"Hera, we’re here to pick you up!" Zen’s voice echoed from a distance as Hera glanced up to see Zen and Xavier approaching.
"Are you guys finished already?" Hera asked a hint of surprise in her voice. She had been planning to wrap up after a final chat with the villagers she had been working with that day, intending to head back to the stable.
"We both just finished our respective tasks and bumped into each other on the way to the stable, so we figured we’d co and pick you up together," Zen explained, assuming the role of Xavier’s spokesperson while Xavier stood silently beside him, his gaze fixed on Hera.
As Zen finished speaking, he wrinkled his nose slightly. With the villagers having already bid farewell to Hera, only the three of them remained standing at the edge of the field.
Hera noticed Zen’s expression and suddenly felt embarrassed. She’s been busy all day and everyone around her has been doing the sa job so it already slipped her mind. But now, with the two n standing in front of her, she felt a sudden wave of embarrassnt wash over her.
But Zen, who had grown close to Hera and Xavier, seed to have lost all tact or perhaps it had been devoured by the dogs, as he blurted out, "You stink again!" He took a step back before continuing, "Don’t tell you’ve offended the Director, so he’s punishing you by making you work near all the SHIT in this village?"
Hera felt offended by his words. She couldn’t help but wonder if the Director harbored so animosity towards her, considering her recent assignnts had her knee-deep in animal waste for two days straight, leaving her nostrils practically numb.
Although she did not say a thing but she knew that the unbearable stench of animal poop lingered around her. After spending so much ti working with it, her sense of sll had beco numbed, leaving her unable to discern how she slled at that mont.
Hera’s expression shifted to a pout, resembling that of a bullied child, as she directed her gaze squarely at Zen. It was only then that Zen began to feel a pang of guilt, realizing he had gone too far. He had heard that won generally disliked being criticized in front of others, particularly when it ca to accusations about personal hygiene.
Then a thought crossed his mind. ’I don’t think I’d appreciate being called stinky either.’ With a wry smile, he glanced at Hera.
Hera sensed that Zen had realized his mistake, but in her petty mont, she decided to leave them behind and briskly walked towards the cabin. The feeling of being covered in a thick layer of sweat and dirt made her skin itch. Whether Zen had called her "stinky" or not, she was determined to retreat to the cabin to wash up. As a small punishnt, she would let him believe she was upset with him.
She walked back, sniggering, while Zen, flustered, started to run after her. However, Xavier proved much faster; with his long legs, he had already caught up to Hera. Sensing Xavier walking closely behind her, Hera felt insecure about her sll, so she quickened her pace. But as she increased her speed, Xavier matched it step for step.
In the end, Hera went back to the cabin half sprinting and Xavier was still closely walking with her. When she ca back to her room, she was already panting and her face was flushed, she did not know if her face was flushed due to brisk walking or was from embarrassnt because Xavier was close to her during that ti even when she was supposed to be slling really bad.
[Iam_Superman: Does anyone else see Hera’s expression like that of an angry rabbit kicking its hind leg in frustration?! It’s cute though. FYI, I have a rabbit that does that...]
[HeraismySister: I feel bad for sister Hera, but I find her expression cute too. @Iam_Superman, now that you ntioned it, I’m starting to imagine it too, and OMG, the cuteness is killing .

[NorthernDuke: Doesn’t she look more like a cute hamster that’s always eating? ლ(✧⍊✧ლ)]
[Xoxo: Ah! It’s true, @NorthernDuke! Hera seems to love eating, so when you compare her to a hamster, it just fits perfectly.]
[FatherOfCaduceus: @NorthernDuke I beg to differ. I think she’s more like a cuddly white Samoyed dog. Loyal and friendly.]
[EntertainntKing: @NorthernDuke and @FatherOfCaduceus, it’s obvious that you guys don’t know her well. She’s like a white fox, cunning but sotis silly.]
[GoldenLight: @NorthernDuke, @FatherOfCaduceus, and @EntertainntKing, quit pretending like you know her. She’s obviously more like a temperantal white cat—feisty yet cuddly at the sa ti.]
[Dave_Carson: @NorthernDuke, @FatherOfCaduceus, @EntertainntKing, and @GoldenLight, wasn’t the topic about her expression of frustration? Why did it suddenly turn into an episode of Animal Planet?]

After being reminded about Hera’s frustration, four of the VIPs in Hera’s livestream imdiately contacted the Director of ’The Quest’. When the Director first saw their flashing gold userna and the lavish gifts they sent to the livestream, he first thought that they were just second-generation heirs who did not know much of the world and were just wasting their parents’ hard-earned money without second thoughts and was just trying to impress Hera with money. But now that he is seeing his phone screen lighting up.
He felt like his whole body was subrged in an ice bath because the caller IDs that were flashing in his phone were the well-known industry behemoths in their country. The four of them even called simultaneously. Their simultaneous calls sent a shiver down his spine, a premonition stirring within him that these n were reaching out for the sa purpose.
Hera’s livestream stood out uniquely among other participants, boasting VIPs who openly supported her. Unlike the others who might have their own benefactors, those relationships often remained clandestine due to their questionable morality. Therefore, none of the financial backers for the other participants would openly declare their interest in their respective "sugar babies" as Hera’s VIPs did.
But Hera was different, since day one of the show, the VIPs were already showing clear interest in her and he himself have seen all their comnts, that’s why he thought that they are just hot-blooded young n who were looking for fresh flowers to pick.
Now, realizing his misjudgnt, the Director found himself in a predicant. What initially appeared as re coincidence now seed to harbor deeper implications. With Hera’s recent consecutive tasks under scrutiny, he found himself without a clear explanation to offer.
As the calls persisted, their nas flashing on his screen like contestants in a race, as if competing to see whose call would be answered first. The Director grew more flustered and hesitant. Cursing his luck, he eventually gave in, randomly selecting a call to answer, his mind racing with uncertainty about how to handle the impending conversation.
Sure enough, they grilled him for assigning Hera the most challenging tasks in the village. His suspicions were confird; those VIPs were indeed the country’s behemoths and were concerned about her wellbeing.
Hera was not aware of the male lead’s banter online but even if she knew, she wouldn’t care because she was already busy cleaning herself up in the bathroom.
