Dave’s voice cut through the tension, "Why don’t we just take him to the hospital? With Zhane there, Leo’s tests won’t be compromised. If soone’s after him, or even after , they might try to cover their tracks now that their plan’s failed." Despite his anger, Dave refused to let it cloud his judgnt. While part of him yearned to exact revenge on whoever gave Leo the opportunity, he couldn’t shake the suspicion that Leo orchestrated it himself, painting himself as the victim to win Hera’s sympathy and take advantage of her.

These thoughts were fueled by his own speculations about who had gained from the ordeal—only Leo. Consequently, all his suspicion was directed at him. Dave couldn’t pinpoint the origin of his dislike for Leo, but from the mont he laid eyes on him, hostility bubbled inside. Seeing Leo close to Hera only intensified his negative impression, making it natural for Dave to question Leo’s intentions.

However, he didn’t have any evidence to put all the bla on Leo. If he tried, he would only appear petty and vindictive in front of Hera, damaging his own reputation instead of helping. So, he refocused his attention on completely uncovering the truth behind the drugging incident, as it also affected the woman he was interested in.

Hera agreed with Dave, realizing they needed more than just a doctor’s visit—they needed proper equipnt to run the necessary tests. So, Hera, Dave, and Leo headed to Everett Hospital, where Zhane was in charge. Dave drove the hotel’s company car while Hera supported Leo in the back. Dave temporarily set aside his resentnt toward Leo, more concerned about the drug’s potential effects on Hera if the pill she took wasn’t sufficient. He wanted to scold her for being too complacent, but knowing she was already aware of the risks, he refrained from saying anything.

Dave was so worried that he didn’t notice his unusual behavior. Normally, he never held his tongue around his friends and would roast them without a second thought, always playing the group’s troll. However, in front of Hera, he found himself unable to be as straightforward as he used to be.

But that was sothing he would have to think about later. While driving, he dialed Zhane’s number. Luckily, Zhane had just finished his morning ergency surgery and was about to rest and have lunch, so he would have ti when Bry and his family visited in the afternoon.

"Hello?" Zhane’s exhausted voice ca through the line.

"Zhane, I’m on my way to your hospital now," Dave said, his voice laced with worry and a hint of anger.

At first, Zhane assud that Dave was coming to his office to loaf around and escape work for a while. However, he sensed sothing off in Dave’s voice—it lacked his usual mischievous tone. Before Zhane could inquire further, Dave continued, "I need you to check on Hera."

Zhane instantly perked up. There was only one Hera he knew, and he was aware that Dave had only t her last night. How could they be together now? "What happened to her?! What did you do?" Zhane’s voice turned chillingly cold.

Dave hurriedly explained, "I didn’t do anything, but she was drugged. I need you to check on her."

Hera, sitting in the back with Leo, was speechless. Dave seed to have completely forgotten that Leo was the one who had been heavily drugged. Unlike him, she had only consud a small amount, which rely heightened her sexual arousal and slightly clouded her judgnt. Other than that, she was fine.

Thanks to the release she experienced with Leo’s help, she was fine now. However, Leo, on the other hand, had not experienced any release. The anaphrodisiac she gave him only alleviated so of the effects. She wanted to give him another pill but was unsure what might happen if he overdosed on the dication—it could potentially do more harm than good.

Although Leo was acting like everything was fine now and was composed in front of Hera, maybe he was doing this to reassure Hera that he was fine or maybe because he was still feeling guilty because of what had happened between him and Hera and pulling Hera with him so he was refraining from making a fuss. But Hera could still feel the heat coming from his body, it might not be as burningly hot as earlier but it was still hot enough to mistake him running a fever.

Upon hearing Dave’s words, Zhane’s anger surged, but he maintained his composure as he directed his team to prepare the lab. He then instructed the nurse to accompany him to the designated parking lot of the hospital to et with an important individual. "Alright! Hurry up!!! I’ll be waiting at the designated parking lot," he ordered, not bothering to wait for Dave’s response and hang up the call before diving into his tasks. Zhane ticulously ensured that everything was in order before joining the nurse at the parking lot.

Shortly thereafter, the hotel’s car pulled into the designated parking lot, where Zhane, along with nurses and several doctors, awaited their arrival. Zhane’s impatience was palpable as he rushed towards the car, eager to greet Hera. Without waiting for the car to co to a complete stop, he attempted to open the rear door. Dave swiftly unlocked it, granting Zhane imdiate access to Hera.

Without hesitation, Zhane swept Hera out of her seat, startling her into instinctively clinging to his neck, her face pressed against his chest. Amidst the chaos, Hera could hear Zhane’s heart pounding wildly, a testant to his nervousness and fear. Yet, in that mont, Hera realized she wasn’t the one in imdiate need of dical attention; Leo was. Gathering her resolve, she called out to Zhane in a loud voice, "Zhane, wait!!!"

Upon hearing Hera’s flustered yet unmistakably clear voice, Zhane glanced down at the woman in his arms. A small sigh of relief escaped him, reassured by her ability to communicate effectively. If Hera could still speak clearly, it indicated that she wasn’t in dire straits.

"Zhane, would you mind putting down?" Hera’s voice carried a mix of concern and frustration as she pouted, attempting to peer over Zhane’s shoulder to catch a glimpse of Leo still inside the car.

Zhane couldn’t help but notice Hera’s adorable pout, but he remained resolute in his decision to ensure her safety by personally escorting her for examination. "No, be good, we’ll go inside for the examination, once we are sure that you’re fine, only then will I let you go." Zhane insisted firmly, unwilling to accept any objections when Hera’s well-being was at stake.

"But I’m not the one who needs your attention!" Hera exclaid, her tone tinged with frustration. With each passing mont of delay, Leo’s condition could worsen, heightening her concern for him. She gestured urgently over Zhane’s shoulder towards the car behind him. Zhane instinctively followed her gaze, his eyes falling upon the man still seated inside the car. His cold deanor mirrored by his icy stare sent a chill down Zhane’s spine.

Unwavering, Zhane maintained his composure, refusing to falter in the silent exchange of gazes. eting Leo’s piercing stare head-on, Zhane displayed no hint of hesitation or intimidation.
