The signal turned green, and the cars started to move in an orderly fashion. Suddenly Yuri felt a sharp headache. he applied soothing balm to his head but the ache only got worse.
"Yuri.... you’re back" a soft husk voice whispered in his ear.
miraculously the pain disappeared instantly.
Refreshed, Yuri opened his eyes and gazed at his side. that scheming woman was biting her fingernail and looking down at her lap. it was not her who called out his na. but soone else.
it was a familiar voice.
They were in a soundproof car. it was not possible for anyone outside to have called out to him.
"Did to say anything," he gazed at the driver.
"No sir,"
Frowning, Yuri gazed out the window. a Porsche was driving adjacent to them and soon it sped up and left them in the dust.
the headache reappeared with fury. And along with it ca his heartache.
It was as if he had lost sothing precious.....
His chest was stuffy...
He patted his chest and concentrated on the files in front of him.
"Yuri! You have to know, it’s all because of you," the woman hysterically shouted, suddenly surprising him. the woman next to him had started to shed crocodile tears again. Even though she tried to look pitiful her cries only just made her look disgusting.
Bai Yuri coldly raised his brow. "What now?"
"We were married for four years, but you never even laid a finger on . Why on earth did you even marry then? It was your mother who ca begging to . It was you who agreed to marry . But why did you have to punish so? What sin have I done for you to trap in this marriage?"
Bai Yuri gazed at her with his brows raised. Her eyes, which were teary, were filled with killing intent. she had been playing a ek rabbit all along and now she was finally revealing her claws.
He smiled mockingly. ’a trap? I’m trapping her? fine ill free her then, thereby freeing myself from this mockery of a marriage,’
it was ti he ended this farce. his mother would object, but he was willing to deal with his whiny mother rather than face this woman every day of his life.
The past four years had been so difficult for him. Even going to his own house beca such a bother.
his own ho beca so strange after she arrived. Every day he would stop by his door only to feel a crushing feeling of disgust and sll the nasty scent of death that surrounded the place.
he cannot get rid of it.
at first, he thought it was sothing wrong with the house, but no. it was this woman. she had a very vile scent of death to her. it was like rotting blood and flesh. Even with layers and layers of perfu, he could still sll it.
only he could.
"you did this! I did everything for you. I gave up my youth for you. I gave up my ti for you but you left in a cold house... I didn’t want to derail but... I was so lonely. I wanted soone to talk to. I wanted love. I just wish you could look my way with love at least once." she reached out to hold his hand.
Bai let him.
the woman had a satisfactory look. "let’s put the past mistakes in the past. lets work together to fight for our marriage."
Yuri nodded thoughtfully. "Hmm... let’s get a divorce." he held her hand one last ti before flinging it away. "I don’t want you to waste any more ti on . Find soone else who can give you love., "
Ruelle’s whole face went stiff. Her fake tears had stopped instantly. "w-what did you just say?"
Bai Yuri softly chuckled. This woman was hilarious, for sure. "Divorce."
Ruelle tried her best to hold her smile, but she couldn’t. This was fucking ridiculous. This bastard was asking for divorce! A divorce!!
Even though all that rage, she pitifully looked up at him. "w-why?"
"Don’t you feel it’s unfair that you are trapped? I’m freeing you. Just go on to your boy toys and enjoy your life. I’ll give you five percent shares of the company that would be ample enough for your luxurious spendings," he pointed at the limited-edition bag she was clutching in her claw-like hands.
Ruelle shook her head. "Your mother would never agree to this! Yuri, listen to , we can work it out. Marriage is like that we should not give up on each other."
he casually shrugged. "I can take care of my mother. And...." He looked her way with a cold glare. "Our marriage will never work out."
Yuri deal with his docunts with a small smile on his face. He did not know why but when he suggested divorce it was like a rock was lifted off his shoulders. He felt light. I gave him a sense of freedom.
The car fell into a very comfortable silence.
In about an hour or so they reached their hotels. The manager himself ca out to welco him.
"Sir we are so glad you have you here with us. A luxurious penthouse suit has been prepared for you. I hope you enjoy your stay here with us"
Yuri shook his hand. "Book another room. And make sure it’s far from mine," he gave a glance at her.
Ruelle’s face went pale.
Yuri felt his smile widen ever so slightly.
"Please co his way." The man led them through the main doors.
"it’s not a weapon!" soone scread out loud.
Yuri paused, glancing that way.
A young man dressed in slightly torn flannels was holding a rusted sword close to his chest. "it’s not a weapon. Look at how it’s rusted. It can’t even hurt an ant. Why won’t you allow this in?"
"Sir, this is a weapon. We won’t let you carry this in for the safety of our patrons." The attendee was explained to the young man.
the young man seed to be frustrated by this. "But I can’t stay without it! its a family heirloom. I can’t keep it just anywhere!"
as he said this, the young man looked up at t his gaze. His chattering mouth froze.
the sword is his arms started to shake violently.
The young man hugged the sword tightly in his embrace. "I... I have to go!" he ran out the door without looking back.
Yuri cast him a strange gaze and walked into the hotel.
Just behind him, Ruelle was frozen in her tracks. Her brown eyes shimred with a greedy light as she gazed at the young boy running out of there. ’Such a powerful yin energy! If I devour that, I can get strong enough to finally take this bastard down. It’s due ti I eat my fair share of yang energy. Divorce? Not even in a hundred years. Let’s see how you can even step out of our house.’
She ran after that boy. "Wait a bit,"
The young boy looked at her through his lashes.
"This sword you are holding, can you sell it to ?"
The boy shyly shook his head. "it’s a family heirloom,"
"Oh, is that so? But I really took a liking to it. her ei can give you this," she held up her limited-edition purse. "This goes for a million. Even if you resell it you will get at least two million for it."
The boy backed away, shaking his head even more. His wispy bangs moved slightly with each head nod. "s-sorry o can’t sell it...."
Ruelle looked at the boy with a slight frown. ’If I can’t buy it. I will just have to steal it.’ she put on that fake smile of hers and held his slender shoulders. "it’s okay. Sorry, I asked. I was just interested, that’s it." she nodded toward the hotel doors. "You were going in?"
"They didn’t allow my sword..." the boy shuffled his feet.
"With , no one can stop you." She pulled him towards the door.
The attendant gave her a look, but he did not stop them.
Jia Chen smiled widely at the young lady. She was kind enough to bring him in. Even though she was initially rude in the end she helped him out a lot. "Thank you so much," he bowed.
"You’re staying here, right? We must et up for a drink. The bars in here are well stocked with limited edition wines."
"Oh..." Jia Chen hugged the sword. The ghost general had a liking for good wine, so he shyly nodded. "Thank you again,"
"Don’t ntion it. I’m just helping out a young fellow," Ruelle smiled up at him. In her mind, she had already devised a perfect plan to finally conquer her husband.
