Author note: I’ve made a mistake. I’m too sick and I didn’t realize I posted a wrong Chapter.

Zhu Kang laid on the hospital bed peering up at the ceiling light. As usual, he found them to be obnoxiously bright. He let out a small sigh and closed his eyes.

Right then the door to the VIP room opened and the group f doctor marched in. they did a few testing all the while he pretended to be asleep.

"How is it?" he heard Aaron’s anxious voice. "Surgery, do surgery then. You can do it right?"

"We told you this the last visit. The tumor is too big. I’m sorry mister Aaron surgery is impossible."

He heard a heavy sound so breathing. "You.... You said that he can be saved. You said that. You said he will be okay... why. Why is he like this then? Did you make a mistake in your previous surgery? Did you leave a bit of his tumor in? tell !"

"s-sir.... I have warned you before. A tumor like this can return. We have no control over it."

He pranced around laughing sarcastically. "Get out. All of you, get out of here."

"We still have a few tests to do on him..."

"Just leave."

Zhu Kang cracked open his eyes and peered at his husband.

Yes, they were married. And for ten years now.

The wedding ceremony was the most extraordinary. Even he did not expect it to be so lavish. But mister Aaron here did not spare any buck. He brought a whole island off the shores to celebrate their wedding. It was the most beautiful thing ever.

He could still rember Aaron in his white suit. With his sparkling blue eyes and whitish blond hair, he looked like a freaking angel.

Just thinking about it brought a smile onto his face.

"How can you say that! You have to save him! Even.. even Eryst couldn’t save him.. you have to save him, please...."

Zhu Kang opened his eyes to see his lover slouched down holding the doctor’s hand.

He reached out and touched Aaron’s hand.

Aaron instantly ran to him. "Zhu... yore awake.. how do you feel? Does your head hurt?"

He silently shook his head. "don’t bother the doctors. Let them do their job,"

"but.."

"no buts. Just stay here," he gestured to the small cushion chair beside the bed.

Silently Aaron sat down.

The doctors did a routine check-up and left the room.

All the while Aaron kept glaring at them with vengeance.

Zhu Kang patted the space beside him on the bed. "Co up here," he had a few wires attached to his right hand so he made so space for him on his right.

Aaron climbed in, hugging him tightly to his body. "We will find a way to cure you. We will....."

Zhu knag was not that hopeful though. He could feel it. His death was close. In those ten years, he started to have symptoms. First ca the headaches. He thought they were normal, but it was not.

Then ca the blackouts.

he would randomly just faint and would not wake up for a while.

Then ca the numbness. He was not able to feel anything below his waist. Even for peeing and doing his other business, he needed assistance.

It was so embarrassing at first but he pulled through all this.

Then ca the sickness. He could not eat anything. every ti he ate food he would puke it out. Eventually, this led to him losing his weight drastically.

Zhu Kang feared even looking into a mirror to look at his skeletal figure.

Aaron’s warm breath hit his neck.

"did you have your breakfast?" he said tiredly.

Aaron nodded. "Were you able to keep down anything?" he leaned back and gently kissed his forehead.

He reached out and gently touched the black circles around his eyes. "hmmmm...."

truth be told, he puked it all out.

"where’s Lia?"

"he’s at school." Aaron whispered softly into his ears.

"call him here,"

Aaron instantly leaned back and peered into his eyes. "why?"

"why not?" he just smiled at him.

His husband relented. "ill call him here. but he can say back. That kid has been skipping school for too many days. His teachers are complaining."

"you’re too strict with him. Let him be. He has never failed any exams."

"Fine I’ll go and pick him up,"

His eyes started to droop. Blackness invaded his sense. He.. he was losing his sight.

Gritting his teeth, he sat up with difficulty.

"whoa whoa, why are you up?" he heard his brother whisper. He held him back on the bed. "where is that irresponsible husband of yours."

"he went to pick up Lia from school."

Gwyn laced a cold hand on his cheeks. "you look much better than before. Your cheeks have color now,"

Zhu Kang smiled up at him. He vaguely could sense the direction of his face with his voice and pretended to look up at him. "yeah.. I feel good. Where’s Altren?"

"at his work. Poor guy has been working his ass off."

"And you?" he smiled softly.

