Chapter 1282: Chapter 940: Blow Up the Toilet Chapter 1282: Chapter 940: Blow Up the Toilet “How’s the situation on the front lines?” On the morning of August 28, the first thing Pri Minister Konoe Fumimaro did upon waking up was to ask a guard about the front lines.

“Everything is normal at the mont, Your Excellency,” the guard replied swiftly.

Today was the final deadline set by Australasia for all non-islanders to evacuate from the Island Nation.

Although the Island Nation’s Governnt and Pri Minister Konoe Fumimaro most likely believed that Australasia couldn’t possibly have another weapon of that sort, understandably there was still so worry in their hearts.

After hearing that everything was normal, Konoe Fumimaro finally exhaled in relief, slowly nodded, and instructed the guard, “Notify the Cabinet to hold a eting in the Governnt Building in half an hour.”

The objective of this eting was simple, to discuss how to fend off Australasia’s attacks in the coming ti as much as possible.

Half an hour later, as Pri Minister Konoe Fumimaro arrived in the eting Room, the Island Nation Cabinet Governnt’s eting officially began.

At the start of the eting, Konoe Fumimaro with a clearly more relaxed expression and a hint of a smile, began by saying, “Gentlen, it seems we guessed right. Australasia indeed doesn’t have more weapons, they only had one of those powerful bombs.”

Imdiately afterward, Konoe Fumimaro turned his gaze towards the Secretary of Army and inquired, “When can the training of our new recruits be completed?”

The atomic bomb had a massive impact on the Island Nation. In the military alone, the Island Nation had already lost nearly 400,000 soldiers.

Thankfully, the Island Nation had situated its army bases and training grounds on either side of Hiroshima. The bombed location was an army base housing a large number of new recruits, so the training grounds were spared significant damage.

But the loss was still painful. Among the 400,000 lost, over half were Type A and Type B Divisions, which were ant to reinforce Kyushu Island. With these forces lost, Kyushu Island would struggle to receive additional support in the short term.

If there was a choice, Konoe Fumimaro would rather lose nearly 700,000 new recruits than those 400,000 veterans.

Training new recruits would still take so ti, and ti was exactly what the Island Nation was short of at the mont.

“It will take roughly three months,” the Island Nation Army’s Secretary, Sugiyama Moto, imdiately replied.

“Too slow, still too slow,” Konoe Fumimaro shook his head, his gaze fixated on Sugiyama Moto as he spoke with an indisputable tone, “I’ll give you one and a half months. I want to see at least a million new recruits ready for battle.”

If you miss the opportunity for combat, I trust you understand the responsibility that entails.”

“Yes, sir!” Sugiyama Moto could only nod helplessly, replying with the standard phrase.

Although there was a tradition of insubordination in the Island Nation Army, situations mattered. In the Island Nation’s Cabinet Governnt, the Pri Minister held the greatest power, and that was an unalterable fact.

Unless the Pri Minister lost the trust of the Emperor, but as things stood, Konoe Fumimaro remained a subordinate in whom the Emperor placed considerable trust.

Looking at the map of the current situation on the Native Land, Konoe Fumimaro’s brow furrowed, sowhat helpless about the dire situation.

In Konoe Fumimaro’s view, the reason the Island Nation Army was being pushed back was not due to a lack of combat strength.

On the contrary, the army currently showed considerable fighting capacity, holding its own when compared to the European and Australasia armies.

The issue lay in the branches of the military that required greater investnt, the navy and the air force, where the Island Nation was significantly at a disadvantage.

Especially the air force, where there was a substantial gap in both number and quality, leading to the Island Nation never achieving air superiority over its ho territory since the war began.

Enemy airplanes freely road the skies above their own capital city; the fact that the capital had not yet fallen was due to the army’s extraordinary efforts.

Then there was the navy. Although the Island Nation had also invested heavily in the navy, it was, after all, a country with a relatively poor economy.

Coupled with a lack of dostic mineral resources, the pace of naval construction couldn’t possibly keep up with Australasia.

For now, the Island Nation could only rely on its army for defense, temporarily holding the Australasia Army at less critical regions like Kyushu Island and Hokkaido, to ensure large swathes of Honshu Island remained unoccupied.

The good news was, on the European front, the Island Nation’s two allies had gained significant advantages.

If they could hold out until Germany claid victory on the European Battlefield, there was still a chance for the Island Nation to win, and perhaps even counterattack Australasia and take control of Australia’s developed mining resources.

While Konoe Fumimaro was fantasizing about stalling until his allies won the war and then seizing control of Australasia’s mining resources, on the Australasia side, 20 atomic bombs were being readied.

Among them, 10 would be deployed in ground bursts, specifically targeting the Island Nation’s military bases, bunkers, and critical facilities on both the Native Land and Colonies (only the Korean Peninsula!!!).

The remaining 10 atomic bombs, designed for air bursts would be used to mass-kill the Islander population and destroy Industrial Bases and Urban Cities.

Depending on the type of explosion, the 20 atomic bombs were loaded with varying amounts of nuclear material inside. However, even the weakest atomic bomb wouldn’t be less powerful than the one dropped on Hiroshima, as Australasia’s atomic bomb technology had by now surpassed that of the United States during the Bombing of the Island Nation.
