"Gabrielle and Stella are sisters. Both of them are core mbers of a very prominent intelligence agency. Stella always follows Gabrielle around to protect her. Don’t judge her by her appearance.

Although she is tiny, she is pretty dangerous. Therefore, do not go around provoking her. Also since Gabrielle is here, Alpha must have so matters to handle," Lucas explained.

"So matters?" Violet inquired.

"That is sothing even I have no clue about but am curious to know as well," responded Lucas with a smile on his face. "When Alpha is being this secretive, I have a bad feeling."

Violet leaned closer to Lucas and whispered, "Can’t we secretly try to find out?"

Her tone was tempting.

Lucas hissed. "I thought a good girl like you would be more concerned about privacy, Princess."

Violet frowned. She wasn’t a good girl although she did believe it was better to play safe.

Her phone then rang. When she opened it, there was a ssage from Jason.

"Alpha hasn’t been in the pack for three days now. Beta finds it suspicious and searching for clues, but he is unable to find any. He is frustrated over it. Bella is in the pack though, and she is assuring everyone Alpha is fine, simply away on business. But there must be sothing going on. He can’t be tracked."

She showed the ssage to Lucas.

"What trouble has he been cooking up?" Lucas muttered.

Violet shrugged her shoulders. It has been a complete silence. He wasn’t looking for her anymore, and now that he has suddenly disappeared, Violet wondered what conspiracy has been going on.

She was about to respond when Violet heard the knocks on the door. There was Stella standing there, leaning against the door in her skimpy nightwear.

Her voice was alluring as she spoke out, "Oh, you are here, Lucas, and here I was looking for you around the entire house. The bed is a bit cold tonight. Why don’t you co and warm it up?"

Imdiately, Violet got up from the bed and stood in front of Lucas, shielding his view like a mama bear protecting its cub.

Her tone then turned stern. "Lucas, Lydia has yet to return, and I am worried. It is dangerous for a young woman like her at night. Why don’t you go and receive her?"

Violet’s sudden concern had Lucas dumbfounded. "What can happen to her?"

It was a routine for Lydia to arrive late at night, and the woman was well-equipped to take care of herself.

"Lucas, isn’t Lydia a good friend of yours? You have known her before . Here I am, worried sick for her and you don’t care? After everything Lydia has done for you, it makes you a little heartless." Violet resorted to emotional blackmail.

"Alright, alright, you win, Princess. I will go and get her," Lucas said.

Violet smiled when he got up from the bed and walked out of the room.

"Also, don’t start a fight with her."

She then walked over to the door where Stella was still standing. Then, giving her a provoking stare, Violet smugly comnted, "Well, you will have to go back to your cold bed unfortunately."

The corner of Stella’s lips twitched.

"Instead of being interested in Lucas, could it be that you are trying to bring Lydia and him together?" Stella questioned, bringing her face closer to Violet and almost touching her tone.

Violet felt like a cat that was stepped on his tail. Her voice raised high. "What are you talking about? I just want to keep him away from you."

Then, Stella took a step closer to her, and Violet imdiately backed away.

"Does Lucas know you’re trying to bring him together with soone he openly dislikes? I wonder how he will feel about it," Stella pointed out.

"He doesn’t dislike Lydia. Although they fight, it is how they get along. It brings them closer." Violet knew that sounded like nonsense, but she wasn’t going to Stella have a win over her.

Then, noticing the ’got you’ look in Stella’s eyes, she imdiately added, "And I am not trying to bring them together."

"No matter what you do, Little Princess, Lucas will always like more than that loser. I am sure the only reason he interacts with her is because he has to.

After all, they live together or else he would probably not even spare her a glance. As for , I am Lucas’s childhood sweetheart. Even if he has a mate, at the end of the day, he will return to ."

Violet was irritated.

"Lydia is not a loser!"

The next second, she bumped her head against Stella’s hard.

"What are you doing?" Lydia asked in distaste when Lucas reached out to grab her bag from her hand.

Walking casually beside Lydia under her puzzled eyes, Lucas replied, "I do not know what is up with Princess. She thinks you will be in danger, being out so late at night."

Lydia furrowed her brows. "You don’t have to go along with her whims."

Lucas shrugged his shoulders.

"She will make fuss otherwise. She is such a child," comnted Lucas.

"You’re in no position to call her a child," Lydia retorted.

"And see, you’re always the one who starts a fight with . Then, Princess blas . Even earlier today, she scolded when you started fight with first over placing my leg on the table," Lucas expressed his frustrations.

Lydia looked at him bored as they entered the house.

Then, Lucas asked, "How did your work go? Do the packs still not want to cooperate with you properly?"

"Well, it’s as always, but I guess they started to trust a bit more."

Lucas stared at her in disdain. "You can only throw your temper around at . If they need your help, they should be begging you for it, instead of treating you like a monitored slave. For soone who acts smart, you’re pretty foolish."

Lydia remained quiet.

"Why do you have nothing to say now? And you know you can always give a call when they make matters difficult for you. A swing of my fist ought to fix that," Lucas added.

Lydia looked at Lucas in surprise. Her heart skipped a beat, and abnormal emotions clouded her eyes.

"And also, it would be great to have you owe . Princess always goes around saying how have done a lot for , and it’s annoying."

Lydia rolled her eyes instantly, and the emotions were all gone.

Her response was paused by the sounds of two people quarreling. Lydia and Lucas exchanged a glance before hurrying over to Violet’s room.

There they found Violet and Stella entangled together, pulling each other’s hair. There was a bruise on Violet’s forehead, matching that of Stella’s.

Lydia and Lucas instantly separated the two. Lydia held on to Violet, and Lucas pulled Stella back. Even then, Violet moved her legs around, trying to kick Stella.

Lydia’s solemn voice fell on her ear.

"Stand up straight, Violet. Are you forgetting you’re pregnant? What if you hurt yourself?"

"She scolded you first, and I wanted to teach her a lesson. Obviously, you’re better than this bitch!" Violet expressed.

It was not often Lydia and Lucas got to hear Violet curse. Therefore, this took them aback.

"Violet, I don’t care what others say about , alright? You shouldn’t either. Learn to ignore those who are insignificant," Lydia reminded.

Stella grabbed on to Lucas’s hand and scoffed.

"Lucas, let’s go to bed together and leave them alone."

Although it was minimal, Violet noticed how Lydia’s face dimd. There was no way she will let Stella steal Lucas away.

"Lucas, if you go with her, I will let Alpha know you spat on his food everyti he scolded you!" Violet shouted.

Lucas’s eyes widened upon hearing those words. He imdiately rushed over to Violet and pleadingly expressed, "Are you trying to kill here, Princess? I will not go anywhere, alright? I will stay here and read you a bedti story. Please, Princess, just don’t run your mouth around recklessly."

"Well, then, tell her to leave."

Lucas’s eyes fell on Stella. Stella understood there was no winning this. Therefore, she returned to her room.

"You don’t need to accompany . I can sleep on my own, but why don’t you cook Lydia a al? She must be hungry after working a long day."

Lucas sighed. "As long as you don’t kick up a fuss, Princess. There is only so much my heart can take."

Violet smiled innocently.

Although she knew she was taking advantage of her favor and acting out of line, since she could do it, she will do it.

Once Lucas and Lydia was out of the door, he comnted, "Is she reaching her puberty late?"

Lydia shrugged her shoulders.

"Give her a break. It must be the pregnancy hormones," Lydia vaguely responded although she understood Violet was doing it all for her.
