After a few hours, Kira returned to be by Rico’s side, giving Shinon ti to go and rest before his ’spar’. However, how could he rest with a chaotic mind?
Night had draped the Phoenix settlent in a cloak of darkness, casting long shadows across the familiar paths Shinon walked.
The weight of anticipation hung heavily upon him as he returned to his room. Thoughts of the upcoming duel weighed on his mind, causing his steps to falter ever so slightly.
He wasn’t worried about his opponent. No matter who the person was, Shinon should be able to defeat them, either with his prowess or abilities. He was concerned about the enchantnt he had done on the knives.
Entering his room, he closed the door behind him and leaned against it, allowing the silence to envelop him. The soft glow of candlelight illuminated the space, casting flickering shadows on the walls.
It was in this secluded haven that Shinon could let his guard down where could confront his worries head-on. He paced back and forth, his mind filled with a whirlwind of doubts and questions.
The enchantnt he had woven into the blades was a double-edged sword. While it protected him from harm, it also raised suspicions if revealed.
The Phoenixes, strict and uncompromising in their ways, would not take kindly to any hint of manipulation. They would not take kindly to any attempt to deceive them, and there might be severe consequences for it.
"I don’t care about myself," Shinon softly mumbled. "But the thing is, Marcus knows that and would either go after Kira or Rico to punish ."
He ran a hand through his hair, a nervous habit that betrayed his unease. No matter how much he thought about it, no solution ca to his mind.
Shinon approached the small desk in the corner of his room, where he had worked on the knives a few hours ago. The table was littered with leftover scrap from the blades he rejected as they were too poor quality to show anyone.
He picked up one of the enchanted blades, his fingers tracing the intricate patterns etched into its hilt. The enchantnt pulsed beneath his touch, a reminder of the power he wielded and the potential danger it presented.
His gaze lingered on the blade, his mind lost in contemplation. At that mont, an idea finally greeted him, and Shinonimdiately got to work. The Phoenixes had permitted him to bring a blade of his choice to the spar as long as it wasn’t different from the ones he had presented to them.
"Finally, found a way out of this ss!" Shinon smiled as he quickly gathered the leftover materials and got to work.
Soon the remnants of steel, fragnts of different handles, and various other components lay scattered across the workbench, waiting to be transford again. A determined glint sparkled in Shinon’s eyes as he contemplated his next creation.
His fingers moved deftly, sorting through the pieces with purpose. He selected a fine selection of steel, feeling its weight and texture against his palm.
It was a foundation upon which he would build sothing extraordinary. Shinon’s mind brimd with an idea, a unique enchantnt that could turn the tide of any battle.
"Who would’ve thought such a lousy creation from my past would beco so useful right now."
Saying so, he cleared a space on the workbench, arranging the materials ticulously.
Shinon reached for a set of tools, his fingers curling around the tight grip of his hamr. The rhythmic sound of tal eting tal filled the room as he began his craft.
Ti seed to lose its hold as Shinon delved into his work. He shaped the steel with precision, honing it into the perfect blade. Each strike of the hamr echoed with purpose, infusing the weapon with his skill and determination. His hands moved with a practised grace, guided by the vision in his mind.
As the blade took form, Shinon’s focus shifted to the enchanting the damn thing. He carefully selected a vibrant blue monster core pulsating with ghostly energy. It was the core he had received as a reward from the system for crafting the knives.
"Never thought this useless piece of crap would prove to be so valuable."
The monster core was one of the least favourite cores Shinon had ever worked with. But this ti, he couldn’t be happier to use it.
The core itself was useless. However, when appropriately utilised by the right person, it could enchant a weapon or armour with the ability to disrupt and nullify other enchantnts.
With steady hands, Shinon positioned the enchanting stone on the blade, its brilliance complenting the gleaming steel. He closed his eyes, channelling his concentration and connecting with the dormant power within the stone. It responded to his touch, resonating with his intent.
Whispers of incantations filled the air as Shinon began the enchantnt process. His voice carried the weight of determination as he channelled the stone’s mana, infusing the blade with its disruptive force.
A surge of energy coursed through his veins, mingling with the enchanting stone’s power. The room grew charged with a palpable aura as Shinon completed the enchantnt. The blade shimred with a faint blue glow, proof of its newfound capabilities.
It had beco a weapon capable of unravelling even the most potent enchantnts, an invaluable asset in battles against powerful foes.
Shinon held the completed knife, admiring its craftsmanship and the enchanting stone embedded within it. Although the quality of the blade was lower than the ones he had created before, as he had used so low-quality materials, it was the key to his victory.
As he swung the blade, a sense of satisfaction washed over him mingled with a deep-rooted determination. He knew this blade could turn the tide in their favour, providing a crucial advantage against adversaries relying on enchanted weapons or armour.
"Ti to test it out," Shinon mumbled, retrieving the Blade of Chaos from his inventory.
The blade grew green as the Necrotoxin within it activated. Without a doubt, Shinon struck the blade with the knife, and the necrotoxin from the sword disappeared for a minute.
Shinon sheathed both blades with a smile, knowing that his plan was effective. Now the only thing remaining was to ntally prepare for tomorrow’s spar.
