Lai dragged a reluctant Eric down to the basent parking lot. He couldn’t believe that he actually tried to drug a mber of the most influential family in this country. That was a close call. If anyone had spotted the doing that shady act, he would have lost his badge and this kid would have gone to jail!

He ntally prepared his mind to tell Haolei about everything that happened in this hospital.

Just when the elevator door opened, he saw a red-clothed figure walking over with a slight sway in her hips. Lai imdiately pulled Eric to a corner and hid behind a parked car. ’She is here again... she must relay love him. Fuck, am I wasting my ti chasing after her... why did this happen? Why did she play with my heart? I thought we loved each other....’

He felt the boy’s whole body stiffen.

"I-Is that your girlfriend?" the young boy whispered ever so softly with a slight tremble in his voice.

"Yea.... My ex-girlfriend." Lai said through gritted teeth.

Eric glanced back, eyes wide open. "She is definitely possessed."

"Huh?"

The elevator door closed. Lai pulled Jung out of their hiding spot. "What do you an?"

"She is definitely possessed. There is a very powerful ghost latching onto her." Eric shook his head in distress.

Lai frowned. "Is this one of your acts?"

"Fuck, no! she is not human anymore! That evil entity is powerful..." Eric closed his eyes. Even then he could feel the overwhelming black aura that flared out of her. That ominous death like energy was laughing at him evilly. Bloody stench invaded his nose.

Eric felt nauseous. He ran to a corner and puked his stomach’s contents. ’that ghost is powerful! I... I’m not that strong enough to defeat it.’ he wiped at his mouth, clearing the stains away. "Brother Lai I can’t help you with her. That thing is too powerful. I fear it might try to take my life if I get close..."

Suddenly, the missing piece of the puzzle fit together. "She is Ruelle? Yuri’s fiancé? Oh my god, she is his fiancé! That’s why he was covered in that black miasma! Fuck, we have to go up! we can’t leave her alone with him!" Eric dashed to the elevator.

But Lai was quick enough to grab a hold of him. "Whoa you can’t just waltz in there."

"I have to go to him!!! That woman will kill him! My Yuri is defenseless! He can’t fight back! brother Lai please... please you have to listen to ."

Lai let out a small sigh. "I’m sorry for this."

A sharp pain ca from the back of his neck and the next second Eric’s consciousness faded into nothingness.

Lai Tsu pulled the boy up over his shoulders and walked over to the car. He gently placed him on the passenger seat and strapped him in. suddenly a small thought ca to his mind. he took out the cuffs and cuffed the boy to the car seat.

"he is too suspicious. I can let him roam around freely." He called up Haolei slightly nervous.

The call connected. "Who did it go? Did you guys et Bai Yuri?"

"yes... we did. Haolei... do you rember the ti is saved your ass form being shot and got shot in my right butt cheek saving your life?"

"yeahhh why are you bringing that up?"

Lai let out a deep breath and continued. "Well... I would like you to rember that vital information when I’m telling you this."

"What? What happened Lai? Did sothing happen to Jung?"

Lai grimaced. "Sothing is going to happen to him.... I’m taking him in for questioning. his prints were on the blood-stained knife we might have to detain him too."

"Fucking hell! Lai! What the hell are you talking about? I told you not to do anything like that!"

Laid started to panic around. "but you didn’t see what he did. He laced the guards coffee with enema and then tried to drug that Bai Yuri kid with so shiny golden liquid. Fuck, it was weird, okay. I think he did so weird shit to you too hao. I’ve never seen you act so illogical before. He must have done sothing to you and I can’t let such a risky person out and about."

"LAI!!!" Haolei scread loudly. "You.... Jung his is not a dangerous person. He is a victim... he..."

"What if he is the killer? The bloody knife had his finger print alone. The blood on that knife matched the DNA of the bones we found in those ashes. He is a killer! A well-trained innocent looking killer! I... I cat let him go free. I’m sorry Haolei. Even if this strains our friendship... it’s okay. I’m only doing this to protect you."

Lai cut the call and got into the driver’s seat. His eyes fell on the innocent boy sleeping soundly. His mouth was slightly open and his lashed were trembling like little fans. he looked so tranquil and in peace. ’Nowadays killers can even look this cute....’

He shook his head putting that dirty thought away and drove to the police station.

In the parking lot he contemplated whether to take him in or not. This could an the end of his friendship with his childhood buddy. Haolei will forever hate him if he did this.

’but I can’t just let him roam alive... the victim were all killed with a high dose of sleeping ds. that golden liquid could have been sleeping ds. He could have been trying to kill Bai Yuri....’

He paused. ’I don’t have enough proof for that. That liquid...’ he pulled Jung’s hands close. The ends of his sleeves were slightly stained with that golden liquid. He hurriedly cut the sleeve off with a sterilized scissor from his car and bagged it in a Ziplock bag.

Lai then shook Jung awake.

The young boy looked around dazedly but when he realized his hands were cuffed to the car, he glanced at him eyes wide open in shock. "Brother Lai..."

"I’m sorry kid. We need to take you into questioning." he glanced at him silently. "You have the legal right to be silent, anything you say and do will be used against you..." he uncuffed him and pulled him into the police office.

Jung Shi looked quite betrayed. "why...."

"it’s law... I’m sorry." He took him directly over to the interrogation room and cuffed him to the table.

After that, he walked out of the room silently massaging his head. Regaining his calm, he walked in and sat down opposite him. "What is your na?"

Jung Shi glanced at him with tears in his eyes. Wordlessly he glanced away.

"There is no use being silent now. We found your murder weapon and we know that you burned that man’s corpse,"

Jung Shi frowned confusedly. "Huh? I never burned anyone... I..."

Jung Shi took a deep breath. "I... can I get a lawyer?"

Lai sat back sighing. "Only the guilty always do this. They start to squirm the mont the trust is out of the bag. They lawyer up in fear."

"I’m lawyering up to prove myself innocent. There is a difference, besides you are biased against . Anything I say will only seem like lies. I don’t want to talk to a hypocritical person like you. I request soone else." Jung Shi scoffed, wiping the tears from his eyes.

Lai coldly glanced at him. "I believed you, but your actions made question myself."

"You don’t understand anything Lai. Please get out and bring a lawyer and another cop cuz you won’t be hearing a word from if you are still the case investigator."

Lai Tsu gritted his teeth and stord out of there. Outside, Haolei stood there with a glare.

"don’t you create a scene? Let’s talk outside." He dragged his best friend out of the office. Behind the building was a small alleyway where cops hung out to smoke. Mid-day it would be quite sunny there, so no one hangs around there at this ti.

Lai finally glanced up at him. "You can hit " he closed his eyes.

As expected, a tight punch hit him right in the eyes.

Lai stumbled back down to the ground. His eyeballs were aching! "That was not what I expected at all."
