Chapter 137

Zavien healed two of the supernaturals out of contamination of ABD in exchange for them to break the thick brick wall that separated the tunnel and the corridor. It was worth it, and he’d seen imdiately through the illusion the faerie made. It was a smart trick, but nothing escapes his eyes. He could see through it, even the glamour that she fronted whenever he tried enough to look past it.

He used his energy to get inside by distracting the hunters with his light. It would take a toll on him as he had already used so of his healing ability. But he just knew that he couldn’t leave them alone. He knew he could help these people who were fighting for their freedom. And he would be happy to do so.

He’d adjusted his radiance so that Carn wouldn’t hurt her eyes upon looking at him. She was on the floor, bleeding and hurt. The hunters were currently distracted for not seeing the surroundings, but any minute, they would try to attack them despite any hindrance.

"Co on. Get up." He held her by her hand, and he lightly touched her injured shoulder. It healed instantly; the bullet was ejected on its own.

Carn stood up and wanted the prince to let go of her, but his touch was so soothing. It was like he was giving her a massage without the need for his hands roaming all over her body. And she couldn’t help but wonder how it would exactly feel if he did so.

Seriously, Hira? You were thinking about that freaking now? How preposterous!

She chided herself inwardly. They were in the middle of chaos, and her mind still had the audacity to think of such things.

Carn felt the flowing energy in her and the strength creeping back to her veins. She wanted to start fighting back with the enemies. To hurt and kill them. But the elf held her arm, not too tight that he was hurting her, just enough for her not to go anywhere.

"I had to take them down." She hissed at him. They started walking, but the prince snaked an arm around her waist and held her wrist.

"Stay by my side." He replied, unbothered by her hostile tone.

"They’re shooting at us," she snipped, but she walked along with his pace.

The enemies had started shooting randomly at them. Zavien received bullets in his body, but her pulsating magic was healing them constantly. And Carn was shocked by what was happening. They were hit by gunshots, but even she only felt a slight sting from the bullets, and they didn’t even penetrate her skin.

"Wow..." She couldn’t help but be amazed and raised her eyes to et his gaze. Utter adoration for the being that was holding her was shown in the way she looked at him. "I’m bulletproof." Disbelief in her voice.

She was glowing as well. Up until now she didn’t realize how powerful the prince was. Their healing capability and its extent.

Zavien’s lips quirked up a little from the faerie’s reaction at him, but he had to focus, so he turned his eyes back in front of them. To the battle that was currently comncing.

"Conserve your energy." He mumbled. He squinted his eyes and could see that the hunter’s attention was divided at them, for they were trying to open the double doors up ahead. And so of the n were covering for their allies.

"Shouldn’t you do that as well?" Carn replied beside him. She was trying hard to keep up with his long strides. The prince was almost a foot taller than her. He could be.

"You’re much needed when we get there. To teleport us all out."

Carn hated to agree, but he was right. The more powerful the being she had to teleport, the more draining it was. He alone could be half of her power even if she was in her full condition. Added lisca to that; the woman was powerful in her own as well.

And the prince was feeding her energy. She wondered how much he could keep it up. He was vibrating with it for protecting their bodies from any attack. And she could see so needles that were fired in their way. They weren’t able to prick their pointy end at them.

"How are you doing this? Surely, you’re not ABD-free." She asked as they were nearing the end of the hall.

Enemies started to co on them, and Zavien gave more of his power. He created a barrier so that no one could co near them. The hunters were desperate for even attacking blindly at them. But they couldn’t enter inside the white shield. It produces a transparent aura.

Zavien stumbled, his knees buckling. And the protective aura around them weakened for a second. His body wanted him to stop giving off energy. He was panting as beads of sweat were trickling down his face, down his throat. He was exerting too much.

Carn held his arm. "We’re almost there." She was worried for them. Another batch of reinforcents was coming from behind, the entrance to the supernatural room.

"Why are they unlimited now when I’d only seen a few of them around the camp?" She couldn’t help but voice out her frustration. She saw only a few distances from them that the hunters nearly succeeded in opening the door. She had no plan in stopping them from doing so. Only from entering it. She had to do sothing. "Focus on yourself, Your Holiness." She did not wait for his reply since she was determined to take down the hunters in front of them.

She left his side and he staggered but he moved close to the wall to get out of the way for the faerie to fight. His chest was heavily falling up and down for panting. He should stop using his ability but he wouldn’t. Or else he would be a burden instead of a help.

Inside the double doors, lisa didn’t know what was exactly happening outside but she’d wanted to breath for a minute. She took off the suit since it had served its purpose already. And she was sweating all over. She had been contaminated with ABD at last so it was no use to her anymore. She even took off her mask to breath properly. Didn’t give a damn care who’d rember her face after.

Nesa ripped the end of her shirt and dug a finger to her gun wound. lisca watched her for a mont. She was sohow surprise how the woman endured the pain of digging the bullet in her flesh without screaming or anything. Her face just winced. She had to give it to her that she had such reaction.

Then she binds it with the cloth in her hand to close the wound temporarily. She bet their wounds wouldn’t be able to heal instantly as they were inside the facility. Their abilities would remain void.

lisca resu taking off the extra protection in her and kicked the suit at the floor. She held her hand out to Nesa. "Give the gun." The woman automatically handed it to her as it was placed on her palm. She fished the extra bullets she had in her jacket pocket and charged it in the weapon. She looked for the speakers that were blaring the alarm nonstop and shoot at them at the two corners in the room.

The doctors shrieked and the standing ones earlier, now squatted down on the floor. So were pushing themselves close to the wall.

The noise finally stopped as the bullets left a smoke on its wake

"Don’t even dare if you don’t want to end up like those fucking noises." Her voice bood in the entire room. She’d wanted to kill every single one of them. They may not be hunters but they did agree to do their commands to open-up the supernaturals and make poison for them. They weren’t any different from the hunters. But she had to use her bullets wisely. She’d already wasted two. "My aim is certain." She growled and they responded with whimpers and cries in their fetal positions from where they were hiding.

lisca moved forward. It wasn’t as big as the first lab she had visited with Tyla but it looked just complete with equipnt and other things. Walls were white as usual. "Eye anyone suspicious, Nesa." She ordered the woman. She was focusing her attention for any door to look for the other supernaturals inside.

They had just walked midway in the aisle to the other door across when her steps halted. As well as her beating heart.

There, she found two transparent cells. They were side by side, only a wall was separating them. The occupants were pounding the glass barrier, and they were calling for her, crying even. Though, their voices didn’t reach her ears. But she could imagine it. She could hear them in her mind.

Her mouth fell open as her gun slid down from her grip. It thudded on the floor as her body was rooted on the spot. She forgot to breath.
