There are very few people that Vacuse wanted to kill in the most painful way he could.

His father was one of them, Blood Spike as well, and maybe so very other people.

But there, in the Great Dungeon, Vacuse wanted to destroy those who enslaved him, and the only one he could put a na and face to was Supervisor Kim.....at the mont anyway.

He barely controlled his killing intent and bloodlust as he stared at the man that suddenly stood in front of their little group.

As far as he could tell, the man was also a Magus, but he must be quite a very pitiful one for him to have the job he had. Either way, he could cause a lot of trouble for Smiling Slave’s escape plan.

But Vacuse was left shocked when the thin supervisor swept into a bow, his eyes glittering. He didn’t even look at any of the slaves. "Everything is as it should be, my lady."

Vacuse felt a chill down his spine then.

He was wrong. He was so damned wrong about Smiling Slave and everything that surrounded her. At first, the two leading theories he had were that she was a student on punishnt in the Eboncrypt academy and the other one was that she might be a spy.

As it turned out, not only was she a spy. She must also be a very dangerous one.

’... I must be careful now....’

Smiling Slave... Lady Slave nodded and led the way again.

What Supervisor Kim said about everything being as it should be soon beca apparent.

There was sothing wrong in the night air, a sense of death that was far different from what being in a castle full of dead bodies and necromancers could provide.

And soon, they began to see it.

The guards that should be on the lookout around the different areas.... were dead.

Vacuse shuddered as he realized that it must have been poison. It must be the food that they ate.

And as Lady Slave led them to the tallest tower in the castle, more and more people joined their little group.

So of them appeared to be workers like Supervisor Kim, but so appeared to be Magus.... the real deal. And they all bowed to Lady Slave.

’....ah....fuck...’

It seed things weren’t going to be easy.

Soon, they reached the tallest tower where a monster crouched at the top. It was also the first ti that Vacuse would be taking a closer look at the thing that almost killed him.

’....ah.... I forgot to add that shitty thing to the list of what I want to kill in the most brutal way....’

The monster looked like a giant bird. In fact, it was a giant bird, but it had no hair on its body and its skin was made of multicolored light that twisted the mind if one looked at it too long.

The group didn’t pass through the front door. Instead, they went around to where a secret door was waiting, but instead of climbing up... they went down.

One of the Magus created a small ball of light that allowed them to walk down the stairs without darkness.

Down, down, and down they went, passing multiple hallways.

Now that they were climbing down, the Magus as well as Lady Slave were talking among each other.

"They really are bold, there’s not a single guard here."

"And that’s because they don’t need one. The prisoners themselves are the prison, and their bodies won’t move past their designated areas."

"Can’t lie, the Eboncrypt had mastered the art of flesh manipulation in ways we’ve not even started on. That was how they were able to create the monster that’s currently above us."

The more they talked, the more Vacuse was certain that Lady Slave and her little friends ca from Umbracrypt and they must have been dormant undercover spies that were now triggered to do sothing.

Possibly sothing to do with the ending of the war between the two academies. And that girl must be soone important in Umbracrypt.

Has the war truly ended?

Vacuse really didn’t care though. What he cared about was his own survival.

And soon, his survival or doom appeared.

They had reached the floor they were going.

Without hesitation, Lady Slave led the way, and fortunately the hallway wasn’t a long one. But there was sothing different.

"Don’t touch the walls." One of the Magus warned.

The very air was pulsing as if it was alive, the sll of rot was thick, mixing with the moisture that made the skin crawl. And the wall.... Vacuse recoiled when he saw it.

The walls, both sides and above, were red and alive. They were made of red soft flesh.

Everyone made sure they didn’t brush against it, even the Magus took extra care. And luckily the hallway was big enough.

"We are here." Lady Slave sighed and stopped. "Finally."

They were at the very end of the hallway. And another weird wall stood in their way.

It was mostly made of the sa flesh. In the middle hung a mouth that was pressed thinly closed.

Vacuse blinked.

Now what?

Things began briskly and without making a show of things or any hesitation. The Magus began their preparations.

One of them took a red stone and began to draw large elaborate angles on the floor. Each stroke was like a line of blood as angles and circles began to take shape.

So of them surrounded the slaves while Lady Slave herself lood over where the shape was getting drawn, directing things.

The atmosphere in the hallway was now tense. Added with the location, even the most hunger-filled stupid slave had already guessed that sothing was wrong.

One of them was finally bold enough to ask. "Em... eh... Lady? How are we going to get out of here?"

Lady Slave turned to the slave with her usual smiling expression. She pointed at the circle. "Through this. I told you, didn’t I? I promised to give you freedom. And that is what you will be getting.

"You just need to help in return. You see, I am trying to break into this room to retrieve sothing important. You help and I’ll help you."

Vacuse sighed.

Of course.
