The lizard man acted quickly.

When the spikes that erged from his armor pierced the robotic insects, the latter swelled like balloons, to finally explode.

Upon exploding, the robots released a powerful toxic green acid, which began corroding the lizard man’s black armor.

But the reptilian warrior wouldn’t allow the acid to reach him.

He quickly manipulated his armor ’s tal and made it separate from his body before being completely corroded by the acid.

However, the lizard man wasn ’t going to give up his armor so easily.

The latter manipulated the tal that was on the floor.

When the energy ray fired by the spider robot destroyed part of the cafeteria ’s floor, the lizard man manipulated part of his armor’s tal to create a tal network on the floor that would allow him to hold himself up.

However, now that tal was manipulated to return to the lizard man.

The black tal joined his back, forming liquid tal wings that kept him suspended in the air.

As he did so, the spider robot ’s pieces dismantled, becoming blue particles, ether, which returned to its owner.

The ether particles this ti built again a futuristic armor that surrounded Jeremy to protect him.

"Looks like the acid does work. Good, let ’s see what else I can use," Jeremy comnted, more confident now that he had found a way to overco the lizard man ’s defense.

However, the latter was already ready to attack, and he did.

The lizard man took a large gulp of air as he extended his tal wings, which suddenly propelled him forward.

However, the lizard man held his breath a little longer.

The tal quickly surrounded the lizard man as if it were a drill, and right at that instant, the lizard man expelled from his mouth a stream of plasma.

The energy stream spun the drill and propelled it, causing the lizard man to shoot toward Jeremy like a spinning drill propelled by plasma.

Jeremy barely had ti to react.

He didn ’t expect the lizard man to recover so quickly.

He quickly summoned multiple barriers of pure solidified ether, barriers shaped like diamonds joined together.

However, the barriers didn ’t hold. They were broken in an instant, and the lizard man managed to reach Jeremy.

That drill of tal and fire pushed the hero and made him go through several walls as it spun, trying to pierce through Jeremy ’s armor.

The latter tried to concentrate the armor at the point of impact to make that area denser and more resistant, seeking by all ans to diminish the impact ’s force.

But it was useless. The drill ended up piercing through the armor and finally reached his chest, finally perforating.

However, Jeremy made a desperate move, creating several thrusters on his back to push him to the side.

Jeremy shot to the other side, unable to prevent the drill from making a deep cut and burning him with the plasma it released.

However, he managed to survive.

Jeremy crashed into the wall. With his chest destroyed, part of his bones visible, and much of his body exposed.

"S- shit," Jeremy could barely say, using his last breath to curse.

His situation was critical. However, there was hope.

The ether changed shape again, transforming into nanorobots that began healing Jeremy ’s wounds.

Those tiny little robots were capable of repairing tissues or replacing damaged tissue with artificial tissue.

Undoubtedly very advanced technology, but it would be useless at that instant.

Because the lizard man was still alive and took a large gulp of air.

It was ti to finish everything.

The lizard man prepared to expel a lethal plasma stream that would end Jeremy ’s life.

However, just before making the final attack, a purple energy chain appeared right in the lizard man ’s mouth.

Like a muzzle.

When the lizard man prepared to fire that plasma stream, the latter accumulated in his cheeks unable to exit, until it made his mouth explode.

After such a blow, the lizard man fell to the ground dying.

"Sorry about that, but I thought it was my turn to intervene," Aku said with indifference as he walked through the multiple rooms through which the lizard man and Jeremy had forced their way.

They had moved quite far after going through multiple walls.

But the boy had advanced enough.

The demon king had been observing the combat.

He was in no hurry to start fighting.

However, a strange idea filtered into his mind.

Why didn ’t he participate?

Well, the answer was obvious. It was convenient for Jeremy to die, so letting him die was a good option.

Moreover, Jeremy himself had ordered him not to intervene.

However, sothing felt wrong about that decision.

Sothing didn ’t feel right.

Would a hero do that?

The demon king wondered. At that mont, Aku was thinking with his demon king mind. However, wasn ’t his goal to beco a hero?

That was the path the demon king had chosen. To be a hero and have many epic adventures.

However, Aku wasn ’t acting like a hero at all. He acted cold, calculating, just as a demon king would.

He was nothing like Alexander, the true owner of his body.

He wasn ’t cheerful or jovial, nor did he try to save everyone or always do the right thing.

He just did what was convenient.

But that wouldn ’t make him a hero. That way he wouldn’t be free.

Aku realized he wasn ’t taking his hero work seriously.

He was still thinking the sa way, still acting the sa way, only seeking the freedom a hero has, but not the responsibilities a hero must have.

Right now, Aku had the opportunity to save soone, but he wasn ’t doing it because it was inconvenient to leave that person alive.

That was sothing worthy of a demon king, not a hero.

If he wanted to be a hero, he had to start acting like one.

"Don ’t worry, I’ ll save you," Aku announced with a dry tone and a very artificial and uncomfortable smile.

The truth was it looked very strange. He still had much to learn and improve.

The lizard man suddenly stood up. His face had already regenerated.

Apparently that regeneration was problematic, but Aku had the solution.

"[Putrid Reaper]," the boy said as he opened the palm of his hand.

At that instant, a series of purple rays appeared, materializing a long katana.

It was a katana without a guard, with a black edge, deteriorated and rusted.

However, as soon as Aku began delivering azoth to the weapon, the edge seed to rejuvenate.

Suddenly, purple cherry blossom petals began falling from the blade.

That was one of those weapons the demon king could only use when he had a considerable amount of Azoth, because otherwise he wouldn ’t be able to wield it, or its powers wouldn’t activate.

On his side, the lizard was already preparing too. Leaning forward, flexing his legs, while the black tal he had left beca a claymore sword.

The demon king observed that sword. He had been reading and learning the lizard’s combat style.

He knew what would happen now, so he adopted a position similar to the lizard’s, with bent legs and leaning backward.

Quickly the demon king increased his cognitive capacity, preparing for what was coming.

The lizard shot out at incredible speed, as always, so fast he seed to teleport.

At the sa ti, the lizard man brought his sword down forcefully in a descending cut.

Aku also acted, but didn ’t shoot forward. He shot backward.

Yes, the demon king propelled himself with his front leg backward, barely dodging the lizard man’s cut, but it didn’t end there.

The lizard man quickly propelled himself with his back leg forward, shooting out at great speed.

The lizard man was quite fast, enough to surpass Aku. However, right after making the cut, it would be almost impossible for him to move away in ti, and so it was.

Aku managed to be fast enough and made a horizontal cut using the strength of both arms together with all his weight and acceleration to manage to pierce through the scales of the lizard man’s neck.

The hard and dense black scales of the lizard couldn’t protect him from that cut, which penetrated through his scale armor and managed to separate his head from his shoulders.

But not only that. Seeking to avoid any regeneration, Aku had used a special sword with a curse that completely decomposed flesh, as if it were violent necrosis.

The lizard man’s flesh blackened in the cut area very quickly and even began turning to dust.

Aku simply returned the sword to his pocket dinsion.

He had won the combat.