"I’ve been enjoying my life. Truth be told I’ve never been happier. It’s fun being a house husband," Gwyn chuckled.

Soon, a cold thing touched his lips. The sll of fresh apples hit his nostrils.

"Open wide."

He bit into the piece of apple and swallowed. Instantly he felt it all co out. He took a few deep breaths to hold it all back in.

"you okay?"

"never been better."

Gwyn stayed with him for a while but after Aaron and Lia returned his brother left to et up with Altren.

"Dad..." Lia ran over to him. He jumped into the empty spot in the bed and hugged him tightly.

"that’s my spot," Aaron tugged at his clothes.

"You had him for too long. Let hug my dad okay," Lia mumbled with a pout. "Dad... today I won the chess championship. Aren’t I aweso? Oh, and I also saved a kitten from being hit by a bus."

"You did a great job, safety." Zhu Kang blindly reached out and touched his face.

Since he was quite close, he was able to see his son’s face a bit.

His child had grown up to be a handso young teen. His black hair had slightly turned curly at the edges. his eyes which were gloomy and dull soon got a shine in them.

Lia really loved talking about his day. They made it their tradition to share everything with each other.

He gently touched his cheeks. "You shouldn’t risk your own life though. Make sure to be safe."

"I’m super strong dad. Don’t worry. Even if a truck hit nothing will happen to ."

He nodded gently. His son had super strength and had gotten his hero license in just the ripe age of fourteen. The kid was a genius.

"Okay ti’s up. Move." Aaron lifted him up with one arm and placed him on the sofa a little further from the bed.

Aaron then hopped in and filled up the space on the bed.

"So unfair. Why do you always interfere with my ti with dad? You’re so an, father,"

"He is my husband. I get the right to sleep with him," Aaron said with a grin/

"Well, he is my dad. I get the right to sleep with him too."

"Wrong. You don’t. now go back ho and finish your howork."

"But I finished them yesterday itself."

"Then finish all the workbooks I’ve brought you."

"gods." groaning out loud Lia left the hospital ward.

Aaron let out a small sigh. "Finally alone ti."

Zhu Kang chuckled looking up at him. "You really are an to him." His vision was completely black now. He was not even able to see anything that was right in front of his face.

Aaron noticed his weirdness. "Honey... is sothing wrong"

"Can... can you take out of here?"

He did not know how Aaron reacted. But he felt his husband’s hand tremble slightly.

"Please."

"y-yes..." Aaron got up and helped wrap him up like a burrito. He then carried him out of the ward. "Where do you want to go?"

"The shores."

He wanted to be reminded of the happiest day of his life.

It was his one last wish.

Aaron picked up a wheelchair at the entrance of the hospital and flew off to the nearby shores.

He gently placed him on the chair and rolled him through the sandy beach.

"Help remove my shoe please," he whispered softly.

Aaron did so.

Zhu Kang placed his feet on the cold sand. "Can we get close to the ocean?"

"We... we are already close to the ocean," Aaron’s breath ca out louder. He sniffled loudly.

"Oh...." Zhu Kang leaned back on the chair and closed his eyes. The salty ocean air hit his nostrils bringing back good mories.

This was the life he wanted. he was happy every single mont he was in this world.

The ten years he spent in this world were the best.

he reached out to him.

Aaron imdiately grabbed his hand.

"Aaron. I’ve led a very happy life. Thank you for being there with ."

"Don’t say that... please... don’t say that."

He heard Aaron’s sobs.

He gently reached out and touched his tear-stained cheeks. "don’t be sad. I have been happy all my life. I have no regrets."

Aaron hugged him tightly. "don’t leave ... please... stay with ,"

"Silly. Don’t cry," Zhu Kang felt his own tears roll down his cheeks. "it’s getting cold. Take ho please..."

He could feel it nearing.

His whole body was starting to numb down.

Sobbing Aaron carried him back to their ho. He sent Lia over to Altren and Gwyn’s place for the night and stayed with him all night whispering, begging for him to stay.

Late at night Zhu Kang closed Aarons; eyes. "Sleep. You have to rest."

"no.. no I won’t."

"Sleep, Aaron. Please."

After a lot of coaxing, Aaron finally fell asleep.

And soon after Zhu kang did too.

Forever.
