Kang laid on the bed with his eyes tightly closed. Even so, he could not keep that grueso image off his mind. It kept repeating again and again, and again....
"Agh...." he flipped over onto his stomach and burrowed his face into the pillow. "stop! Just stop it."
"Huh?" a soft voice ca from behind.
Kang sat up in shock.
Altren was in the room, silently standing in the shadows.
"You creep, what are you doing in here? go out. I want ti to myself,"
Altren ca close and sat down on the bed. "Eh is this how you treat a worried friend? I ca to check up on you. I saw you following my uncle. Did he scold you? Question you? Don’t worry, I’ll try my best to shield your identity from him. It’s for the best,"
Kang peered up at him. "I killed soone. I’m not a harmless villain anymore... I deserve to be in prison.."’ he groaned loudly.
"When?" Altren curiously scooted close.
"You know when..."
"Oh that liquefied guy... it’s not so bad. You only tried to protect Lia. It’s our duty as heroes to stop villains by any ans possible"
Kang sat up and glared at him. "I’m a villain Altren, that doesn’t justify MY purpose. Just like , that villain must have had families and loved ones. I.... killed him,"
Altren didn’t have any word of comfort. Instead, he sat there awkwardly. "I have killed too.."
Kang peered at his slouched back. "When?"
"so many tis... I’ve lost count. They call heroes the saviors. But what they don’t know is that these hands are always stained red. The villains we kill do have loved one’s families, children. But Kang, if killing them can save thousands of lives, would you not do so? They killed thousands just yesterday. The ones implicated also had families and friends.. if we use that logic we won’t be able to fight anyone."
Kang nodded. Altren was also right. Everyone was right in a way. He sighed loudly, flopping onto His back. "I don’t know... it was just shocking,"’
"It’s like that. The first ti you see a corpse you’ll get used to it,"
Kang scoffed. "Never. I don’t want to get used to it. I’m not a hero, Altren. I never will be. Neither am I a villain. I don’t want to hurt innocent. I don’t want any trouble."
Altren smirked widely.
"What?"
"What, what?" Altren innocently tilted his head.
"You’re smirking like a fool,"
"oh that, it sounds funny. I’ve seen you rob banks and jewelry shops like a pro. It’s hard to believe you’re willing to change,"
Kang sighed loudly. "It’s... Gwyn wanted to do the robbery. I just wanted to have a peaceful life, you know..."
"Your bother might have a change of heart now that you have gone missing. The last ti I saw he was ready to go to jail... he was ready to sacrifice anything for you. That poor guy, I couldn’t even give him a proper answer."
Kang held his hand. "Don’t tell him. That bozo will bulldozer his way in..."
"I know. He’s reckless. That’s why I didn’t reveal anything to him..." Altren suddenly peered into his eyes. "Do you want to see him?"
Kang sat up straight. "Can I?"
"I an... we have to be careful, but if so.. I can sneak you out..."
"Altren~" he hugged him tightly. "You’re my best friend man, thank you so much!"
"hehe. I know I’m the best." Altren patted his head. "Exactly at ten pm co to my room. We’ll sneak out,"
"done~"
Kang packed a few things in his room and was ready to leave. Just sitting on the bed he watched the clock waiting for it to turn ten.
Exactly at ten pm he bolted out of his room to Altren’s room and knocked softly.
Altren secretly opened the door and pulled him in. "did anyone see you co in?"
"no,"
"good," Altren tossed a small bundle at him. "quickly get changed,"
Kang peered at the clothes. It was a black t-shirt and pants. Even Altren was wearing the sa clothes. He swiftly changed into them. "What’s the plan? What are we going to do?"
"I.. I guess we just run,"
"huh? you call that a plan,"
"Well I have electric powers, so when we reach the gate I can easily absorb so. At that ti, you can jump over. right now the gatekeeper is wounded and one of the teachers would be substituting him. If it is a lenient teacher we can leave easily," Altren suddenly paused and glanced back. "We are coming back. we are just going to visit your brother and co back,"
"What! That’s was not the plan. I want to leave right now!"
"You can just visit him, Kang but if you leave, you will be in grave danger. Not only you, your brother also will be implicated."
Kang bit his lips anxiously. "I hate it,"
"I know you do, but what we are doing is very risky. If you escape out there, then they will co search for you at your ho. Your brother will get caught and...."
Kang gestured for him to stop. "Fine I’ll... co back,"
Inside, he was scheming what to do. If he could get a small gap, he could easily escape out of here and back ho.
’Maybe I can run away from this city with Gwyn. We can go to the rural area where the hero academy does not have any influence. Maybe we can start a small farm. Yes, I like this idea,’
