"You ca back," Lagus remarked with a chuckle. "That was a very stupid idea, Neraxis."
"You think so too?" Neraxis asked, tilting his head. "But I feel like it's not too bad. After all, with all that strength of yours, you should've been able to easily kill , yet you didn't."
"Playing with food is what I do best," Lagus replied, stepping closer. "And at the mont, you're the main dish. How do you feel? Honored?"
"Repulsed." Neraxis shrugged before putting on a serious look. "How do I get rid of you?"
"Why don't you ask the magic lamp, dear Neraxis?" Lagus teased. "Killing is impossible. You know what else is impossible? To fully expel from this world."
"Why?" Neraxis asked. "Do you think you're immortal just because of the administrator privileges you once had? Or the fact that you can jump bodies at will?"
"Both, to be honest," Lagus replied. "As long as the concept of thought exists, so do I."
Neraxis's brows rose in amusent. "So you do have a weakness then. If you're in a world without laws, then you don't have anything to feed off. Is that right?"
Lagus didn't answer. Instead, he rely stared at Neraxis with a blank smile.
"I'll tell you a story, Neraxis," Lagus said suddenly. Before Neraxis could protest, he began speaking.
"When I was younger, Delta and I were incredibly good friends. So good, in fact, that we promised to marry each other when we grew up. Have a family, all of that fuzzy stuff."
Lagus's brows furrowed. "But when we grew up, she went ahead and found soone else. She even had a child by the na of Amara."
"Naturally, I was a bit angry, so I went to have a chat with her husband. But you wanna know what happened?" Lagus trailed off, his fists trembling. "He attacked . Apparently, he thought I looked frightening. So much so that even the child ran away upon seeing ."
"Let guess. You killed them both?" Neraxis cut him off with a frown.
Lagus tilted his head. "Well, of course. Why wouldn't I kill them after such disrespect? Delta was a woman, so she could always get another family."
What a fucking psychopath, Neraxis thought in anger.
"But anyways... there were a few other ventures I went through, and the most important one was starting a family of my own," Lagus announced with a warm smile. "I think my wife's na was Beatrice, or Bella. Sothing starting with a B... I forgot."
"Right..."
Lagus cleared his throat and walked closer to Neraxis before placing a hand on his shoulder.
"But I do rember the na of my son, Neraxis," Lagus stated, causing Neraxis's mind to blank out for a mont.
"...What?"
"Yeah, I know. A pretty terrible na." Lagus chuckled. "It's a pity I was away when she had nad him. Otherwise, I would've stepped in and given him the na Varus. The na of my late father."
Lagus sighed. "But you know what was the most troubleso? My son had my exact powers. In fact, he showed greater promise than ... but I could never have imagined he'd accidentally use those sa powers on his mother."
The mont those words were spoken, a sharp headache assaulted Neraxis.
And at the sa ti, a short flash that almost seed like a distant mory. Yet when he focused on that particular mory, it seed as if his entire body felt a pulling force, dragging him over to the location of that particular mory.
When he finally arrived, he was t with a peculiar sight.
His hand was outstretched, and out of it flowed the familiar black energy of destruction.
It was focused on a particular point, with that point being none other than a woman lying on the ground with half her face removed.
Slowly, the woman's face began disintegrating until eventually, there was nothing but ash left.
Then, not even a mont later, he heard a pair of footsteps behind him.
Even if Neraxis didn't want to, he couldn't stop himself from turning around. The mont he did, he was t with an extrely handso figure.
The figure looked practically identical to him with his white hair and purple eyes. Yet the number of scars riddling his face gave him an ominous look.
The figure was none other than Lagus, and soon, he spoke.
"My... You've actually gone and done it now, haven't you, little Neraxis?" Lagus chuckled. "You killed the blabbering idiot. I'd say good job, but who's going to take care of you now?"
Before Neraxis could even open his mouth, Lagus continued.
"I've got so work to attend to, little Neraxis, so do you want to grab so food or sothing?" Lagus asked. "I have a few rations from the other worlds you might like."
Seriously...? Neraxis thought in wonder, and as if he didn't have control of his own body, he opened his mouth and spoke.
"Dad... what happened to Mommy?"
"You killed her. But it's fine," Lagus assured, patting Neraxis's head. "I'll get you a new mommy, one that doesn't blabber so much."
"But..."
"No buts," Lagus cut him off. "Unless you want to live with the wolves, I suggest you shut that annoying mouth of yours and co eat."
After a brief mont of silence, Neraxis nodded through a sob and took a glance at his arms.
They weren't bloody, and they didn't even have a single freckle on them.
And yet, he had just killed his own mother.
Nonetheless, little Neraxis walked over to Lagus, who suddenly pulled out an old-looking piece of bread and handed it to Neraxis.
"I got this after killing a troll. Apparently, if you dip it in blood, it adds a rich texture to it," Lagus stated, and suddenly slashed his own wrist, causing a bit of blood to drip onto the stale bread, dying it in red.
Little Neraxis gulped, then glanced at Lagus, who had a wide smile on his face.
"Dig in. I promise it's tasty."
