"I'm not going. I'm not writing anything. You don't have the authority to give a derit."
Qi Lin glanced at Hu Bing with disdain, as if he didn't even consider him worthy of acknowledgnt.
"You were late, so you must do as I say. If you refuse, I’ll report this to the principal. By then, it won't just be a derit—it’ll be an even bigger problem for you."
Hu Bing sneered.
Qi Lin lazily walked over to Lan Yuxi, who was staring at him in shock. He pulled her up and said, "I was late because I perford an act of heroism. I saved a drowning child. The class rep saw it too. The school rules clearly state that if a student is late due to an act of bravery, not only should they not be punished, but they should also be rewarded."
"Tell , Director Hu, what authority do you have to punish ? Do you think you’re above the school rules set by the principal?"
"You? An act of heroism?"
Hearing Qi Lin claim he saved soone, Hu Bing burst into laughter.
"You’re the class rep, right? I know Qi Lin has been threatening you. Just be brave and tell the truth. If he's forcing you to lie, I promise he won't dare to harm you."
Hu Bing turned to Lan Yuxi.
Lan Yuxi sighed helplessly.
Why does Qi Lin always drag into his ss? I’ve basically beco his human shield at this point.
"Director, I wasn’t threatened by Qi Lin. He really did save a drowning child this afternoon."
Since Qi Lin had dirt on her and the story was true, she couldn’t possibly fra him.
But Hu Bing had already labeled Qi Lin as a scumbag in his mind. He sneered, "Oh? Even the class rep is too afraid to tell the truth? Covering up for him? Qi Lin, you’re getting out of control. Today, I’ll personally see to it that you receive a major derit. Let’s see who dares to question my authority."
A major derit would go on Qi Lin’s permanent school record. While it wasn’t as serious as a criminal record, it was still a severe disciplinary action.
Just as Hu Bing turned to head for the records office to personally file a misconduct report, he suddenly ran into several people.
"P-Principal? What brings you here?"
Hu Bing was stunned to see the authoritative figure before him.
Behind the principal stood several vice principals of Huashi No. 1 High School.
"Which one of you is Qi Lin?"
Ignoring Hu Bing, the principal looked around the class and asked.
"Ahem, Principal, what can I do for you?"
Qi Lin stepped forward, blinking innocently, wearing a harmless expression.
Qi Lin knew that the principal was a formidable figure. This man had spent forty years transforming an unknown school into one of the nation’s top institutions. He was an elder worthy of respect.
The principal chuckled, glancing at Qi Lin with amusent.
Normally, he would never have allowed a rich, spoiled troublemaker like Qi Lin into his school.
But the school’s library was outdated and in dire need of renovations. Qi Lin’s father had offered to fund the construction of a new library, so the principal had agreed to admit Qi Lin as a special exception.
His original plan was simple—he didn’t expect Qi Lin to excel academically, but as long as he didn’t cause too much trouble, it would be fine.
Yet in just one month, Qi Lin had already been caught cheating.
At that ti, the principal had thought Qi Lin was a lost cause.
But just monts ago, he received a call from the director of the Bureau of Industry and Comrce, who expressed deep gratitude toward a student nad Qi Lin.
If not for Qi Lin’s bravery, his six-year-old son would have drowned in the lake today.
When the principal heard Qi Lin’s na, he was stunned. He thought he had misheard.
But the other party repeatedly confird that Qi Lin was indeed from their school.
Only then did the principal realize that this so-called delinquent had actually done sothing extraordinary.
The principal firmly believed in the philosophy that a student must be taught character before talent. With this act of bravery, Qi Lin had shown he wasn’t beyond saving.
He might be mischievous in small matters, but when faced with a real crisis, he was a good person.
That kind of student was worth nurturing.
But Hu Bing didn’t know the principal’s thoughts. He assud that Qi Lin had caused another major problem.
Otherwise, why would the principal personally co looking for soone like Qi Lin?
"Principal, this student is completely out of control. He was late, talked back to when I tried to punish him, and even had the audacity to claim he was late because of so so-called act of heroism. Isn’t that ridiculous?"
"So students, sure, I’d believe they acted heroically. But him? He transferred here from that school full of delinquents…"
Hu Bing went on and on, exaggerating his complaints about Qi Lin.
The principal, however, frowned deeper and deeper, his expression darkening.
"Enough!"
Unable to listen any longer, the principal finally shouted.
Hu Bing froze, looking at the principal in shock, completely confused as to why he was being yelled at.
"Qi Lin did perform an act of heroism. I just received a call confirming that he saved a drowning child."
The principal’s voice was calm.
"Pfft!"
Hu Bing’s eyes widened in disbelief. He almost coughed up blood on the spot.
He had been so convinced that Qi Lin was lying.
But now, the principal was telling him that Qi Lin really had saved a child?
"Principal, is there a chance they made a mistake? Maybe it was soone with the sa na?"
