The demon king took a bite of the brownie, imdiately feeling unimaginable happiness and pleasure.
The cake was soft and sweet, but inside were laminated nuts that gave a crunchy touch to the interior.
The chocolate flavor invaded his mouth and brought out a small smile. That food was undoubtedly delicious.
However, not everyone was enjoying themselves at that mont. Jeremy was having a hard ti.
He knew it. If Aku ignored him, he would be the one left humiliated.
Jeremy had never t soone who didn’t fall for his provocations. Generally, he always had fun in bar fights in the other world.
And he always won, obviously. His power as a hero was unreachable.
Though on the other hand, that had been his big problem, his great weakness.
Jeremy was extrely strong, but that gave him a confidence that ended up betraying him.
At first Jeremy acted very differently. He was more responsible and determined.
But power ended up corrupting him. He started wasting ti fighting in bars, visiting brothels, or drinking until he passed out.
It started as sothing mild, almost harmless, but in the end he beca a slave to his own desires.
Seven years had already passed when the demon king arrived at the kingdom he was supposed to protect.
Jeremy believed that with his imnse power he could face the entire demon king’s army, but it wasn’t so.
The demon king, unlike him, had been gathering forces, and even if Jeremy tried, he ended up being overwheld by the demon king’s nurical difference and strategies.
Jeremy had fallen, but he didn’t bla himself for his own mistakes either.
Quite the opposite. In the admission trial he proved to be very superior in power level compared to other heroes.
That inflated his ego.
Made him feel invincible.
And even if he ended up losing due to that sa confidence, Jeremy didn’t rethink his own ideas. For him, everything he did was right.
However, now Jeremy was encountering sothing he had never seen before.
A person who didn’t pay attention to him, a person who was going to humiliate him at his own ga without doing anything.
Jeremy couldn’t let that happen. He couldn’t let others see how he was humiliated.
What would others think?
He couldn’t let his image be tarnished that way, so he had to provoke Aku in every way possible.
Only that way would he clean his image.
"Mmm? You don’t answer? Then I’ll assu you like albino monkey. Fine, I’ll call you that from now on," the man mocked with a malicious smile.
It was a masterful play.
If Aku didn’t respond and kept ignoring him, he would be admitting he liked being called albino monkey.
Or at least that’s how it worked in Jeremy’s head, but the truth was the demon king wasn’t even listening to that man.
Aku was too busy savoring that delicious brownie, so Jeremy received no response, which made him more nervous.
"It was delicious, Claire. Could you offer another similar food?" the demon king asked calmly.
Claire, who was nervous about a possible fight breaking out, felt relieved that Aku wasn’t paying attention to what Jeremy was saying.
But it was really normal.
Aku was logical by nature. Even if he were paying attention to what Jeremy was saying, he wouldn’t have felt insulted by him.
After all, the insult Jeremy was using was "albino monkey."
But Aku would find that ridiculous, since he obviously wasn’t an albino monkey.
Unlike Sylvie, who attacked him with things he could doubt or that did cause him complexes, Jeremy was saying things that could only be interpreted as incoherent.
The demon king had no doubt in his heart or complex about being an albino monkey, so those attacks weren’t going to work.
Moreover, at that mont Aku was much more attentive to discovering new food than to what Jeremy could say to him.
Jeremy was annoying, but if he didn’t pay attention to him, it was as if he practically didn’t exist.
Jeremy himself noticed that lack of interest, which made him feel more enraged.
Aku kept ignoring him, exposing him in front of the entire cafeteria.
Jeremy felt cornered, forced to take desperate asures.
"Hey you, are you ignoring or what?" Jeremy insisted, bringing his face closer to Aku.
The demon king turned toward Jeremy again, looking at him with total indifference.
"Did you want sothing? If you’re hungrier you can ask Claire. There’s no need to go around begging," the demon king responded coldly.
Jeremy felt his blood boiling. He was being completely humiliated. That was undeniable.
None of his tactics were working against Aku. However, then an idea occurred to him.
If attacking him didn’t work, he could use others.
He already knew it. n with partners are very easy to anger when you attack their won.
Jeremy used to humiliate them and then steal their partner in the process, completely humiliating them.
A smile drew itself on his face.
"Sir, I ask that you stop bothering the custors and calm down. If you’re not capable of doing that, I invite you to leave," Claire said coldly as she handed Aku a plate full of small pastries filled with cream, whipped cream, or chocolate.
The man saw an opportunity at that mont. Aku seed to know Claire, so he would surely act if he was disrespectful to her.
"Invite out? I’d gladly accept if you co with . You know what I an. We could go to a more private place and do so ’exercise,’" the man proposed suggestively.
The truth was Claire was totally the type of woman Jeremy liked.
Voluptuous.
If she had curves, Jeremy liked her.
In contrast, Claire’s reaction wasn’t very positive. She stepped back, making a disgusted face.
Jeremy wasn’t really ugly, but a man acting like that wasn’t very attractive, rather repulsive.
"I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to decline your offer," she said with a disgusted tone.
Though that didn’t disappoint Jeremy, who didn’t take long to grab the woman by the arm.
"Are you sure? You look like the type who likes action," the man insisted, acting more aggressive now as he watched the demon king from the corner of his eye.
How would Aku react?
