[Gerlad: I rember, Young Miss. After investigating Minerva’s bank transfers, I discovered just how careless and arrogant she is. She didn’t even attempt to use an alternate account or be discreet when sending paynts to the trolls and keyboard warriors she hired to slander you. She used her main account to contact them, making it easy for us to gather evidence of her involvent in your harassnt.]
[Hera: She was always arrogant, believing that people would tremble and humble themselves if they knew she was the sole heiress of the Briley family. She seed to enjoy being treated like a queen.]
[Hera: How could soone like her, with such arrogance, suddenly beco ticulous and connected to criminals? What’s troubling is that the police have been investigating this group for over five years without a single lead. So why now?]
[Gerald: Young Miss, are you suggesting that Minerva is being used as a scapegoat?]
[Hera: I don’t know.]
[Gerald: Or was it because of Rafael?]
[Hera: No. I wouldn’t try to help Rafael if Minerva were truly guilty. I would gladly fan the flas so she received the harshest punishnt, wishing she were dead rather than enduring a living hell. But I don’t want to be used as an instrunt to let an innocent person suffer while the real culprit goes free.]
[Hera: Although I hated Minerva, I don’t want to end up hating myself for letting my judgnt be clouded by hatred. So please, Gerald, help with this, okay?]
[Gerald: Well said, Young Miss. Don’t worry, I’ll conduct a ticulous investigation.]
[Hera: Also, keep track of everyone Minerva has been in contact with over the past six months.]
[Hera: Also, it got thinking. Are you sure the evidence we gathered against Minerva, linking her to those cris, was actually collected by you and your team and not planted?]
[Gerald: Are you suggesting, Young Miss, that instead of uncovering genuine evidence, we might have been fed false information without realizing it? Σ(▼ □▼メ)]
[Hera: I’m not sure, but we need to consider all possibilities. We can’t risk being blindsided and accused by the police of tampering with evidence or being accessories to the cri, can we?]
[Gerald: (ʘロʘ)...]
[Gerald: That was a big possibility, Young Miss!]
[Gerald: I’ll get my ass moving, Young Miss!]
[Gerald: I’ll let you know if I got sothing.]
[Hera: Alright, I’ll leave this to your care then.]
Hera let out a heavy sigh as she reached the foot of the stairs, where Cindy stood straight, waiting for her.
"Young Miss, is there a problem? Do you need to handle it?" Cindy asked, bowing respectfully.
"No need, I’ve already sent Gerald on a mission," Hera said, tilting her head to the side. "Wait, actually, I do need you. Coordinate with Gerald and see what you can do to help him. Also, instruct all the bodyguards accompanying to apprehend anyone suspicious—anyone trying to get close to or watching from afar—and send them for interrogation," she added decisively. ’Instead of waiting for soone to hurt , it’s better to take the first step, catch them in a net, and be well-prepared,’ Hera thought.
[Hera: Rafael, are you busy? Please contact back if you see the ssage, thanks!]
Hera stared at her phone for a mont before putting it down. She knew Rafael often woke up as early as she did, so she figured he must be swamped with work and unable to check his phone. Hera’s assumption was spot on. All six n were overwheld with work due to their own doing, having ssed with each other and engaged in petty conflicts.
When Mommy is out, the children play hard and often get hurt—a bit like what the six n are doing. Although their competition is no longer hostile, they are still being petty, trying to annoy each other to get more ti with Hera. Who would have thought that by causing trouble for one another, they’d all end up swamped with work? They haven’t slept since last night, and now they’re not even sure if they can resolve the issues within a day.
Before diving into their work, each of them ensured that Hera had a bodyguard assigned to protect her in their absence. They also made arrangents to manage the online trouble but made sure to save the most significant tasks for Hera, so she could feel the satisfaction of handling the issue herself.
After all, while they all cared deeply for Hera and wanted to protect her, they knew she didn’t want to be treated like a helpless doll. They recognized her as a strong woman with her own ideas and thods for handling things, believing firmly that she was a queen. And a queen doesn’t just command respect—she rules with authority and strength.
And they are her devoted servants, revering her every move. Sohow, without realizing it, they’ve co to accept that all six of them belong to Hera and are ready to be hers. However, they’re not ready to share her just yet, which is why they continue their silent competition behind her back, acting petty in their efforts.
Unlike before, their rivalry was no longer fueled by malice. This shift occurred because they all wanted to avoid causing Hera any distress with their competition for her affection, especially since, apart from Leo, it was clear that she seed uninterested in engaging with them or was holding so prejudice that she could never tell why.
That’s why they all felt dissatisfied and directed their frustration at Leo. Leo, in turn, was targeting them to push them away and secure more ti with Hera. Although they couldn’t find concrete evidence proving his involvent, they weren’t blind—they knew it was him behind the moves.
What they didn’t realize was that they were all simply fulfilling a fate that had already been predetermined, albeit with a different woman.
On the other side of the city, Hera let go of all her distractions. She knew that if she didn’t, she’d beco unproductive and inattentive to her tasks, which wouldn’t be good. She had already arranged everything she could think of to ensure her safety and protect those around her, while also checking if she was under anyone’s radar.
Now that everything was arranged, Hera could enjoy her hearty breakfast prepared by Hannah. Like her father, Hannah enjoyed creating thed nus, and today’s breakfast featured Korean cuisine.
The breakfast spread included kimchi as a side dish, Korean toast with egg, spam, veggies, chicken katsu, and plenty of mayo and mustard. There was also Kongnamul (Korean soybean sprouts) as another side dish which was crispy and refreshing to the palette, Dalgona coffee for a little caffeine in the morning, and Korean miso soup to go along with the main dish which she could take a sip every now and then to cleanse her palette while eating the Galbi Jjim. To ensure Hera had enough energy for the day, Hannah prepared rice and Galbi Jjim (braised short ribs) as the main dish.
Galbi Jjim was slow-cooked short ribs that Hannah began preparing before dawn. She cooked them in a claypot to ensure they had a distinct, traditional Korean flavor.
