"Guest? Are you referring to Gael Harrison?" Sienna asked in disbelief, her eyes widening as her face turned pale. It was impossible not to recognize him—everyone who visited this establishnt was eager to make his acquaintance, given his connection to the Avery family and his role in managing their racecourse.
But for him to personally greet a guest ant that the person was of significant family background and had a connection to the Avery family, as this man only answered to the Avery, although he wasn’t an aide like Cindy and Gerald, he was almost closer to their position because of his seniority and has been serving the Avery family for long.
Even Gael was stunned, his mouth opening and closing in surprise as he struggled to find words. He had co to et the manager of the racecourse to gain an advantage over his brothers and secure the deal before they could, but he hadn’t expected this turn of events.
Although he had called the manager last night and received a firm refusal, Gael decided to try his luck again. He never expected that the elusive manager, who was notoriously hard to approach, would show up in person to pick up soone. Despite his ambitions, Gael wasn’t arrogant enough to assu that the manager’s appearance was for his benefit, especially after being turned away previously. He lacked the confidence to claim that the manager had co specifically for him.
But then, as Gael looked around, he realized that aside from Sienna, only he and Hera were in the lobby. The manager had referred to "his guest," which made it highly unlikely that the term was referring to the people who were just about to enter from outside.
However, as Gael observed Hera and those around her, he began to dismiss the idea that the manager had co for them. He didn’t want to underestimate them, but it seed highly improbable and almost unimaginable.
The manager, having firmly put Sienna in her place, ignored her completely. He then turned to Hera, bowing deeply in a show of utmost respect and humility. "Miss Ainsley, I sincerely apologize for the delay and the unfortunate experience you’ve endured. Please, hold accountable for this oversight," he said, his deanor one of utter defeat.
From his actions, Hera was certain that Cindy had inford the manager of her identity to prevent any mishaps or miscommunication that could lead to her being mistreated or facing any negative experiences. However, despite the manager’s swift efforts to reach the lobby, the vast size of the racecourse made it impossible for him to arrive instantly.
The manager was deeply disgruntled by the insults the insolent woman had directed at their sole heiress. He wanted to strangle her on the spot, but Cindy had warned him not to reveal Hera’s identity without her consent. If not for that restriction, he would have slapped Sienna and exposed Hera’s identity to further humiliate her and put her in her place.
"No need for that, Manager. This situation is beyond your control. Besides, you couldn’t have anticipated a loose dog barking on your premises, could you?" Hera gave Sienna a sidelong glance before presenting her invitation to the manager. "Here is my invitation," she said. Hera offered the invitation despite knowing Cindy had already called ahead to reduce any suspicion about her presence. Since Cindy hadn’t ntioned any issues with the invitation card, it ant there was no mistake, and this invitation held special significance.
As soon as the manager saw the rainbow invitation card, his smile widened. He imdiately recognized the card and understood the significance it held for their sole heiress. With a respectful bow, he took the invitation card with both hands. He then walked behind the receptionist’s desk, entered a special code into the system, and scanned the back of the invitation card, where a chip was embedded.
Both the receptionist, Gael, Bry and his father, and Sienna watched with curiosity as the manager handled the invitation card. Sienna wanted to challenge the validity of the invitation, but she bit her tongue, recognizing that the manager, being the one in charge, would be the most familiar with the invitation cards and their significance.
If the manager accepted the invitation card and was acting so deferential to Hera, it could only an one thing. Sienna watched with bated breath, eager to see how the situation would unfold. After scanning the back of the invitation card, a prompt appeared on the system, indicating that another chip needed to be scanned. The manager then looked up at Hera.
"Miss Ainsley, may I borrow your Black Dragon Card to complete the registration process?" The manager said, and Gael and Sienna’s eyes dilated after hearing the Black Dragon Card that they only heard and sounded more like a myth in a legend than reality because there just so limited number of that card that they had yet to see one even when they both belong to the upper crust of the wealthy.
Typically, such procedures are completed in a private office, involving multiple verifications and a lengthy process. However, the manager’s decision to verify the invitation and handle the registration right then and there, issuing a mbership card on the spot, was a deliberate choice. It was ant to demonstrate, not only to Sienna but to everyone present, including the newcors, that Hera held a prestigious position that was beyond reproach and not easily challenged.
Even without explicitly revealing her identity as the Avery family’s sole heiress, it was clear that they would not tolerate anyone bullying or speaking ill of her. Hera observed the manager’s actions and, embracing her decision to be petty that day, chose to fully support the manager’s stance. She produced her black card, carefully obscuring her na with her finger before handing it to the manager. The manager, understanding her subtle cue, also covered the na on the card as he accepted it.
The manager scanned the card, and a loading screen appeared on his device. Monts later, it confird that an account for Hera was already active. He looked up at Hera with a sheepish smile. ’Of course, Young Miss already has an account—how could I have missed that? Still, this is a good opportunity to demonstrate to others,’ he said, nodding with satisfaction. The receptionist beside him looked on in stunned confusion, observing a procedure far different from their usual routine.
The receptionist’s astonishnt grew when the na displayed on the screen made her heart leap into her throat. Her wide eyes darted to Hera’s face, only to find Hera smiling with crescent-shaped eyes. In that instant, it beca clear to her that Hera was silently signaling her to stay silent.
The manager chuckled lightly. "It appears you’re already registered in our system, so the invitation card wasn’t necessary. However, if you pass it on to a friend, we could issue a black platinum mbership card for them imdiately."
The new arrivals approaching the receptionist area froze, their eyes widening in disbelief as they processed the manager’s words. They stared at him as if he had grown another head, struggling to understand what he ant by a black platinum mbership card—sothing they hadn’t even heard of, since they only knew of platinum as the highest mbership level.
