For so reason, Ye Xingguang had suddenly beco lodramatic. She found herself shalessly demanding sothing of him early in the morning. She despised herself for acting spoiled and bossy but just couldn’t restrain the mischievous urge to test how much Ye Junqing would indulge her.

Back when they were in college, a roommate of hers had once texted her boyfriend, complaining of hunger in the middle of the night. Her boyfriend rushed out at three in the morning to buy barbequed food. Not only for the roommate but for the entire dorm. It had made Ye Xingguang so jealous…

Ye Junqing glanced at the text from Xingguang, demanding food when she should be reflecting upon her behavior. He was spoiling her!

However, Ye Junqing simply texted her back in two words: wake up.

“Ding Dong

Major Pain: [Starve then!]

Ye Xingguang bit her lip, feeling no disappointnt. In fact, she thought this response was more fitting for the Major Pain she knew.

Just as she was pondering this, another ‘Ding Dong’ sounded.

Major Pain: [If you don’t confess your wrongdoings, you’re not getting anything to eat.]

Ye Xingguang laughed quietly under her blanket. Yes, this was how you deal with Major Pain. Finally, her muddled head started to clear up, or else she might have started to question if she was falling irretrievably in love with him.

But suddenly, a sound echoed in the tranquil villa. The sound of a door opening, followed by a man’s footsteps. Ye Xingguang couldn’t help but perk her ears up. These were the footsteps of Major Pain in the hall, growing fainter as though he was going downstairs.

Ye Xingguang carefully listened until the footstep sounds completely disappeared. Then, she abruptly sat up, itching her head wildly. What was Major Pain going downstairs for at such an odd hour? Could he be cooking steak for her?

The idea excited her and she couldn’t resist. Slyly, she got out of bed and crept downstairs.

She crouched at the staircase on the second floor, peeking downstairs like a thief. She could hear movent in the kitchen and faint whistling from outside, so she quickly stood up and hid.

Tang Zhou had been out playing until dawn and ca back to see lights on in Ye Junqing’s villa. He walked in out of curiosity and was astonished to find Ye Junqing busy in the kitchen. He walked over in surprise, “Brother Qing, are you hungry? I have so breakfast, do you want so?”

Ye Junqing, dressed in dark pajamas, had earphones in his ears. He was leisurely listening to music from his phone, which was in his pocket, and missed Tang Zhou’s words.

Tang Zhou noticed that Ye Junqing was ignoring him, so he walked closer and manually removed one of Ye Junqing’s earbuds and put it in his own ear. Suddenly, an unbelievably high-pitched lody nearly stunned him.

“Oh my god, who’s this singer? These high notes are insane!”

Ye Junqing only noticed Tang Zhou by then, he swiftly retrieved his earbud and said coldly, “Why are you up so early?”

Tang Zhou replied, “I haven’t slept yet, just got back from a night out. I saw lights on in your place and thought it might be a burglar. Brother Qing, breakfast? It was initially for my little follower. But of course, you’re more important.”

Ye Junqing waved off his offer, unimpressed: “You can take it back for Leng Chenmo.”

But Tang Zhou stayed, astonished, “Wait, Brother Qing, can you actually cook? When did you learn this? I saw a video of you making steak on the internet and thought they were just posing. I want so too.”

Just after speaking, Tang Zhou let out a belch.

Embarrassed, he added, “I an, my stomach is full but my mouth still wants to taste.”

“If you want it, ask Leng Chenmo to cook for you.”

Ye Junqing just wanted to get rid of him now.

“He wouldn’t know how to pan-fry a steak,” lanted Tang Zhou.

“Tell him to learn. If he can’t even make you a al, what are you keeping him around for?”
