After a hearty laugh, soone asked, "Where is she staying tonight?"
The bodyguard answered, "Miss Chang said she’ll sleep in the study room."
Ji Qishu comnted dismissively, "How co the study’s glass wasn’t shattered by the wind, aren’t they all the sa glass?"
The bodyguard replied, "...Young Master Ji, are you just hoping to benefit from others’ misfortune?"
The bodyguard regretted calling Ji Qishu.
Ji Qishu said, "What else? Do you expect to go fix her window glass? Wishful thinking! I only hope her life will be filled with misfortunes..."
The bodyguard decisively hung up the phone, suddenly realizing that this might be the reason Ji persistently wants reconciliation but remains a divorced man.
After getting hung up on, Ji Qishu continued driving. However, his luck wasn’t great tonight either; halfway through, he encountered flooding in the city. His car accidentally drove into the urban sea—luckily he got out quickly, otherwise, he would’ve been trapped.
In the dead of night, with wind and rainstorm raging, he didn’t even have an umbrella, standing at the bus stop in the downpour. He wasn’t alone; several other unlucky strangers stood there, sharing in misery, all staring at their cars subrged in the urban sea.
Such a tragedy.
"Buddy, want a smoke?" Soone offered him a cigarette.
Like the others, Ji Qishu didn’t refuse. At tis like this, you need a cigarette and a shared laugh.
There were four n at the bus stop, each with their place to go.
Man number 1 complained, "This damn weather! My wife is waiting for to co ho and fix the lights. There was a blackout suddenly, and she’s never dealt with it before, so she has no idea what to do. She called crying just now, but now I can’t get ho without a car..."
Man number 2 said, "Buddy, you’re lucky. My wife is pregnant and is terrified of thunderstorms; she’s ho alone too. Without , what can she do? If she gets too frightened, it could affect the baby, damn this weather."
Man number 3 said, "My girlfriend told if I don’t pick her up within half an hour, she’s breaking up with . This damn weather! How can I possibly make it within half an hour? n are just so unlucky."
Ji Qishu was man number 4. After everyone vented about their lives, Ji Qishu was the only one without a complaint, drawing the other three n’s attention, hoping he’d share sothing tragic for a bit of psychological balance.
Ji Qishu took a drag of his cigarette and said, "The glass window in my woman’s bedroom just got shattered by sothing the typhoon blew over..."
At this mont, Man number 3’s buddy showed up driving a van, a seven-seater.
Before getting in, Man number 3 said, "Fate brings us together! We all have urgent things waiting to be done, why not hop in, and I’ll give you a ride."
Ji Qishu originally planned to call his bodyguard for a pick-up, but couldn’t resist the offer, so he got in the van.
His was not the most urgent case, so after dropping off the others at their destinations, Man number 3’s buddy asked him where he was headed?
The Ye’s Family Manor’s driver couldn’t make the trip, and seeing the others rush to be heroes for their won, Ji Qishu, on impulse, gave Chang Qinghua’s address and was finally dropped off at her apartnt building.
Ji Qishu handed the driver a hundred bucks, "Thanks."
The driver didn’t take it, "No big deal, off you go."
After the driver left, Ji Qishu stood beneath the apartnt building, suddenly feeling unsure of where to go next.
