Louis adjusted his glasses and said solemnly, "I received news that Miss Carter drove from Rosemont City to the cri scene yesterday afternoon to carry out a cri scene simulation to investigate Lucy’s case. It’s 2:30 in the morning. Miss Carter is still staying on the hilltops around the cri scene, examining the car accident from the perspective of the murderer and the drone. The video of the car accident we received was about an hour and a half long. It didn’t end until nearly four in the morning. That also ans that Miss Carter will be busy in the mountains until at least four in the morning."
Alexander’s eyes narrowed, and his expression beca extrely complicated. After a while, he said in a low voice, "Miss Carter... she actually did this."
"That’s right," Louis quickly added. "Regardless of whether Miss Carter did it out of interest, a sense of justice, or personal motives, it’s good for you that she’s so concerned about this matter. She won’t be able to gain anything of substantial benefit."
Alexander lowered his eyes slightly and did not speak for a long ti. His long eyelashes covered his beautiful eyeliner, creating a faint shadow, making him very charming. His cold and handso face also beca gentle. Louis observed Alexander’s expression and secretly praised himself in his heart. He continued, "Mr. Moran, you must rember how well Miss Carter treats you and think of a way to thank her."
Alexander glanced at him and closed the door. He lay on his bed and closed his eyes. He, who usually slept well, could not fall asleep this ti no matter what. All he could think about was Avery investigating clues on the mountain at two or three o’clock in the morning because of him. He was a little confused, frustrated, and happy. He even wanted to go up to the roof now and take a helicopter to the scene to accompany Avery. Of course, he was just thinking about it. He wouldn’t really go. Avery was doing serious things. He could not disturb her. After so thought, he picked up his phone and sent a ssage to Avery in the dark.
Alexander: [Miss Carter, are you asleep?]
He did not expect Avery to notice this ssage soon. He just wanted to express his concern to her. Soon, Avery replied:
Avery: [I stayed up all night tonight and simulated the incident at the scene of the car accident. I’ve gained a lot. I’ll go down the mountain after dawn, complete the murderer’s analysis report, and send it to you.]
Alexander was moved. He sent:
Alexander:[Miss Carter, thank you very much. But I’ve been investigating this case for five years. There’s no hurry. Don’t push yourself.]
Avery sent a smile emoji and then replied:
Avery: [It’s nothing. I’m good now, and I’m young and energetic. I’ll be fine if I don’t sleep for a night. Don’t worry, go to sleep.]
Alexander smiled. The faint light from the phone screen shone on his face, reflecting a simple and gentle smile. Unfortunately, no one saw such an unprecedented smile. He replied:
Alexander:[Okay, I’m not worried. I’m going to bed. I’ll wait for your report.]
Avery replied with a smile emoji. Alexander carefully read their conversation a few more tis. Satisfied, he put down his phone and went to sleep.
At dawn, Louis, who also slept at the company, walked into the office with coffee, fruit, and fresh sandwiches. He was surprised to see that Alexander was already sitting, quickly signing docunts. There was already a thick stack of signed docunts. If this continued, Alexander would be able to sign all the docunts today. When Alexander heard Louis’s footsteps, he did not even raise his head. "Didn’t you say that you have important etings? Arrange them imdiately," he said.
Louis placed the breakfast in front of him and said, "I’ll make the arrangents now." There was a financial eting in the morning. In the afternoon, there was a personnel eting. The focus was on who would replace the position that had been vacated after Richard’s resignation. Among these positions, the chairman of the Supervisory Board was the most important. Alexander definitely wanted to control it. Moreover, he had already decided on the candidate. He was just waiting for the position to be empty so that he could imdiately transfer his n over.
While the others were arguing, he received an issage. He clicked on it and then smiled. Avery sent him a docunt and wrote:
Avery:[This is my analysis of the murderer. Take your ti to read it. I’m going to catch up on sleep.]
He smiled and replied:
Alexander:[Okay, have a good rest, Miss Carter. I’ll treat you to a al later.]
Soone imdiately noticed his expression and muttered to others, "Don’t you think Mr. Moran’s expression is a little strange? It’s different from usual."
The person beside him was experienced. "Judging from his expression, he’s most likely communicating with a woman," he said.
"Really? Mr. Moran has a girlfriend finally?"
"He’s only 22 years old, it’s normal."
"What? Mr. Moran is only 22 years old! I’m not saying that he’s old. I just feel that he has been working in the company for a long ti and has done many important things."
Alexander noticed that everyone was observing him, so he sent Avery’s report to Louis and rushed to end the eting. Louis was very surprised to see this report, which was about 3,000 words long. He thought, "Miss Carter is too capable!"
The report could be summarized into several main points:
1. Drone Analysis:After field operations and repeated comparisons and research, Avery had basically determined the drone model used by the murderer. This model was considered a high-end product in the country. It was relatively expensive and was the newest one. It had a strong performance and was suitable for night filming, but its working ti could not exceed 30 minutes. The video of the car accident was fild in one go. There was no interruption. Therefore, it was very likely that the murderer had modified the drone and replaced the battery with a better one. From this perspective, the murderer was an expert in engineering and electronic communication.
2. Location and Evidence:Avery found the most suitable location for the murderer to lurk in. There, she found a white plastic bag that was suspected to have been left behind by the murderer. There was an empty coffee cup, two empty imported water bottles, and packaging paper for chocolate and bread in the plastic bag. She also found a cigarette butt in a crack between two stones. There was a thin layer of lipstick on the cigarette butt. The chocolate, bread, and coffee at the scene were all won’s favorite flavors. They were relatively sweet. With the drinks and food, she suspected that the murderer who fild the video was a woman. She went up the mountain alone and should be quite fit or strong.
3. Behavioral Clues: The things left behind by the murderer were quite neat. Avery guessed that the murderer had a certain level of mysophobia.
4. DNA Testing: Avery was trying to test for DNA from the bottles and the cigarette butt. If she succeeded, finding the murderer would be just around the corner.
The report was accompanied by nurous photographs. Louis was shocked and thought, "The murderer was actually very likely a woman. The direct and violent thod of blowing up a truck to kill soone really didn’t seem like a woman’s style. In addition, Lucy was devoted to her career, and most of the people who had conflicts with her were n. It was hard to imagine that a woman hated her to this extent."
In the evening, Alexander, who had just finished his eting, walked into the office. "How was it?" he asked.
Louis handed him the printed report and said, "Miss Carter did an excellent job. Mr. Moran, you owe her another big favor."
Alexander flipped open the report with a gentle expression and said, "Yes, you are right."
Louis adjusted his glasses and said aningfully, "I think you can only repay these favors by marrying her."
Alexander’s hand paused slightly. He raised his eyelids and glanced at Louis coldly. Louis shivered and quietly took a step back, preparing to slip out. However, he heard Alexander say indifferently, "I will finish the rest of the work tomorrow morning. I’m going to Rosemont City tomorrow afternoon."
Louis was excited and replied, "Okay." He thought, "What else could Matthew do? To see Miss Carter, of course."