Hu Bing asked hesitantly, still unwilling to believe it.
"There’s no mistake. The details match perfectly."
The principal shot Hu Bing a cold glance.
At first, the principal had viewed Hu Bing as a diligent and competent administrator.
But now, he realized that Hu Bing was too prejudiced. He had targeted Qi Lin from the start, refusing to see any good in him.
At this mont, the principal’s impression of Hu Bing worsened considerably.
Qi Lin smirked slightly.
This was great.
After this incident, Hu Bing’s "protagonist halo" had weakened even further.
"But you, Hu Bing—you’ve been too hasty in your judgnts. You wrongly accused a student who perford an act of heroism. Your behavior discourages others from doing good deeds."
"Apologize to Qi Lin. And when you’re done, write a report reflecting on your mistakes and submit it to ."
The principal spoke firmly.
"Damn it!"
Not only had he failed to punish Qi Lin, but he had also lost favor with the principal. Hu Bing was so furious he felt like spitting blood.
But as a re director of student discipline, his entire career depended on the principal’s approval. No matter how bitter he felt, he had no choice but to obey.
"Qi Lin, I was mistaken about you earlier. I apologize."
Hu Bing bowed his head, but his eyes were filled with deep resentnt.
"A person who recognizes their mistakes and corrects them is worthy of respect. I forgive you, Director Hu."
Qi Lin smiled innocently.
"But Director Hu, next ti, be more careful. I’m just a student—no matter how much you scold , I wouldn’t dare fight back. But you can’t act like your personal rules override the school’s rules. Even the principal is above that, and we all have to respect him, right?"
His words made Hu Bing’s blood boil.
He had never said anything like that!
Qi Lin was twisting his words on purpose.
And the worst part? The principal might actually believe him.
Hu Bing turned in horror to look at the principal.
Sure enough, though the principal’s expression remained neutral, his eyes were filled with disappointnt.
"Hu Bing, you will step down as director. Mr. Huang will take over your position. You will now serve as deputy director. Once you improve your mindset, I may consider reinstating you."
Hu Bing was utterly ruined.
The principal then turned to Qi Lin and patted him on the shoulder.
"Qi Lin, your bravery is comndable. Tomorrow morning, the school will hold a ceremony to honor you. The Bureau of Industry and Comrce’s director will personally present you with an award. I hope you continue to set a good example for our students."
Qi Lin grinned.
"I won’t let you down, Principal."
Hu Bing left with a face ashen as death.
Although Qiu Yuelin was in class, her beautiful eyes would occasionally glance at Qi Lin, who was sleeping on his desk.
If it had been yesterday, she would have definitely stepped in to discipline him.
But now that Hu Bing, who had backed her up, had been demoted, Qiu Yuelin had co to realize how terrifying this student truly was.
"Ugh... There are still two more months before my substitute teaching ends, and now that Hu Bing has been demoted, what if this troublemaker bullies again?"
Her beautiful eyes were filled with helplessness.
"Class rep."
As soon as the bell rang, Qi Lin stood in front of Lan Yuxi, who was packing up her textbooks.
Wang Cheng, who had just been gloating over Qi Lin being reprimanded by the dean, now had his head down, his face full of bitterness.
Clearly, Qi Lin and Hu Bing were not even on the sa level, yet in the end, it was Hu Bing who lost.
Through this incident, Wang Cheng realized that his temporary strategy of submission was correct. Otherwise, his fate would have been even worse than Hu Bing’s.
"But this kind of life won’t last much longer."
A glint flashed through Wang Cheng’s dark eyes.
He was about to find the hiding place of that mass murderer.
A hundred thousand yuan in reward money was already waving at him.
By then, he would have enough power to challenge Qi Lin.
"What do you want this ti?"
Lan Yuxi rolled her eyes at Qi Lin.
She had completely given up on figuring him out.
Not only had he managed to clear her na after the cheating incident, but now he had even managed to clean up his own reputation.
By tomorrow, if a comndation ceremony was held for him, the entire school would rember Qi Lin as the center of attention.
She thought he was here to walk her ho again and take advantage of her in so way.
But she had been out in the sun all afternoon, and after sweating a lot, she felt uncomfortable and just wanted to go ho and take a shower.
If Qi Lin invited her, she had already decided to refuse outright, just to keep this scoundrel from getting cocky.
"I just wanted to let you know that today, I’m taking Siling ho, so I won’t have ti to walk you. You should go by yourself."
With a slight smirk, Qi Lin threw out these words and left.
What a joke—he knew exactly how these proud little girls thought.
Did they think that just because they were pretty, everyone should revolve around them?
Not happening. He had plenty of girls around him; she wasn’t that special.
Lan Yuxi: "..."
"Qi Lin, you narcissistic bastard! Who even wants you to walk them ho?!"
Just as Qi Lin stepped out of the classroom, an angry and embarrassed shout ca from behind him.
