Alexander thought for a few seconds. "How about this? You can work on that detective novel. However, I want you to hint that I’m the author. The murderer would focus on instead. Of course, I’d not retain the author’s identity after solving the case. Would that be alright with you?"

Avery waved her hand. "Sure, sure. It’s a deal."

Alexander smiled and raised his glass. "You’re a good person. Let propose a toast to you again."

The champagne was delicious. It also did not have much alcohol content. However, Avery said, "I’ve got work tonight. I can’t drink anymore."

Alexander never forced others to drink. He smiled and said, "Alright, you can have water instead. I’ll down this glass." Alexander finished his champagne before saying, "The Miracle 30 I promised to gift Dr. Annie has completed the final examination. It’d be sent to her soon. I hope she likes it."

Avery kept up with the pretense that she was not Dr. Annie. "I believe she’ll like it."

Alexander played with the glass and looked deeply at Avery. "You’re my confidant. You must be able to figure out why I’m working so hard to develop Miracle, right?"

Avery replied, "Your sister got into a car accident five years ago. That was when you started pouring your heart into developing Miracle. After what happened with your sister, it’s no wonder you regretted that your sister’s car was not smash- or collision-proof."

"Why do you know so well?" Alexander poured himself another glass. "I’ve loved to play with cars since I was young. I also like to study and build cars. My dream’s to build the safest car in the world so that the driver and passengers in the car don’t have to worry about getting into accidents." He looked wistful as he spoke. "Before entering the family business, I had been looking for a suitable car production line. I searched for talent everywhere and even ca up with how I’d like to design the car. I decided to buy a car production line on the verge of bankruptcy after I entered the Moran Group. However, it required a lot of money. There was also the concern that the small cars produced would not be on par with foreign brands. The board of directors was very much against it."

Alexander paused before continuing, "It wasn’t until sothing happened to my sister that I went all out and insisted on buying that production line. To achieve my aim, I made a solemn promise to the directors that I would give up the CEO position if I could not co up with a car within two and a half years that would rake in huge amounts. I eventually succeeded."

Avery did not say anything. She just gave him a thumbs-up.

Alexander had another glass of champagne. "Now, the third generation of Miracle has been developed. The most important function is to achieve the constant temperature of the materials in the car. It’s to prevent the possibility of a fire or the engine being frozen. If we achieve that, no matter whether it’s cold or hot, the people in the car can stay in the car for a long ti even if the engine stops working."

Avery looked thoughtful. "You can do it."

Louis could not hear what Avery or Alexander were talking about. He could not see them properly either. However, he was still happy to watch them from the side. His phone rang at that ti, pulling him back to reality. He looked down and saw that it was a call from Isaac. He knelt so that his voice would be more distant. He answered the phone impatiently. "Yes?"

Isaac’s tone was flattering. "Our jewelry design studio can open anyti in the next few days. May I ask when Mr. Moran is free so that we can confirm the opening ti of the studio?"

Louis did so ntal calculations. "Tomorrow."

Isaac hesitated for a mont before saying, "Alright, let’s set the ti at 9:58 am tomorrow. What do you think?"

Louis thought for a mont. "Alright, Mr. Moran will arrive on ti at 9:58 am tomorrow. He will be there for ten minutes."

Isaac replied, "Thank you very much. Help thank Mr. Moran too. We would be good hosts."

Louis replied, "I still have sothing on. I’ll hang up first."

Isaac made sure Louis hung up before he dared to curse. "He’s too much. He dared to ask us to set the opening date for tomorrow. That ans we need to inform the guests and dia overnight. They have to prepare to attend the ceremony early tomorrow morning. Won’t they be cursing us in their hearts for the late invitation?"

Regina also started ranting. "It’d be decent enough if they give us at least a day or two to prepare. However, they decided on tomorrow just like that. They’re simply making things difficult for us."

Gia said calmly, "He’s Mr. Moran. He’s busy every day. That’s why he knows he can get everyone to cooperate with his schedule. I’ll call the studio now and have them work overti to prepare for the opening tomorrow morning. As for the guests and dia, let’s tell them that Mr. Moran will be attending the opening. We’ll prepare sothing fitting for the dia. I believe there’s no reason for them to reject." She thought for a mont before continuing, "Let’s prepare 2000 dollars for each of them. The cash I prepared should be enough."

Regina and Isaac looked at each other. They had bitter expressions. Their daughter had planned to invite over 100 guests. There were reporters, influencers, and other internet celebrities. That would an they would be spending over 200 thousand dollars. Over 200 thousand dollars. That amount would not have ant much to them in the past. However, the Murphy Group’s stock price had been plumting for many days. It was already in danger of being delisted. Its employees were also leaving one after another. They had to raise funds for the planned land developnt. They were also spending a lot of money to support their children’s careers. It was no longer easy for them to part with over 200 thousand dollars just like that.

However, they could only reply, "Alright, we’ll do as you said."

Gia handed them a stack of nas. "Go ahead and inform these guests."

Isaac and Regina took the list back to their bedroom. Their expressions were still troubled. Luar said begrudgingly, "Andrew said he needs an investnt of 10 million dollars for him to secure the third biggest male role in that highly-anticipated production. Take your pick. Shall we sell the vacation houses, yachts, famous paintings, or jewelry next?"

They had already invested over 20 million dollars in their daughter’s design studio. Their son had previously starred in a widely popular production. His artiste managent company was currently working on having him take on a highly-coveted role in an upcoming production projected to be another big hit. The role had a very good persona. There was no doubt that the role would gain imnse popularity if the actor playing it had outstanding looks and passable acting skills. That was why Andrew was doing his best to fight for the role. However, there were too many people competing for this role. In comparison, Andrew, who had just debuted, did not have much of an advantage. If he wanted to secure this role, the best way would be to invest in the production. However, given the current state of the Murphy family, it was not easy for them to fork out 10 million dollars.

Regina sighed. "Houses are known to be more valuable than other assets. Of course, we can’t sell them. We still have to go on vacations in the future. Let’s just sell the paintings." Jewelry was her favorite. There was no way for her to sell them. That ant they could only resort to selling paintings.

Isaac looked at the famous paintings hanging on the wall. "When we went to Europe to bid for these famous paintings, the premium was as high as 50%. In the end, the prices fell so much in just a few years. My heart aches."

Money had co to them too easily in recent years. They did not hold back on their spending. Now that things were no longer the sa, they could feel the pinch.

Regina pinched her husband’s arm and glared at him. "It’s very easy for celebrities to earn money these days. As long as Andrew continues to be popular, any film he’s in will earn him millions. There are also all kinds of advertisents and endorsents. It’s not difficult to rake in millions and millions a year. It’s worth it to invest that bit of money for him."

"I understand," Isaac said. "We’ll rely on Andrew in the future. For his success, there’s nothing I can’t bear to part with." He imdiately made a call. "Mr. Stockholm? We agree with the buyer’s price."

The two famous paintings they had spent over 20 million dollars on were eventually sold for 10 million dollars. Only they would be silly enough to agree to such a deal.
