"Senior, thank you for all the opportunities you've given so far," Minos said as he bowed his head and intoned with force, breaking the silence after they entered a more reserved room.
As Minos' three 13th stage subordinates looked at him in silence, Devdar smiled, not doubting the sincerity and gratitude in the heart of the boy in front of him. As uncomfortable as it was to have soone stronger than him treat him with such reverence, he accepted the gesture before helping Minos to stand up again.
"What I did, I did for . Besides, you earned your position yourself," said the tall, blond man, looking into the golden eyes of his newest heir.
Then, becoming more serious, but without losing his proud look, Devdar changed the direction of the subject. "But Minos, your journey is far from the stability you seek. You now have a throne and a domain in the Upper Realm, but with your immortality cos promotional bonuses and great responsibilities."
Minos beca more serious than Devdar himself, and couldn't help rembering what he had witnessed a mont ago. "I wonder..." He murmured before pleading, "Please enlighten on the challenges ahead, Senior."
Devdar nodded at him and then turned away, walking slowly to the balcony of the room they were in. While looking out over the beautiful landscape of Minos' domains, Devdar began, "The Upper Realm is totally different from Hell. Here, you won't have to fight to conquer territories within the dinsion. In fact, the realm is a safe haven for all of us Entitled Deities. No fighting is allowed."
Seeing Devdar look at him sideways, Minos understood why there were so many people there. "So that's it."
"But while the realm is peaceful and beautiful, the everyday friendliness here is marked by a level of subtle threats capable of getting the naive into big trouble." Devdar explained in a more serious tone, causing figures to form from his powers and represent the risks of the dinsion.
"We compete over everything in the Upper Realm. But if we don't fight here, does that an we don't fight anywhere? Of course not. There are purely political disputes, but the most important matters are always resolved directly or indirectly with force."
Minos wondered what Devdar was getting at and asked, "Is it in the universe that you settle your disputes?" "Not in the universe, but in the universes, on each of the planes of existence!"
Soli and the others listened in silence, as curious or more about the Upper Realm than Minos himself.
"I see." Minos looked down, rembering Vicente Fuller's dinsion. As much as there were many similarities between the planes of existence, he couldn't help but rember the significant differences between the place where he t Vice and everything he had known before that.
Devdar continued, "Minos, you are now part of the disputes of the Upper Realm in the sa way that you were part of the disputes of Hell during your journey through that dinsion. You're a novice, so the realm will see you as dependent on —this will pit you against my opponents, one way or another."
He paused, watching as Minos showed that he had expected sothing like this. Then he added, "You won't necessarily be dependent on , but few know your actual strength. Rember that in your early days here."
"Don't worry, Senior. I don't have such great pride that I can get annoyed by a few challenges." Minos smiled, not bothering to temporarily take soone's wing. "But I am interested in these disputes. I believe that before I ascended to the Upper Realm, I had so contacts with you rivals."
"Of course." Devdar nodded in agreent, creating with his powers busts similar to the major nas of the Upper Realm along with the symbols of their respective factions.
"There are over 5,000 Entitled Deities in the Upper Realm. So you can imagine that the number of factions here is not low." He looked once more at Minos as he showed with his fingers. "But only two of them are my rivals. They are the Celestial Cult and the Light Path, led by two of the four strongest in the Upper Realm.
The Celestial Cult is led by the strongest man in existence, Lydis. The Light Path is led by a fanatic, Sarey. Naturally, my biggest rival is Sarey, while, as much as there is a dispute between my faction and the Celestial Cult, I don't dare put myself on the sa level as Lydis to compete fiercely.
In short, you'll have the option of continuing by my side in the future or creating your own faction. But until then, everyone will associate you with the Divine Path and so you will be tested by our rivals and even faction mbers."
Minos left ntal notes to look at later when he had a chance to study his position and the full content of his position as a domain landowner.
Devdar moved his hands, and the images ford by the energy changed. "But that's the basics of internal relations. You can understand more by studying the library in your palace and visiting the realm's cities. Using your city will be better now, but know that all the realm's cities are accessible to all the Entitled Deities. Only the palaces and private areas are exclusive to those of your choice.
As for our external relations, naturally we are enemies of Hell in the struggle for immortality." Devdar represented life and death this ti, placing the dinsions and their respective mbers on opposite sides.
"Minos, you've been there. You know that the natural law of Hell goes against the law imposed by the Upper Realm. Immortality shouldn't exist."
"Hmm, you're not just fighting to be stronger and more influential, but to escape death," Minos said as he showed Hell's point of view.
"It's not that simple." Devdar shook his head and then sighed. "As you may have learned, there is no limit to the number of Entitled Deities. But that's not so true. We immortals are as nurous as we allow ourselves to be, or rather, as many as we can manage.
You may have understood that an Entitled Deity grows stronger with more heirs, which is why we seek to create legacies on the various planes of existence. But this doesn't co without a cost. If we don't keep a close balance with the forces of Hell, we are limited. That's why disputes and wars between dinsions are more common than you might think."
Minos and his three subordinates opened their eyes wide, hearing sothing like this for the first ti.
Devdar added sothing that would make the four even more surprised. "Minos, for every 13th stage Devil you assassinate, you'll be able to create a new throne for a new heir!"