"Siling, why are you so quiet today?"
"You know I don’t mind what happened to you. I know you only did it because Qi Lin forced you to, all for the sake of saving ."
Qi Lin had been too busy these past few days and hadn’t had the chance to ss with Wang Siling.
Yu Chen seized the opportunity to walk ho with Wang Siling, hoping to restore their old relationship.
But the truth was, even though she walked ho with him, she was no longer the sa lively, playful girl she used to be.
Under Qi Lin’s influence, Wang Siling had matured a lot. She smiled much less and didn’t talk much either. Basically, she only answered when Yu Chen spoke, making him increasingly anxious.
"Yu Chen, from now on, you shouldn’t walk ho with anymore. If Qi Lin sees you, he’ll make trouble for you again."
"There are so many girls better than . You don’t need to stay attached to —I’m not the sa Wang Siling I used to be."
Wang Siling bit her lip, trying to make Yu Chen give up on her.
Hearing this, Yu Chen panicked. "You are! You are! You’re still the Wang Siling I love the most!"
"I may not be able to defeat Qi Lin now, but I promise you, I will take you back from that bastard! I’ll stomp him under my feet so he never dares to bully you again!"
Wang Siling was about to say sothing, but at that mont, a lazy voice sounded behind them.
"Yu Chen, it’s only been a few days, and you’re already getting ahead of yourself again? I’d really like to know—exactly how do you plan on stepping on ?"
"Uh..."
That voice—one he loathed to the extre yet feared beyond words—felt like a massive invisible hand clenching around his throat, leaving him speechless.
When dealing with the protagonist, things had to be done step by step.
Qi Lin’s plan was to completely steal the heroine away first, then strip the protagonist of everything—his allies, his dignity—until he was utterly alone and t a miserable end.
"Enough. If you don’t have the ability, then don’t talk big. Otherwise, Siling might have to kiss you again to save you."
Qi Lin chuckled, breaking Yu Chen’s spirit.
"I’m borrowing your childhood sweetheart for now. I’ll return her when I’m done."
Without hesitation, he pulled Wang Siling, who looked timid and hesitant, over to his side.
"Siling, get in the car."
Yu Chen couldn’t fight Qi Lin, and seeing Wang Siling being taken away, he desperately shouted, "Siling, you can’t get in his car! That bastard is definitely up to sothing!"
But just as Qi Lin had said, Wang Siling still owed him fifteen thousand yuan. More importantly, she didn’t want Qi Lin to tornt Yu Chen any further.
She bit her lip, gave Yu Chen a glance, and said, "I’m going with Qi Lin willingly. Don’t tell my brother, and don’t co looking for . I’m begging you."
With that, she turned her head away, her beautiful eyes tinged red, and got into Qi Lin’s car.
Qi Lin raised a finger at Yu Chen in a mocking gesture, got into the driver’s seat, and sped off.
"Ugh... I’m so useless! I can’t even protect the girl I love... I’m just trash!"
Watching Qi Lin take Wang Siling away, Yu Chen fell to his knees, covering his face, and sobbed loudly like a child.
At so point, Wang Cheng had walked up behind him.
He patted Yu Chen’s shoulder and sighed bitterly, "Crying won’t change anything. To be honest, your senior, Yuxi, is about to fall into Qi Lin’s hands too."
Seeing that it was Wang Cheng, Yu Chen cried even harder. "Are we just supposed to let him take the people we love?"
Wang Cheng’s face remained indifferent. "Bide your ti, gather your strength, and strike at his weakness. Going against him recklessly without power is just foolish."
A defeated Wang Cheng was now giving Yu Chen advice.
"That’s you! You can stand by and watch the people you love being taken from you—I can’t!"
"I refuse to sit back and let him take my girl and still have to act nice to him."
"Just wait! One day, I’ll destroy that bastard and take Siling back!"
Yu Chen wiped his tears, shoved Wang Cheng aside, and ran ho.
Watching him leave, Wang Cheng’s expression turned grim.
"What an idiot. I thought you were smart—I even considered letting you marry my sister. But now, seeing how stupid you are, you deserved to have your girl stolen."
He spat on the ground and walked away.
Qi Lin hadn’t taken Lan Yuxi ho, and Wang Cheng wanted to send her instead.
But Lan Yuxi, in a bad mood and eager to take a shower, directly refused him.
So in the end, both Yu Chen and Wang Cheng were just as miserable.
"Siling, do you have any dreams?"
In the car, Qi Lin wasn’t in a hurry to take advantage of Wang Siling.
The first stage of his plan had already been completed successfully.
Now, he needed to make Wang Siling fully devoted to him.
Only when Wang Siling was completely his could he push Yu Chen into utter despair.
After all, it was one thing if the girl he loved was forced into submission by an enemy.
But if she willingly fell for that enemy... how would he handle that?
