Altren walked in nervously. He removed the cap and smoothed down his sweaty hair. glancing back, he noticed Gwyn looking at him intensely. "I....."
"Sit," Gwyn just gestured to the dusty sofa.
Altren silently sat there looking up at him. he had so many thoughts in his head on how this hero revelation will work out, but now that he was in front of Gwyn he completely froze up. he felt only air escape his mouth as he opened and closed it.
"You look like a silly fish," Gwyn sat opposite him with a small smile.
"I.... Gwyn.. I..." he panted loudly, licking his dry lips. He was having a mini panic attack. How can he tell this man that he was Alta. that He was the one who he held tight on that rainy day.
that He was the one he had been infatuated with for a while.
How...
Gwyn walked up to him and stood over him. "do you want water or sothing."
"y-yes please.." he croaked.
Gwyn walked into the kitchen giving Altren so ti and space to think clearly. When he was in front of him, his mind just clears up and beco a blank sheet of paper. He simply could not even form a sentence.
"where did all my planning go.. he most likely knows who I am.. everyone knows at this point.... I just want to know what he thinks of .. does he hate ? like ? detest ? loathe ?’ he glanced back.
Only Gwyn’s broad back was seen from the sofa.
’Does he even rember that night we spend... does he like ? does he just think of as Kang’s friend... I want to know. I want to know so badly...’ he tightly gripped the armrest of the couch.
All of a sudden, a small snapping sound was heard and the sofa’s armrest just fell off.
"Fuck." he hurriedly picked it up and tried to attach it together but it was beyond repair. He simply could not fix it.
By then Gwyn was watching all his anticks with an unknown look on his face.
"I’ll get it fixed. I’ll even get you a new one. I’ve got money! I am rich!" he said in a panic. After saying those words he ntally berated himself for acting like a silly duckling.
He went silent, pouting.
"Here." Gwyn handed the glass of water to him. "the couch was old. So it’s okay... how’s Zhuzhu."
Altren glanced up, eyes shimring. ’ahh a common topic. How could I forget our beloved Kang?’
"He is good. He has been adapting well. You know sothing he is friends with small kids now. I didn’t know he was good with kids though. He was being so kind as he soothed that sobbing kid,"
Gwyn raised a brow. "I see."
"..." the conversation went dry again. He sipped the cup of water trying t think of new things to talk about....’ah Altren what are you thinking about? Just say it.. just say that you are...’
"You are Alta right?" Gwyn went straight to the point.
Altren almost spat out the water. It ended up spraying all over Gwyn’s lap. "I’m so so sorry. I didn’t an to. I’ll.. I’ll get it cleaned. Dry cleaned if I must.. I’m sorry..." he said Inn panic.
"it’s okay," Gwyn simply brushed away the water droplets. "You didn’t answer my question. Is it true?"
Altren placed the glass in fear he might drop it. "Will you hate if it’s true?"
Gwyn was silent.
Altren felt his heart slow down. Even the minute sounds of the couch’s creaking noise were amplified in his ears. he felt himself freeze looking up at Gwyn. He wanted answers.. he wanted to know..
’but what if he really hates .. will he.. cast aside.. will he forbade from eting him... I don’t like this.. I don’t like this. I never should have co here. I....’
"what does my like and dislike have anything to do with your identity." Gwyn calmly said.
Altren just peered at him. his words made it sounded like Gwyn had nothing to do with him. "y-you... do you rember that night in that warehouse... we.. we kind of.. did that.... I thought.. I thought you might hate ."
"you didn’t force to do anything." Gwyn leaned back on the chair.
"But Kang said you hate heroes. Wasn’t it because of ?"
"I did hate you once upon a ti. But you ended up saving my Zhuzhu from the snakehead. So I decided to forgive you."
Altren started to sweat. ’Should I co clean about that too? Shit, I think he might end up throwing out of I say it now... I’ll tell him late... later for sure.’ He wiped his sweat. "yeah... It was a coincidence that I ended up eting Kang. He is an amazing person. Haha..."
"He is. My Zhuzhu has been amazing from when he was a child. Even at the orphanage, he had been the one protecting in the dark. So, this ti I wish to protect him. Altren.. no Alta. are you a danger to him? you know he is a villain. You know he used to do many cri. So what will you do if one day it all cos to light? Will you stand by him or act as a hero should and arrest him?"
Altren leaned forward getting close to him. "if I wanted to be a hero, I wouldn’t be sitting in front of you talking so calmly. I want to be Altren. With you and with Kang. I want you to understand that Alta is just an identity. It doesn’t define . and when I’m presented with that choice, I will always choose to protect you and Kang. Always!"
Gwyn smiled softly. "that’s all I cared for. Get out now,"
"huh?" Altren just looked at him stunned.
"You said what you ca here for. Don’t you have a press et? Go on and o your job."
Altren stood up and hovered over him. "Gwyn.. do you understand what I just said? I will not only protect Kang but I will protect you too."
"Yes, I heard," Gwyn shrugged.
"Do you not realize why?" with a trembling hand, he gently reached out and touched his cheeks.
Gwyn was expressionless. that made him freeze in his tracks.
"I want to be more than just a brother or a friend... I want to be your lover,"
