Completely oblivious to the maids’ schadenfreude, Ye Xingguang doesn’t have a clue.

After a tiring day, all she wants to do is take a nice bath, wash her hair, and enjoy a good night’s sleep. She has to get up early for work tomorrow after all.

Coming out of the bathroom, Ye Xingguang carries a glass downstairs, planning to pour herself a cup of water before bed.

Just as she reaches the ground floor, she hears a clattering sound from the dining room.

Curiosity piqued, she walks in to find Ye Junqing squatting next to the table, a broken water glass scattered at his feet, hot water everywhere.

He doesn’t bother to clean up the shards of glass on the floor. Instead, his tall figure is hunched over, his face betraying a pained expression.

“Ye Junqing, are you alright?”

Under the light, the man’s handsoly chiseled face is paler than paper, his eyebrows knitted in what seems to be silent suffering. Could he be sick?

She bends over, trying to help him up: “Co on, let help you to the couch in the living room. Are you feeling unwell? Do you need to call a doctor?”

However, before her hands could touch his arm, Ye Junqing swiftly pulls his hand away, lifting his crimson eyes to et hers, his voice icy as though he just spat out ice: “Who said you could stay here?”

“Huh?”

“Get out!” Far from accepting her help, Ye Junqing ruthlessly pushes her away, trying to get up unsteadily as though he’s attempting to make his way upstairs.

Unable to leave him alone, Ye Xingguang follows.

They barely reach the entrance of the living room when Ye Junqing abruptly stops and points outside the door: “Leave. Turn left at five hundred ters from the door. There’s a villa. Look for the housekeeper. He’ll arrange a different place for you to stay tonight.” “But why?” Ye Xingguang is baffled.

“I don’t want to see you!’

Ye Xingguang:

As if she wants to see him either!

Seeing Ye Xingguang standing still, Ye Junqing lowers his voice, his aura formidable: “Don’t make say it twice!”

Ye Xingguang persists, “Are you mad about the post I made on Weibo today? I admit I might have tarnished your image repeatedly, but I had no choice. Otherwise, netizens would assu you were physically abusing , which would affect your brother’s public standing. Who knew you would bark up the wrong tree… Hey, hey, hey, what gives? Why are you trying to throw out…” Before she can finish, her arm is forcefully grabbed by the man.

Ye Junqing seizes her arm, swiftly pulls her towards the door, and slams it shut behind him with a bang.

Ye Xingguang:

Did he just kick her out?

She wants to leave right now, but thinking of his ashen face…

He seed to be in pain. If she leaves in a huff and sothing happens to him, who would be responsible?

“Hey! Open the door!”

“Bang, bang, bang!’

“If you don’t open the door, I’m breaking it down!”

“l an it!”

Ye Xingguang stands at the door, calling out for a while without anyone opening. She notices a window left open and without a second thought, climbs

in.

“Ye Junqing, the Civil Affairs Bureau says I have to live here for a year. You have no right to kick out. If you lock out again, I’m going to file a complaint at the Civil Affairs Bureau…”

Before she has ti to finish, Ye Junqing strides over with a dark face to seize her.

Ye Xingguang imdiately sounds the alarm, quickly running away and cautiously watching the pale man from behind the living room couch: “Don’t even think about driving away! I’m not leaving! Are you really okay? You look terribly pale, should I call a doctor for you?”

Ye Junqings restrained fingers tighten, the veins in his neck standing out, his gaze fixed on the reckless woman hiding behind the couch.. Lacking the energy to deal with her, he points at the door and orders in a stern voice: “l told you to leave! Now, imdiately, NOW!”
