Chapter 370: Breaking Into The Facility
Neraxis glided down toward the robot and sat on top of it. In the anti, he brought his hands inside its fra and pulled out a giant blue cord.
Imdiately, the robot stopped moving as it slowly tilted over and fell to the ground, yet Neraxis jumped off just in ti to avoid being crushed.
As for the man inside? He was fine. There was an ergency hatch that activated once Neraxis pulled on the cord, and now the man controlling the robot was stuck in a tal box with only a glass window separating him from Neraxis.
Neraxis grabbed the tal box and tore it open, revealing the man inside.
“H-Huh… hello?” the man muttered. “A-Are you maintenance?”
“Sothing like that,” Neraxis replied with a hum. “Say… where are you keeping Lana and Rara?”
The man stared at him for a few monts before tilting his head. “…Who?”
He’s lying. Neraxis sighed. “Look. If you wish to return to your family, then cooperate. Because if you don’t, I’ll make sure you turn into space fertilizer.”
The man flinched. “I-I can’t… there’s a contract, and if I speak, I…”
“He’s under an oath,” Evangeline chid in. “It’s a demonic contract. Basically, if he were to spill so information that he was told not to, then his heart would explode.”
“So how do I get around that?” Neraxis asked. “Should I turn him into a vampire so he doesn’t die even if his heart explodes?”
Evangeline’s brow rose. “That’s definitely one way of going about it, but no. There’s an even easier way to deal with it.”
The mont she finished speaking, she glided down and appeared in front of the man, then tapped on his forehead.
In the very next instant, a faint trace of mana pulsed out from the man and traveled up into the air.
But before it could get too far, Evangeline flicked her fingers, sending out her own pulse of mana that absorbed the one lingering in the air.
And with that, she dusted herself off and flashed a grin at Neraxis.
“I removed the oath. No need to thank ,” she said with a puffed chest.
Neraxis rolled his eyes with a smile, then turned back to the man.
“Speak.”
The man seed confused, but after a few quick monts, a single tear stread down his cheek.
“I-I don’t feel the curse anymore… thank you,” the man said quietly, then t Neraxis’s eyes. “Sorry… the girls you’re looking for are in our containnt facility, here…”
The man took out a scanning key from his back pocket and handed it over to Neraxis.
“Use that to bypass up to level 2 security. The lower levels have level 3 security, but you might be able to snatch it off soone,” the man added.
“Right, that’s nice and all, but I don’t exactly need it,” Neraxis said flatly. “I only need directions. Where is the entrance to this containnt facility you ntioned?”
“Oh, there.” The man pointed at a run-down shack in the far-off distance. “I understand it looks a bit off, but you need to trust . There’s a hatch leading downwards. Once you arrive at the bottom, you’ll be inside the facility.”
Neraxis nodded slowly. “You were pretty helpful, thanks.”
With that, he began walking away, puzzling the man.
“H-Hey!” the man called out. “How am I supposed to get back to my family? A-Also, you do know I won’t be able to breathe forever, right? If there’s no oxygen mask in sight, then—”
Before the man could finish his words, Neraxis appeared before him, grabbed him by the collar, and teleported him back down to his planet.
He placed the man in front of so police station in the middle of nowhere. Neraxis then teleported back to the moon.
Evangeline was already in front of the shack, inspecting it. When she realized he had returned, she simply punched the shack, destroying it completely.
Soon, a small hatch revealed itself, and without wasting another mont, Evangeline opened it, then jumped down.
Neraxis approached and followed after her.
The fall was surprisingly long, and it would’ve taken much longer had they used the ladder.
But after just 2 minutes, they finally landed. Around them was a completely white facility, and he saw multiple one-way mirrors scattered around, obscuring his vision.
There weren’t any doors at a glance, but when Neraxis approached the wall and punched, he revealed a giant corridor.
He saw multiple panels scattered around, and the sll alone made one thing clear.
This is one of the governnt bases, huh? Neraxis mused.
He had been inside a few in the past, and this distinct sll of an old hospital was practically engraved into his mind.
Nonetheless, now that he was inside, there was no need to hold back. He took a deep breath, raised his foot, and then swiftly stomped downward.
The floor shattered and collapsed, so both Evangeline and Neraxis began falling downward.
Yet each ti he landed on a new level, he stomped again, breaking it. By now, it seed like he heavily damaged the foundation of the building, as all it took to smash the ground was rely to land on it.
After a few minutes of doing the sa thing over and over again, he finally landed at the very bottom of the facility.
It was completely dark, and in front of the two of them was a glass cage. There was a single light bulb illuminating the inside, and once they walked closer, they saw a not-so-pleasant sight.
Lana was lying in the corner of the room, her hands and feet crucified by light swords, and as for Rara, she was lying in a bed, heaving heavy breaths.
Even through the glass, he could tell Rara was poisoned, as her breaths were both cold and a different color than normal.
So Neraxis ca to one very simple conclusion.
These fuckers are testing their regeneration… all because I turned them into vampires…
