To wake Nefertari up and to alert her of who Bone Healer was, Annan didn’t tell her everything directly.
Instead, Nefertari was brought directly in front of Benjamin.
It went as Annan expected.

This was not the cost of the magic.
Instead, it was based on the curse of their fates.
