If you ntion President Roosevelt in the United States now, the Arican people will imdiately recall Theodore Roosevelt, who ruled over the United States more than a decade ago.

The Roosevelt family has over 200 years of history in the United States, not only giving birth to a president but also having many mbers who have been upper-class politicians.

This is not rely a political family, it is also deeply involved in banking and finance. Theodore Roosevelt’s father was a renowned importer and banker, which made the Roosevelt family one of the most famous in the United States, possessing wealth beyond the reach of ordinary people.

But all this changed with the start of the economic crisis. The export-import industry and the financial sector, which the Roosevelt family was substantively involved in, were hit hardest by the crisis.

This crisis caused significant turmoil for the Roosevelt family, almost leading them to the brink of bankruptcy.

If it were not for the connections President Roosevelt left for the family, the Roosevelts might have dissipated into the annals of Arican history like those bankrupt tycoons.

Likewise, the life of Theodore Roosevelt’s nephew, Franklin D. Roosevelt, was also sowhat affected.

Of course, with the connections of the Roosevelt family, not only was Franklin D. Roosevelt’s work unaffected, but his inco also exceeded that of the vast majority of Aricans.

At the mont, the future illustrious President Roosevelt was still an ordinary lawyer in New York. Because he had suffered from poliomyelitis a few years ago, sotis his wife would attend Democratic Party etings in place of Roosevelt.

If history had not changed, Roosevelt would beco the Mayor of New York in a year and would propose the New Deal during the next presidential election to secure the presidential position.

But in this world, all of that was clearly impossible now.

In January 1927, on a rather ordinary day, Franklin D. Roosevelt received an unexpected guest—his old Democratic Party friend, John Slickert.

"John? Buddy, what brought you here?" Roosevelt asked with surprise.

Like Roosevelt, John Slickert was a Democrat and they often t.

But ever since the economic crisis broke out, John had been busy handling his own import-export company and shouldn’t have had ti to see Roosevelt, which was the cause of Roosevelt’s surprise.

"What, can’t I co to see my old friend?" John asked with a smile.

"Of course, you can. Please, take a seat. Who is this?" Roosevelt noticed the young man following behind John and inquired curiously.

John was only in his thirties and was not old enough to have such a grown son. A young man who would accompany John everywhere was likely an intimate subordinate, if not his son.

Before John could explain, the young man stepped forward, shook hands with Roosevelt very amicably, and said with a smile, "Allow to introduce myself, respected Mr. Roosevelt. My na is Ike, a royal intelligence operative from the British Empire, and my mission is— to send you to et God!"

No sooner had the young man finished speaking than he swiftly pulled out a handgun from within his coat and fired several shots into Roosevelt’s chest.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

All of this happened in the blink of an eye, and neither Roosevelt nor John had ti to react.

"Damn, what have you done?" Looking at Roosevelt lying in a pool of blood, John finally ca to his senses and exclaid in shock.

"As you can see, Mr. John. With ticulous planning and your help, we have successfully assassinated Mr. Roosevelt," the intelligence operative nad Ike said with a smile.

"Fuck! What’s this got to do with ? We only agreed that I’d introduce you to Roosevelt," John said, panicked. He was indeed just an ordinary mber of the Democratic Party, with a small family business, but that didn’t an he could face down the law.

The Roosevelt family’s fortune was imasurably larger than his, and Roosevelt’s uncle had even been President of Arica. They weren’t even on the sa level.

"Do you think those police will believe you?" Ike asked with a smile, "They won’t care whether you’re innocent. Unable to placate the Roosevelt family’s anger, you’ll still end up as the scapegoat in the end."

"Damn it, what grudge did Roosevelt have against you? Assassinating a lawyer in New York, my God, this is indeed madness!" John said, nearly breaking down.

"If you want to bla anything, bla the fact that he was an obstruction to us," Ike said with a smile. "Now, my dear Mr. John, are you going to get in my way?"

Looking at the gun Ike was subtly raising, John swallowed and ultimately surrendered to his inner choice.

"So what do we do now? If the police find us, there’s no escaping," John said, a bit nervously.

Watching a murder unfold before his eyes had John, who usually found joy in squeezing his employees, extrely agitated.

His voice trembled slightly, revealing his obvious nervousness and panic.

"No rush, the person should have arrived by now," Ike said leisurely. He took out a cigar from Roosevelt’s pocket, used the scissors beside the desk to trim it gently, and then lit it with a lighter from his pocket. He took a gentle puff, exhaled a cloud-like smoke and slowly continued.

"What? Who has arrived?" John felt bewildered, not understanding the aning of Ike’s words.
