584 I’ll freaking kill you
Silence then fell inside the vehicle as neither of the two talked. Lexi and Ethan Lu had a mutual understanding on the law. Even if there was a witness, Dylan Lu wouldn't be put behind bars imdiately.
After all, the law was just yet sowhat full of loopholes. Even with Ethan Lu's influence, he couldn't bend it as much as he wanted to.
Ethan Lu might be favored and had close ties with so politician. However, that didn't an he could manipulate everyone. After all, the politicians he had ties with were righteous people.
They knew the boundaries of friendship and their disposition being a governnt body. They might let him slip in so minor cases and even consider his request, but the ga changes when it ca into major cases such as this.
"Love..." After so ti of silence, Lexi turned to Ethan Lu who was in a state of trance. When he heard her voice, he snapped from his own thoughts and looked at Lexi.
"Have you inford Lou about it?"
"Hmm..." Humming a tune, Ethan Lu nodded his head. "I left him a ssage and I also ordered to monitor Dylan."
Just then, Ethan Lu felt his phone vibrated from inside his pocket suit. Furrowing his brows, Ethan Lu glanced at Lexi before sliding his hand inside his pocket suit to pick his phone up.
Upon seeing Lyrick Jiang's voice, Ethan Lu imdiately answered the call while Lexi remained silent. "Yes?" He greeted.
"Master..." Sounding anxious and overly stressed, Lyrick Jiang called out which made Ethan Lu creased his brows more. "Sir Dylan could not be found. He was confird that he left the country earlier today. Master, I'm sorry." Frustrated, Lyrick Jiang ground his teeth as his grip on the steering wheel tightened and trembled.
"Shi...t" closing his eyes, Ethan Lu was lost of words as he had foreseen this coming.
Dylan Lu must have known that he was found out, thus he fled. The reason why Ethan Lu had been displeased about the slow action of the authorities.
"Find out which country he fled to — we'll bring him back to pay for everything." Ethan Lu breathed deep inhale and exhale before he sharply opened his eyes. For a mont, he forgot that Lexi was with him as he ground his teeth and was tempted to throw a huge fit.
This was upsetting in every level.
"Yes, master. We had been doing that and confirming where he had fled off. Also, Nico was coming back tonight."
"Update ." Shortly after, Ethan Lu hung up the call and was about to toss his phone out of the car. However, even before he could, Lexi tightened her grip on his hand which made his head turn to her.
"We'll find him." Lexi stretched her lips up a little and tried to cheer him on.
"Uh...?that f*cking bastard." Letting out another upset scoff, Ethan Lu ruffled his hair out of frustration.
After all, Ethan Lu knew deep down that Lincoln Lu was still lurking around, waiting for a chance to corner Ethan Lu.

Later that night in Mia Chen's precinct...
Ethan Lu's offer kept on replaying on Mia Chen's mind, keeping her awake till late at night.
"I'm only your only option to save your brother..." his earnest eyes as he uttered those words made her clench her teeth.
How could she even believe him? She hated Ethan and Lexi to the core. However, thinking of Dylan Lu, Mia Chen could not trust him either.
She kept silent and took all the bla, causing her to be imprison for a few years. All these sacrifices were because soone was watching his brother. Mia Chen knew that one wrong move, she would lose her brother.
Hence, although she was tempted to cooperate with the hateful Ethan Lu, she shrugged it off. For once, she didn't want to take a risk — a risk where her brother's life was at stake.
"D*mn it!" Grinding her teeth, Mia Chen tossed herself to the side, and shut her eyes closed as she kicked the air in annoyance. Now, her worries about her brother's safety amplified upon knowing the chaos outside.
After a short while, Mia Chen sensed danger and out of instinct, she jolted from her flimsy bed. Staring at the shadow on the bedside table, Mia Chen saw her cellmate holding a knife.
"F*cki—" Just as she cursed and before she could make a move, her other cellmate hound on her, holding her hands and feet, and then covered her mouth.
"Haha! You little b*tch, we finally got you cornered." The fat woman holding the knife maniacally laughed as she flung the knife on her hand.
Mia Chen scread albeit it all sounded as a muffled shout as the hands covering her mouth was using all her might. 'This b*tches!' She cursed internally.
"What did you say earlier? We need to strip to gain attention? Well now b*tch, guess who will be be naked all night?" A vile sneer plastered across their lips as Mia Chen's eyes widened.
As the woman ca closer, Mia Chen struggled to break free. However, although she was a forr rcenary, she couldn't get away from her heavy, ugly jail mates.
Soon, Mia Chen heard her clothes being ripped apart, which made her struggle even more furiously. Alas, a painful blow landed on her bare abdon to shut her up.
"Quiet, you stupid b*tch!" Through her gritted teeth, the woman with the knife slapped her out of her wits. Yet, Mia Chen only revolted.
To shut her up, the won beat her up, taking advantage of the fact that she was outnumbered and was in the midst of pain after the punch on her abdon; they kicked her, punched her, pulled her hair.
That night, Mia Chen was hopelessly beaten black and blue as she tried to curl into a ball?as she received every heavy blow. She could hear their every curses, despite the ringing sound on her ear.
After a while, the acting leader grabbed Mia Chen by the hair, revealing her bloodied and swelling face. "Rember this, your life is at my rcy. Do you know how many offers I got to kill you here? Don't act high and mighty because I am the one keeping you alive here." The woman spouted before she push her head back and spat at her face.
Mia Chen remained on the cold floor, bleeding from inside and out. Yet, her mind only registered the woman's last remarks; soone was ordering to kill her.
That instant, even before Mia Chen could lose her consciousness, she cursed Dylan Lu in her head. 'I'll fcking kill you, bastard.'
