291 eting

Zhao Zhan and Yue Jiaojiao went to town one night earlier.

Now that the Hundred Flavors Restaurant had been handed over to Madam and Chen Xiaolang to manage, the shop didn’t need to be taken care of most the ti. Yue Jiaojiao had told Madam Chen how to make tofu buns, so as to add a fresh taste to the shop and keep the custors coming.

Zhao Zhan roughly explained what Chen Xiaolang was going to do.

The next day, they received a letter from the Rising Cloud Inn.

Zhao Zhan brought Yue Jiaojiao to a corner and sat down.

“Zhao Zhan, what brings you here today?” When Manager Li heard that Zhao Zhan had arrived, he imdiately ca out. “What would you two like to eat? Should I arrange a table?”

Nowadays, tofu could be bought by anyone.

The tofu that had been shared with Rising Cloud Inn was finally replaced. Although he was no longer the only one, he was still the best in Wangshan when it ca to whose tofu was the best.

The inn had gone from half-dead to full of guests. In addition, his daughter was now busy helping Zhao Zhan in Huai County all day long. Manager Li’s politeness towards Zhao Zhan improved by leaps and bounds.

Zhao Zhan turned his head to look at Yue Jiaojiao. “What do you want to eat?”

“There’s no need to trouble yourself. Just a few dishes will do.”

Yue Jiaojiao wasn’t here to taste the food today, so she kept staring at the door as she spoke.

“Alright, please wait a mont. I’ll get the waiter to make the arrangents.”

Manager Li could tell that they had sothing to say, so he quickly left after he finished speaking.

Chen Xiaolang appeared at the inn’s entrance at the appointed ti in the letter.

“Who is it?”

Zhao Zhan glanced at the guests in the lobby and couldn’t tell which one was the one.

“I’m guessing it’s the one who’s walking in from the door.”

Yue Jiaojiao looked at the door. There was no other reason for her to guess. It was simply because he and Zhao Zhan looked very similar.

Zhao Zhan was a rough man, and he exuded a fierce and brutal energy. The other party was not. The person was thin and wore a crescent-white robe. It wasn’t that hot yet, but he was already holding a folding fan in his hand and carrying a bookcase on his back.

He looked like a scholar who had not passed the imperial examinations for many years.

The other party walked over unhurriedly.

Zhao Zhan turned his head. All the muscles in his body tensed up, and he perked up his ears to listen for any movents behind him.

Chen Xiaolang was currently sitting opposite that person.

“Sir,” the man’s voice was gentle and without any temper, “I’m waiting for soone. Can you see if there are any other seats in this Hall, or should I wait here a while.”

“I know who you’re waiting for.”

Chen Xiaolang placed the letter on the table and pushed it back. “The person you’re waiting for will not co. He and his wife passed away in an accident many years ago.”

That person didn’t speak for a long ti.

It was so long that Zhao Zhan couldn’t help but turn back to look. He then said, “And you are?”

Chen Xiaolang did not say anything.

“No, you can’t be Zhao Zhan.” he shook his head. “Wenbei would never teach a child like you who has a bandit’s aura. Although, you don’t look like a bad person. You must have found your way back, right?”

Yue Jiaojiao couldn’t help but admit that his eyes were sharp.

How did he still have the ti to talk to Chen Xiaolang?

“You’re wrong.” Chen Xiaolang stood up. “I’ve already delivered the things. I’ve finished my business and should go back. By the way, don’t send any more letters or silver to Willow Village. No one needs it.”
