Chapter 8

Ye Shiting in the video smiled, who knows if he believed it or not.

Fu Zhuo, sitting in the passenger’s seat, did believe, indignantly stating: “Boss, I always feel that there’s more to this story than what ets the eye. The pairing of marriage candidates by the civil affairs bureau is supposed to be based on big data analysis to find the most compatible matches, usually matching pairs of equal social statuses. But Miss Ye by any view, doesn’t match up to you…”

“Doesn’t she?”

The voice of Mr. Ye was as cold as a glacier. There were certain things that only he was allowed to say. If anyone else said them, he found them unbearable to hear.

Unaware of his infuriating remarks, Fu Zhuo continued: “Far from being a match, that Miss Ye, except for her excellent academics, appealing appearance, has no other qualities to boast about! More importantly, she had a previous romantic engagent but was dumped by the guy. If a common university student didn’t even find her up to the mark, now you are to accept her, it’s like you lowering yourself to pick up soone’s cast-off…”

Before Fu Zhuo could finish his words, Mr. Ye had already pushed the door and stepped out of the car.

Seeing him getting off the car amidst heavy rain, Fu Zhuo imdiately called out in panic: “Boss, why are you getting off in such heavy rain?”

Mr. Ye slamd the car door with a pop, it felt like a slap in the face for Fu Zhuo: “To pick up the cast-off.”

Ye Xingguang picked up her solemn governnt-issued marriage certificate, successfully took care of her graduation process, and received her long-cherished graduation certificate and degree certificate.

She went back to the dormitory to pack her luggage, but because of the pouring rain outside, she didn’t dare to step out.

A gust of cold wind laden with rain swept in, causing her to retreat in fear, terrified of the rain falling onto her sandals.

Damn it, she hated rainy weather. If her feet got wet, she feared she’d sprout a fishtail.

To add insult to injury, her ex-boyfriend, Yun Chen, was standing under an umbrella outside the dormitory building in the rain curtain, defending Rebecca Perry unfairly.

“Xingguang, do you think this is fair? We broke up peacefully, I never cheated on you before we broke up, but now you’re slandering Rebecca on the school forum, calling her a ho wrecker. Can’t you show so dignity after the break-up? Your actions really make feel blind for liking you before!”

Isn’t she the one who was blind?

She still rembered how Yun Chen had turned her down when she was excited to go to the civil affair’s bureau to get their marriage certificate that morning. Yun Chen told her:

“Xingguang, Rebecca was dumped, she’s the campus flower of C University. If the school sends her to the civil affairs bureau for a marriage arrangent, she will beco a laughing stock. Now she wants to marry … I’m sorry, I can’t just stand by and do nothing.”

Even now, thinking about Yun Chen’s words made her laugh.

If the campus flower Rebecca went to the civil affairs bureau for a marriage arrangent, she would beco a laughing stock, but she wouldn’t beco a laughing stock as the faculty flower?

If she hadn’t feared that her looks were too striking and always toned them down with makeup to appear ordinary, how could Rebecca be considered the campus flower?

Also, “When did I slander Rebecca on the school forum?”

“You dare to do it, but you won’t admit it, right? Ask yourself, did I ever do anything to wrong you during our relationship? We broke up simply because I felt you were not suitable to be my wife. You’re too delicate. Just like now, you never walk in such weather, you either want to carry you or stay in the dormitory and refuse to go out. How many tis have you refused to go out with in the rain? With your delicate personality, which man would willingly take you ho as his wife?”
