sacred Sect rivals your own Nie Clan in might. And the Ethereal Immortal Palace has ties to nurous other powers. Even if the four of us joined forces, the price of victory would be catastrophic.”

He was not wrong. Each hegemonic power in the realm possessed hidden trump cards—ancient weapons, ancestral spirits, and sleeping quasi-emperors whose awakening could topple mountains.

But Nie had already considered all this. His smile never faltered.

“Indeed. That is why we will not act alone. Interest in the Immortal Physiques spreads far beyond us. You’ve heard of what happened in Seven Kings City, and in the Icefire Secret Realm—how those two young prodigies eclipsed the heavens themselves. Even now, there are countless factions circling them like wolves.”

The Pei Patriarch leaned forward. “So, you propose an alliance—beyond our four clans.”

“Precisely.” Nie’s eyes glead. “Though it will reduce our share of the spoils, the risk to each of us will fall to almost nothing. More hands, fewer wounds—and a success rate approaching perfection.”

The Lu Patriarch’s tone turned thoughtful. “And who else, then, would you bring into this grand conspiracy?”

Nie answered without hesitation.

“The Red Moon Cult, the Seven Kings City, the Firmant Chamber of Comrce, and the Heavenlight Imperial Court have already agreed to join.”

The Pei Patriarch’s expression flickered. “That makes seven powers in total…”

He trailed off, stunned by the implication.

With four forces, victory was uncertain—a costly gamble.

With seven… the heavens themselves might tremble.

Seeing their hesitation waver, Nie pressed further, his voice low and persuasive.

“And there will be more. I have already sent envoys to several others. Tell , brothers—apart from the three Divine Beast Clans, is there any power in this realm who would not crave the key to immortality?”

That silenced the pavilion.

The three divine clans—the Phoenixes, the Dragons, and the Qilin—rarely ddled in human affairs. Aside from them, no faction would resist such temptation.

At last, both Lu and Pei exchanged glances and nodded, their decisions made.

But the Cang Patriarch slowly rose to his feet.

“My apologies,” he said, clasping his hands. “My Cang Clan will abstain. Matters at ho require my attention.”

His tone was polite, but his eyes were cold.

They all knew the truth. The Seven Kings City’s ruler, Cang Lu, was an old enemy of the Cang Clan. Any sche involving him was poison. And by that sa logic, the Yuyuan Imperial Court, also bound by blood feud, would never participate.

Nie did not press him. “As you wish,” he said smoothly.

The remaining three lingered, whispering plans into the shadows.

Before long, the tranquil courtyard, once perfud by tea, was filled with the scent of intrigue.

A plot that could shake the heavens was beginning to take form—

a plan that would pit seven of the world’s greatest powers against two sacred sects… and one unsuspecting family.

The storm was coming.

And far away, the Fang Clan, unaware of the gathering darkness, still basked in the warmth of hocoming and peace.
