283 Honesty

Zhao Zhan lowered his head.

Suddenly, he felt a soft touch on his wrist. Zhao Zhan looked up and saw his lover’s soft and beautiful side profile.

“Doctor Sun,” Yue Jiaojiao grabbed Zhao Zhan’s wrist and placed it on the pulse pillow on the table, “Could you check on Zhao Zhan as well? I’m worried about his health.”

“I’m fine,” Zhao Zhan said in a low voice.

“Shut up.”

Yue Jiaojiao raised her eyes to look at Doctor Sun. “Doctor Sun, Zhao Zhan has taken the contraceptive pill. Could you take a look at his body and see if there’s anything wrong with it.”

“Zhao Zhan already ate it?”

Doctor Sun turned around and looked at Zhao Zhan in shock.

“Didn’t I tell you before that if a man were to take this dicine, it’ll be extrely harmful to the man!

“So won with sensitive physiques will feel abdominal discomfort after taking this dicine, but as long as the first two days pass, there won’t be any serious damage in the later days except for poor appetite.”

Doctor Sun criticized Zhao Zhan, but he still treated him with care. “He’s still fine.” Doctor Sun’s eyebrows were twisted before relaxing again. He retracted his finger and concluded, “I’ll prescribe a few prescriptions for him to recuperate. If you want children, you will have to wait until next autumn, which is slightly longer than a year.”

“We’re sorry for the troubles.” Yue Jiaojiao stood up. “We won’t disturb you any further. Doctor Sun, please have a good rest. Chengfeng, let’s go back to the backyard.”

Yue Jiaojiao beckoned Chengfeng to leave first. Zhao Zhan hurriedly walked over and said, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have kept this from you. I never asked you if you did this because you wanted a child.”

“Zhao Zhan!”

Yue Jiaojiao called out Zhao Zhan’s full na for the first ti.

His lover, who usually had a soft voice, didn’t have much of an aura when she got angry, but Zhao Zhan’s whole body stiffen.

“Can’t you tell that I’m mad?”

Yue Jiaojiao poked Zhao Zhan’s shoulder, not using much strength.

Zhao Zhan took a step back and grabbed Yue Jiaojiao’s wrist.

“Now I know what you wanted to say in the bedroom.”

She guessed it might have been sothing to do with Doctor Sun, but she didn’t expect Zhao Zhan to hide anything from her. This matter also involved a child, so Yue Jiaojiao guessed that Zhao Zhan must have asked Doctor Sun for the prescription to prevent pregnancy.

She knew very well that Zhao Zhan would rather take the contraceptive pills to prevent Jiaojiao from experiencing the after effects.

This fool, just because he heard Doctor Sun say that won should wait until after 20 years old to be suitable for childbirth, so he did this kind of thing!

More importantly, he was keeping secrets from her!

Although Yue Jiaojiao looked angry on the surface, her heart ached more than anyone else.

“Zhao Zhan, I should tell you why I’m mad. How do you feel?”

Zhao Zhan thought of the tornt he had just gone through. He looked at Yue Jiaojiao and said honestly, “I’d rather die to see you live.”

“I see.” Yue Jiaojiao broke her thoughts to him, “We can’t read each other’s minds, and we shouldn’t keep important matters away from the people that are close to us.”

“Zhao Zhan, we’re married. You shouldn’t have hidden this from , even if I know you did it for my own good.”

When Zhao Zhan was in a dangerous situation while fighting with a beast, he never cried out in pain or cried even when he was in a life and death situation.

But now, his eyes were red, and he was standing in front of Yue Jiaojiao with a helpless look on his face.

Yue Jiaojiao had made up her mind today to change Zhao Zhan’s bad habit of shouldering everything by himself. Otherwise, if she allowed him to continue developing like this, he might sacrifice himself behind her back in the future and she won’t even know.

Zhao Zhan stood in front of her, lost and helpless like an abandoned child.

Yue Jiaojiao couldn’t bear to see that happen. She took a step forward, grabbed his wrist, and placed it on her waist. Then, she leaned her head on Zhao Zhan’s shoulder. “Have you ever thought of the possibility that if I didn’t believe you today, and was confident that you had secretly fed

the contraceptive pill, I’d leave you?”

When he heard her ntion leaving, Zhao Zhan subconsciously exerted strength in his arms as if he wanted to embed his lover into his body. “I understand. No matter what happens in the future, I will not hide it from you.” He paused and continued, “And I won’t do anything that will make you sad again.” Zhao Zhan’s breathing subconsciously lightened, “Thank you for believing in .”

This guy… He was obviously smart enough to instantly understand the aning of Yue Jiaojiao’s words.

“It’s good that you know.”

“Zhao Zhan, actually, I haven’t thought about whether or not we should have a child,” Yue Jiaojiao said softly. “Other people’s words won’t affect . What I said to Doctor Sun just now was just to deliberately anger you.”

Zhao Zhan thought about how he had felt just now. His lover looked like she wanted to have a child and even began to suspect that there was sothing wrong with her body. The usually bright and beautiful girl actually looked a little listless at that mont.

It was like a flower that had just blood and suddenly withered.

Zhao Zhan was filled with regret. He really shouldn’t have kept it from her.

“This is the place.”

The two of them stood in the front yard and could clearly hear the movents outside the door.

The tal pieces at the door of the bedroom in the backyard made a clang. Zhao Zhan let go of Yue Jiaojiao in his arms. “Is Fang Tianliu here?”

“It doesn’t sound like it.”

A light flashed across her mind. Yue Jiaojiao held onto Zhao Zhan’s wrist and said in a soft voice, “It sounds like a different accent. I’ll go to the backyard and tell Madam Qin to stay in the room and not co out.”

“You stay with her.”

Zhao Zhan waited for Yue Jiaojiao to return to the backyard and close the corner door in the middle before opening the door.

“Zhao Zhan, we et again.”

Lin Chenzhi stood outside the door. “I went to your shop today and accidentally overheard so news. I heard that you’re going to hold an evaluation conference in Huai County soon? I don’t know if I’m qualified to participate in this event.”

Zhao Zhan blocked the door and snorted when he heard his words. “It’s just a thought for now. If you wish to participate, you can see if you et the requirents by sending in an application. As long as you et the requirents, you’re more than welco to co.”

“Are you not going to invite

in?”

“My family is of a small status and is not worthy of your presence.” Zhao Zhan rejected him directly. “If you only ca here to ask about this matter, then you can return after hearing my answer.”

“Listen.” Lin Chenzhi’s eyes turned cold. “I’ll be returning to Mobei in a few days. Are you familiar with Bei City?”

...

The attendant standing behind Lin Chenzhi handed him a booklet.

Lin Chenzhi raised his brows and looked at Zhao Zhan with a half-smile. “Please take this. This is a token of my sincerity. I’m sure you’ll change your mind after you see it.”

Zhao Zhan lowered his eyes to look at the book, then his sharp gaze t Lin Chenzhi’s.

“Thank you, you can leave now.”
