Neraxis glanced around. Within minutes, after the building fell and he killed the strong protector, all hell broke loose.
The people were running around, trying to escape into their cars.
However, the mont they did so, Neraxis rely slashed his sword at another building, causing it to fall on horde of people.
They were all roughly E or D ranks, most were civilians, and so were aspiring Awakened.
But under Neraxis's massacres, they were all the sa.
He watched on, and suddenly, he noticed one of the people jump up from the crowd and throw one of their sickles right at him.
Neraxis extended his sword forward and gently tapped the sickle away, surprising the person who had thrown it.
It was a woman with fiery red hair, and he could see the hatred in her eyes.
"Why!?" she yelled. "Why are you doing this!?"
"Because there's no other way," Neraxis replied flatly. "You're just unlucky."
[I don't think that's the best expression,] Evangeline comnted teasingly. [Maybe go with, I have committed to the Sun God, and thus am willing to put my life on the line for them.]
What are you even saying? Neraxis tilted his head. Do you want to speak in my stead?
[Nope, I just realized how stupid it sounded, good luck with the rest,] Evangeline added, before falling silent.
Neraxis let out a sigh as he glanced toward the red-haired woman who was trembling in anger.
"Just give it up. You can't kill , and I can kill you," Neraxis stated.
"I won't give up..." the redhead muttered as she reappeared in front of him, sickle in hand.
She swung it down, attempting to cleave his head in two.
However, Neraxis rely stared her right in the eyes as he raised a single hand, catching her sickle.
Then, he applied a tad more pressure, shattering the entire blade.
"As I said, I believe you're only prolonging your suffering. Look down," Neraxis pointed to the people—so who were crushed by the buildings yet remained alive. "They're alive all because of you, but do you think they want to be alive? Especially since they lost such crucial parts to themselves?"
"What kind of grounded bullshit is that?" the redhead shot back, before bringing her hands together and clapping.
The mont the sound of clapping entered his ears, Neraxis felt like sothing was off.
And he was right, since his vision suddenly doubled, which made him see two of the redheads.
Of course, she took advantage of this mont, and by bringing her sickle down, she stabbed him right in the heart.
Or so she would have liked to think, but Neraxis rely moved his heart to the side by using his vampiric abilities.
"Headaches? Wow, you sure are a special one, aren't you?" Neraxis remarked, as he tensed his muscles, shattering the remaining sickle. "But if that's all, then just move."
"That's not all." the redhead grinned, and just as she was about to clap her hands again, Neraxis swiftly swung his sword sideways, cleaving her hands clean off.
She didn't even let out a scream, but the shock on her face was clear.
Neraxis shot her one last glance, as he sent a single {Expert Stab} right at her forehead.
Brain matter exploded outward, and Neraxis could only sigh in disappointnt.
He was not getting any more killing notifications, but according to Evangeline, the progress was still going up.
That ant, as long as he killed a few more strong people, he would actually be able to get a decent skill.
Nonetheless, he was a bit surprised by one thing.
I feel way too calm... my heartbeat isn't even irregular.
He couldn't even tell how many had died from the debris, but the number was definitely in the thousands.
And yet, there wasn't even a single shred of remorse—almost like it was natural.
Neraxis shook his head at the uncomfortable thought as he glided down.
The woman's body had long landed on so other person, and now, it was ti he actually sped up the process.
He walked up to a stack of corpses and used his vampiric abilities.
Imdiately, dozens of massive rat-like monsters erged from the corpses and gathered around Neraxis.
They were all golden in color, and despite him being pretty far away, he could feel the scorching heat coming off them.
But of course, it didn't affect him much, as he was their creator in the end.
Therefore, Neraxis gave them a single instruction.
"Kill everyone you find."
Of course, the two girls helping him, Liza and Fiora, were exempt.
Now with the constructs running toward the remaining people, Neraxis flew back up into the sky and decided to cause more mayhem.
He approached the tallest building in the entire city and began slightly shaving away at its structure.
Then, with a simple push, he toppled the building, and like a domino, it began falling on each building below—toppling it, and moving on.
Finally, an entire cardinal direction was nothing but debris, and every single person there was eliminated.
As for the other direction, he noticed a single person trying their best to save others.
A healer.
Surprisingly, she was reviving the dead, so Neraxis had no choice but to intervene.
He used {Sword Dash}, appearing right behind her, and before she could even react, he stabbed the sword straight through her neck.
"Kgh!" Her muffled groan rang out, but to his surprise, she hadn't died.
I'm sure I hit the artery? Neraxis thought, as he quickly infused his sword with {Aura of the Abyss}.
As he did, the girl—who seed resilient—began lting from the neck down, until there was nothing left except a single strand of golden hair.
—H-He killed Arya!
—Nooo! What about the other protectors!?
—S-Sarah was killed, and Alto was burned alive... this guy is a real demon...
Neraxis's brows furrowed as he turned his attention to the people beside him.
"Sorry about this," he said, stretching his sword out to prick a man's finger.
And in the very next mont...
The blood from the man, as well as everyone nearby, pooled into a golden orb, and in the midst of the panic, exploded—sending shards of light everywhere and killing everyone in sight.
Neraxis let out a sigh as he stretched his mana out, looking for more people.
A couple were hiding, so barely alive, and the rest were trying to escape.
Therefore, he flew back to where Liza and Fiora were, before approaching Fiora in particular.
There was one thing he wanted her to do, and that was...
"Shrink the barrier."
